I can't give enough praise to the staff associated with my annual eye exam visit on May 28th. Dr. Adel Ibrahim is truly the best eye doctor I have ever seen, as he spent the time to really evaluate the best contacts to address my astigmatism, as well as explain everything about my vision. He provided me options for me to decide what was best for me without pressuring me to go a certain direction. I've never had an eye doctor be as thorough as Dr. Ibrahim and will definitely opt to see him for future visits. The woman who did my initial eye tests was also extremely nice and did not put any pressure on the optional items, such as the retinal image. The general manager was also the most pleasant one I've ever dealt with at an eye doctor. He is the individual who helped me with my contacts order and the pricing was cheaper than an online option (like Warby Parker). I was in and out in about an hour for approx. $250, including the exam and year of contacts. read more

I made my first appointment on June 30, 2025 for July 24th. Someone from the office called me on July 22 and informed me the doctor wouldn't be available for my appointment and we needed to make another appointment. My appointment was rescheduled for July 24. I got a call on July 23 informing me that my July 24 appointment the doctor wouldn't be available for & we needed to reschedule again. We rescheduled that appointment for September 8 at 3 o'clock. On September 8th at 10 AM in the morning I got another call From Dr. Braun office informing me that that schedule that appointment had to be rescheduled because the doctor wasn't available at that point I just gave up and started looking for another doctor. I'll blind before I get to see Dr. Braun. Walk away. If I would have read the reviews first, I would have walked away months ago! One star is too much! read more

Convenience of being in Old Town within walking distance is the draw, otherwise I do not recommend. The doctors constantly rotate out, so I've never seen the same one twice. In 3 years of annual eye exams, every appointment I've scheduled has been confirmed multiple times via text and email only to be cancelled by the office on the day of the appointment. Staff is nice, but incredibly disorganized with scheduling and answering calls. For example, I called today to find out where my trial contact lenses were (supposed to be delivered this past Monday); I gave my info to one employee who then put me on hold, only to then have to repeat all my info to another employee before finding out there was no information or schedule for my lenses to be received. Updated: Got called back an hour later by the first person I talked to (Lina?) and was told that my trial lenses were "promised" by the 8th, but to maybe expect them then or on the 10th or the 11th. She could not figure out how I came in on the 20th, but wasn't getting my order until the 8th. I had to ask twice before they agreed to ship to me at my house, after I pointed out that these multiple mistakes and lack of communication/information merited some consideration. read more

Old Alexandria location: 915 St Asaph St--I scheduled an appointment, advising them of my insurance company (an approved vendor for this carrier) and that I wore bifocal contact lenses. After the eye exam, I had one test for an additional $40, which I agreed to have. Front staff are great, they're friendly, organized and helpful without being pushy at all. They scheduled me for a next day appointment and I saw them working hard. 5 stars! On the other hand, the optometrist, Dr. Alice Tseng, was in a mood. Maybe she was having an off day but she was passive aggressive and appeared to want me to feel self-conscious. She was competent as an eye doctor, but if I asked her any questions, she would take on a condescending tone. When I tried being friendly, she was short and terse in her responses. I appreciate that she used her medical expertise to indicate things that may be medical conditions. The absolute worst chain optometrist I have ever been to. They could not get the lenses correct on my glasses after I brought the frames in twice for measuring. Mind you, the store wasn't to blame for this, but it was their lab of their choosing. If your lab is no good and makes your business look bad?,.... you get rid of them. In addition, this issue required that I call them to find out what was going on. Never once did the store manager call, text or e-mail me and even after a request to have the regional manager call, it amounted to nothing. Zero on the scale of customer service. I cancelled my order, but that process could take up to 30 days to get credit with my insurance to get new lenses. I went in for my eye exam over a month ago and received next to nothing from this horrible establishment. To add injury to insult, when I wanted to cancel the entire experience, their response was, "oh you can't get refunded for the eye exam, the doctor did her job." Yes, but I would have NEVER gone to that eye doctor at your location if I had known that you could not fulfill your obligation to deliver me new lenses for my glasses. In addition, I would wager your eye doctor would look for a new business to support if they knew how dissatisfied her customers were with the MyEyeDr to which she associates her business. MeEyeDr is the perfect business model for how our country has failed at quality customer service. read more

My past experiences with MyEyeDr were positive, but my recent encounter was highly disappointing. Despite being promised a two-week turnaround for my glasses, it took an excruciating seven weeks. I never even received a call or text that my glasses had arrived. Upon finally picking up my glasses, there was a complete lack of acknowledgment or apology for the extensive delay, and not a single expression of gratitude for my patience. I've typically experienced a standard procedure of checking the fit and lenses when picking up new glasses, coupled with a period dedicated to client service. However, this time, there was an utter absence of customer service. I was handed my glasses without any communication, leaving me standing there for 5 minutes, uncertain if the transaction was complete or if a lens check was to take place. Unfortunately, nothing happened, nor was anything communicated. This experience was, without a doubt, the worst I've encountered in terms of both customer service and overall customer experience. What added to my dissatisfaction was the loss of frames by someone I had recommended to MyEyeDr. The MyEyeDr person spoken to only contacted their lab after expressing frustration and couldn't locate the order at all. They had NO idea where my referral's glasses had gone. In light of these issues, I cannot in good conscience recommend MyEyeDr to others. If negative star ratings were an option, I would certainly choose -5 Stars; it was just that bad. The Old Town location doesn't even have a manager at this location. read more

Five stars for customer service here. The quality of the eye exams I had over the last two years at the Vienna location and this location - not so great. But that is not the fault of the staff. I ended up going to another ophthalmologist for a correction but I would consider coming back here just for glasses. They have a great selection of designer frames. It's almost impossible to buy eyeglasses here. Very, very frustrating. Store is extremely under staffed.

Due to my elderly father needing help as I was about to leave the house, I arrived at 11:50 AM for my 11:45 AM eye appointment. I rush through traffic trying to be on time. (I usually arrive early for all of my appointments.) When I arrive at the MyEye Dr. office, there are 4 employees standing behind the desk chatting, and there are no other customers there. I walk up to the front desk, and I apologize for running five minutes late. The young short lady at the front desk says, "no you're 10 minutes late because your appointment was at 11:40am, so we cancelled your appointment." I ask why, and she said they have a 10-minute rule. (I was never informed there was a 10-minute rule when I booked the appointment.) I show her the time on my phone says 11:50am - exactly 10 minutes from 11:40am. I ask if they could still see me given that I'm there now and made the effort to come - and even by her perspective, I'm still there within this random 10 minutes window. She said no. So.... - 4 employees standing around the front desk when I arrived, no customers in the front office and they were too busy to see me? No. - I arrived right at the 10-minute mark and yet they still couldn't bother to keep my appointment. - Late or not, I went through a lot of effort to get there, I'm standing right in front of them, and they felt it was more important to enforce a rule rather than to exercise common sense to do their job of the exam. - I'm always early for my appointments because I value the time of a business, but the ONE time I'm late due to a personal urgency, I expect them to return the courtesy. They weren't busy, and clearly had the time to help me out. And they chose not to. My previous Dr. was both a great doctor and really nice. They would never have pulled this crap. - The short young girl said she tried to call me. And? So? I'm there NOW. Proceed with the exam. Show me you'll give a little bit of extra effort and courtesy that you want my business. - It's all seemed rather stupid and petty of her quite honestly. To the manager: While your staff can blindly enforce a rule, business is about building a friendly, long-term relationship with your customers. This employee at the front desk clearly didn't care about my medical needs, nor about valuing my time. If she was trying to make the point that I should be on time next time, the lesson I learned is that I won't return here again. And I won't. Ever. I hope others reading this will learn from this experience about what they can expect in customer service with this office and how you will be valued. If the manager should choose to write back to this, I already reported this on your customer service website. read more

I placed an order on March 4th. They arrived a week later with a scratch on them. For the following *four weeks* it was delayed at the lab until I canceled my order on April 2nd when I called and they still had no estimate on when my glasses would be in. If you're counting, that's 30 days after the order. When I called to follow up, half the time the staff said they'd call the lab and get back to me and then never actually got back to me until I followed up. The final time I called I received the same sort of run around, saying they would reach out to the lab and call me back. I understand that the delay is with the lab. However, this organization choses to do business with the lab, clearly does not communicate effectively with the lab that makes their lenses, and more than one staff member didn't actually follow up when they said they would. The gentleman that actually handled my case was polite and professional. But I will not be returning to MyEyeDr at this or any location, and do not recommend it to others. read more

We had a very positive experience visiting MyEyeDr today. My wife and I had appointments 20 minutes apart, and upon entering we were greeted and made to feel comfortable and welcome. We had registered online and uploaded our insurance information prior to our visit, and this greatly saved time. My wife had her eye exam first, while I looked for new eyeglasses. Technician Zaineb helped me find great new eyeglasses, and patiently went through several cost iterations to combine my eye insurance with the various options to maximize my value. Once complete, Dr. Alan Van was ready to see me. His manner was friendly, he explained my eye status in an easy to understand way, and I greatly enjoyed the experience. After everything checked out, and my prescription was slightly adjusted, I returned to the front and paid for my new eyeglasses. Front office staff are friendly and efficient. My wife and I are so happy our new eye doctor is located near to our house and oversees such a well run operation. We highly recommend MyEyeDr on St. Asaph Street! read more

Worst experience ever! This was my first time and last time going here. I scheduled my appointment over my lunch time and it took me almost a hour for them to get me in. The doctor is good, but the front desk and other employees are just horrible. They were rude and unfriendly. Overcharged and does not have any patient at all, they don't even try to listen what is the customer's concern. If you can find other place, please run away from here. read more

I never like going to the eye doctor, and put it off during Covid. The Old Town MyEyeDr is excellent all around. The guy who answered the phone was extremely helpful, as was the technician who initially did the preliminary matters. The doctor, Dr. Lee, was fantastic and listened to my concerns and got me into a pair of lens that allow me to see much better than before. read more

I have worn contacts for 45 years now and have seen a lot of optometrists over the years. The doctors and technicians here are very friendly and highly professional.
