I came in to look at frames and glasses. I always forget about these other stores that are here as I'm used to walking past them when I come to the UPS store to pick up my mail. They have quite a good selection. They have frames from Ray Ban, Tory Burch, other high-end brands, and several off-brand frames. I found a pair I liked that were wire frames (which I'm leaning more towards these days). Several of the expensive brands are locked. so you'll have to ask for assistance. I was pressed for time but will definitely be back, as I've spotted a pair I like. I was greeted when I entered and was told to let them know if I needed assistance. This is the eye doctor that I usually go to. The staff is very kind and professional. I went in for an annual eye exam and I was seen on time by Dr. Buchanan. She was very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained everything to me. The exam was relatively fast. They have a wide selection of frames and a promotion where if you get a year of contact lenses, you get a free pair of sunglasses. However, there was not much variety in the sunglasses. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because after my exam, they tried to charge me the full price without my insurance. I don't think it was on purpose, but it was a little concerning to me that they were not aware that my insurance fully covers my exam. It turns out that they were giving me a brand of contact lenses that were not covered by my insurance. I would highly suggest you look at your insurance coverage prior to having your exam here. On May 24th 2026. I would not recommend going to this store for guidance on eyewear products. With the exception of Ms. Deirdre--who took the time to research and provide accurate information--the staff consistently shared incorrect details and did not take responsibility for their mistakes. For example, I was told multiple times that the META Gen 2 Glasses include a display, which is simply not true. There was also misinformation about fit; one associate suggested they could be "fitted" if uncomfortable, which is not applicable to this type of tech eyewear. When I expressed discomfort and wanted to return them, I was advised to take them home due to closing time and return later for adjustments. However, Ms. Deedre later confirmed that fitting is not even an option. Additionally, there was confusion regarding the return policy. I was initially told there was a 30-day return window, which Ms. Deirdre also saw listed online at the time. However, after she contacted the main office, she was informed that the purchase was considered final sale. Following my experience, the website was updated to reflect "Final Sale," as the information had not been clearly stated at the time of my purchase. On a positive note, Dr. Cerina Buchanan is an excellent optometrist. I've been seeing her for years, and she has always been supportive and professional. I will likely continue seeing her at a different location to avoid the issues experienced at this store. I am a veteran and was referred to MyEyeDr on Boston Street In Baltimore. Upon arrival I spoke with a woman behind the desk. She asked me after me telling her who I am and my address, in a rude way, if I would be using my VA insurance, as if it were a welfare plan! I was upset but said nothing. She the directed me to an area with chairs. After approximately 20-30 minutes later she comes to me telling me there was no referral. I was given no option as to stay for the scheduled appointment and self pay until they received the referral. The day I scheduled the appointment with MyEyeDr I then called community care who then submitted the referral. I'm upset regarding how I felt looked down on for using my VA benefits. I'm upset that I wasn't given the opportunity to have the exam and self pay! I will NEVER return to this facility! read more

I was using the Pikesville, MD location at Woodholm. This location is a mess. The Eye doctors change frequently and my latest one is a part timer, retired. The glasses I ordered took months to come in and when they did finally arrive, the lenses did not fit the frames...I did a full refund and left for the last time. Prior frames were also months in the making, the frame was damaged (stripped screw) and I had to pay in full for a new frame. Staff does not seem to know how to use their own computer system. I would give this place a 0 star if I could. I came here to get my annual contact and glasses prescription and order because it is in a convenient location for me, lots of parking (in a plaza). However, never again will I come here. I would much rather drive to Virginia to someone who knows how to manage my eye care. Given that I am a more "complex" patient because of my eye condition and vision, many optometrists they don't know how to manage my care. And this place is another one of those. Which is okay because I know I'm not your typical patients, but I would much rather have them be honest and say they're not comfortable and so I can move on and find another place that is. There's no shame to that. Even with insurance coverage, I still have to fork out at least $500 for my contacts and glasses. For my glasses, because of my prescription, I'm limited to the type of frames I can use. The person who helped me was not aware of that and did not help me choose the right frame. So they had to exchange the glasses three times until someone knows what's going on and told me which specific frames I can use so I can actually see with my glasses. Even with that, it took over a month and a half until I was able to get my contacts and glasses. Now about my contacts. After this bad experience, I decided to never go back and rather drive far to someone I know who can manage my care. A year later, I found out that the optometrist I saw here wrote my prescription too high. When I got the right prescription for contacts, my vision was much better. So if you're a typical patient who just needs contacts and glasses without much eye issues, this place would probably be okay. But if you have additional eye issues, like I do, and need someone who really knows what they're doing, then this isn't the place for you. read more

I was recommended this place by my supervisor. The location is in Caton a place that visit often to shop. and can I say this place was awesome? I did not wait but 10 minutes to see the doctor. She was great and very patient with me. The entire experience from the walk in the door was great. I received my glasses in 2 weeks as promised and I love them them. I received my prescribed medications onsite. ( that was awesome, I didn't have to go to another place) I would recommend them if they are in the network of your insurance because they were a little pricy. Showed up and the store was closed with a note on the door saying they're "temporary closed". So, someone went in to tape that note up, but couldn't contact appointments to cancel?! First time patient experience here was great. I came for glasses and contact prescriptions along with reg eye exam. I was seen within 15-20 minutes of my appointment time. Try to fill out your medical history and insurance info online at the time of booking appointment to save yourself some time on paperwork! The entire process up until check out took an hour from my scheduled appt time so make sure you give yourself ample time on the day you come in for exam. Dr. Patel was very nice and professional. She was efficient while still taking the time to answer any specific questions I had. I left with 5 pairs of sample daily contacts and 2 new prescriptions. My insurance, EyeMed, was covered and the woman working at the front offered a rebate for 200$ off my year supply +free sunglasses if I bought 1yr worth. I'll start my review by saying i normally go to a traditional eye doctor for my exams because I feel like when the doctor is attached to a retail store they don't care as much about the health of your eyes but what they can sale you.. I only chose to go to a store this time because there hadn't been much of a change in my vision and I really just wanted an updated prescription so I could order new glasses. So if that's what your looking for keep reading haha, if you need a through exam move on. The appointment was about an hour total and I think 45 mins of it was in the retail portion. When I arrive the ladies behind the counter were super sweet, and got me checked in right away. The pre-exam was the shortest I've had in years and they didn't dilate but offered me some other exam that would be additional $$.. when I asked why they didn't dilate she just stated if the doctor wanted to he would.. what I'm not understanding then is why would I do the additional exam either? It would have been nice for her to explain more of the exams opposed to just stating the price difference. I then saw the doctor for a brief awkward exam (I don't think it's the doctor they normally have) and off to the store I went. During that time i was kinda left to wander on my own and look at the frames. I found a pair that I liked and I knew my insurance would cover the full cost so I started asking questions. Tracey (I think was her name) was the only reason the experience was pleasant. She has a great personally, is very knowledgeable about glasses and has an infectious laugh! My frames were ordered and I was out the door. Four weeks later I still didn't have my glasses. In the beginning no one was communicating with me, once I started calling then they would call me once a week. Once I reached week four and I hadn't heard from them everything changed. All of a sudden they had no way of knowing when my glasses would be in and there was no one they could call to get answers. The only person who seemed to be of any assistance was the manager Tracey. The notification system for them also leaves a lot to be desired, I was notified less than an hour before they closed. After all that I went through I would have at least notified me that morning when they got in. I called I knew they were there. I did not have a good experience at this store in particular. I would give it a zero star rating if I could. My appointment was for 10/12/2022 at 11:40 am. I made the appointment for my son who attends Morgan State University. When I first made the appointment there were several time slots available and I chose 12:15 pm. I decided, 5 minutes later, to choose an earlier time 11:40 am. I made the change and confirmed my appointment. Just to be sure the change was made I called the store to confirm the change. Plus I did not want to hold an appointment slot that someone else may need (12:15pm). When I called the store, they said everything was fine but they needed to take the 12:15 pm appointment off. I waited on the phone while it was being done. I was then informed that "I was all set". Needless to say, on October 12th, I drove up from Washington DC that morning to take my son to the appointment. I work night shift but making this appointment was more important than going to sleep. So, we arrive at My Eye Dr only to be told our appointment was not until 12:15 pm. I had printed out my confirmation and showed the staff my proof. They must have overbooked and were running late on appointments because they would not honor my 11:40am time slot. I told them we were leaving. So, we exited and never looked back. I will never step foot into this practice ever again. What is the purpose of making appointments? Managers need to learn how to manage. The customer service there is severely lacking. This is the MyEyeDR store at 233 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC. I took my 17 year old for an update on her contact lens prescription. I called first to find out the price. I was told $140. When we checked out the price was $285. They said the extra charges were necessary procedures. I asked why I wasn't told that at the time I called. I got blank stares. They said the regular eye exam was $140 but that she was getting contacts. I told them that I originally asked for the price of the exam for contact lenses. Every part of my experience from check-in to the doctor to the payment was full of bad customer service. I will never go back to this store. Horrible! read more

I was a customer of myeyedr for several years at the Whitemarsh office and was very pleased with the services I received. This time went to Canton location because it is closer to work. VERY DISAPPOINTED with their customer service from the office end of things. The Dr. care was wonderful. Pair 1: 3-4 weeks to deliver. The progressive line for reading was very low in one lens and did not work with the "expensive" frame because the nose piece kept bending causing even more distortion ( it was from the naked eye). New lens ordered! Pair 1; lens 2 (one eye) New lens installed and same problem 2 weeks later I went back to address my concerns about the frame's nose piece and was able to pick out another frame. Although the staff seemed a little offputting, they were not unreasonable at first. Pair 2: Chose a less expensive frame and they are so much better, but there is still a little distortion however, I will give it a try over the weekend. I also made an appointment with the doctor just to make sure it wasn't the rx in case these weren't right after the weekend trial run.. agreed. Pair 2: today i was finally able to put this issue to rest, or so I thought! It was only going to take a minor adjustment on the side pieces (arm) and these glasses would be perfect. So, I called to cancel the appointment, and I ask about the frame costs since one frame was expensive and my forever frame is much less $98), I was informed that they decided to change the composite of my lenses and that decision which cost me $59. So without my knowledge or consent ... it was done. Now I have a store credit that is $59 less than expected; i will never go back there to use btw (what do you sell for $39? when i just spent $500+ and 8 weeks of my life) My problem is this...I want to be informed before not after the decision is made for me. This office is conveniently located in Canton. Tracey Cohen - manager - delivers exceptional customer service. She actually picked out a frame that I would never have chosen and it was PERFECT. She was unhappy with the delivered product which had flaw and she sent them back prior to me ever viewing. They are indeed somewhat pricy, if you are sensitive to that, however the insurance process was seamless - they took care of it all. Dr Wyman did my exam. He was thorough and in fact I showed him my recent Rx and said that it was way off. Tracey helped with the billing and insurance. She too was very helpful and detail oriented! But DAVID....is the superstar in that office!!! He was the one who helped me choose glasses and measure. HE'S THE BEST! He knew my style and wouldn't stop until we both agreed they looked cute! Lol. Went to the Boston at location first they was only suppose to tighten up a pair of glass they broke them. Second i got a new prescription which they said only be a week and now it's three weeks later i called corporate three times still no one has reached back to me. NEVER WILL I GO THERE AGAIN. I went here because it is right up the street from work, and in my network. Also, I'm an HR manager and wanted to be able to refer people to this convenient location. Dr. Patel was very friendly and helpful in suggesting a different contact lens for me. Everyone was very nice and I will definitely be back. My only concern was that I wasn't aware of the contact lens fitting fee ($150) prior to my visit. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time. read more

I had a basic annual appointment and ordered my annual supply of contacts through this business. The day of receiving my contacts, I realized that the contacts were not my correct prescription. I then returned to the office to find out that someone who had the same first name as me visited the office on the same day and they switched our prescriptions (information provided to me by the doctor)... Fast forward to them fixing the mistake (merely 3 weeks after my original appointment), I called the office two weeks after they were supposed to put the correct prescription order in, to check on an ETA and they had no order date for the correct lenses. It was only after I called that a convenient "overnight shipping" was input and I received the correct lenses 4 business days later. I do believe if I did not call, my order would have never been put in. I would not recommend this office for your optometry needs. read more
