Still waiting. Posted the review yesterday and emailed a couple of times to the office, but no reply with an explanation of what happened. As the reviews posted by other patients, this has happened many times before and clearly, the charges aren't being disclosed upfront and if disclosed, not clearly. It is amazing to me that a business can continue to practice in this manner after repeated compaints.. My son just left their office for contact eye exam and was charged ridiculous fee of $500.00 and I was told that this is with "20%" off their regular price. I called office and talked to a lady named Kris who told me that is how much they charge and she told my son that "before" the exam which my son said he wasn't told until afterwards. Regardless, $500.00 for a routine contact eye exam? Am I the only one that thinks this is a highway robbery? My entire family has been wearing glasses and contact lens and have never seen anything like this. The only reason I went to this place was because of time sensitivily but wow.. Has anyone ever paid this much for a routine contact exam?

They stated they would submit my vision results to the MVA in Maryland as part of a Vision Provider service. They charged me $25, and later called to inform me they can't do it online. They offered to email it to me or have me pick it up, but that required I setup an appointment through the MVA (due to COVID) to drop it off. That defeated the whole purpose, and the MVA only had appointments a couple months out. Thankfully, my insurance renews in the new year, and I was able to get an appointment with another vision provider. They did NOT charge me to submit the info, and they did it within a half hour of my appointment. Also, on one of the multiple occasions I called to speak to them about this, a guy answered the phone. I hear him say, "well I guess I'm not getting to go to lunch." He then says, "hello." I waited, as that's not how you answer a phone at work. He caught himself, then said it was Maple Lawn Care. Once he heard who I needed to speak with, he put me on hold like the phone was on fire.

The staff was very cordial and promptly took me to the initial exam room where they examined my eyes with modern technology and an explanation of everything that was being done. Dr. Strong is highly detail oriented with a friendly demeanor. She listened to my description of what I have been noticing with my glasses over the last year and got me dialed into a new prescription. She and the frames specialist gave me some good advice on how to compare the frames with fit and fashion equally considered. I found this very helpful in navigating their wide variety of frames. I highly recommend Dr. Strong and the entire team at First Sight Vision Care for all of your optical needs.

She said I'd benefit from a special type of lens called Neurolens but it was not covered by insurance and costs about $1000! After the appointment, I wanted to learn more about the lens, as anyone would before they consider spending that much money on something. I became concerned when I saw "misalignment" means strabismus which is being cross-eyed. At this point my curiosity about a lens turned to worrying about what was going on with my eyes so I scheduled an appointment with a strabismus specialist. I went to the appointment prepared with a list of questions like what's causing my eyes to cross, is there anything that can be done to keep it from progressing, etc. The doctor examined my eyes and found no misalignment or other issues that would justify the use of Neurolens. This experience has been very frustrating. I can't help but feel this was a sales pitch to sell Neurolens.

I worked with Ms Pearlie and she made the process very smooth and fun! Very truthful as to what frames fit my face and what didn't (that's exactly what I needed) and I came out of there with two frames. Originally I just wanted to get one but came out with two, haha. I totally recommend going to Ms. Pearlie!! This year I felt hopeful. Despite switching my appointment last minute (one hour notice) to a remote visit because of the doctor's illness, the customer service was very good. I specifically noted that I had not been notified my contacts were in the previous year and she promised to contact me. A month after my appointment, I check the website. It says my contacts are not in and to give them more time. Finally I call the office. They take a full 24 hours to get back to me to let me know they are in. I pick them up and the bag is dated as arriving one week after my appointment and lists "first patient notification" for the same day. Nope. And no apology or acknowledgment of this ridiculous oversight and poor service.

They do not take my insurance (VSP), yet the total price with upgrades is less than at Pearl Vision where I had been going. There are some others in Columbia, but most require use of their eye doctor and I kind of prefer the one that I go to. She's taken good care of us.

I had gotten my eyes checked elsewhere, but I had yet to find glasses and I didn't like the styles they offered at the optometrist. When I got inside, I noticed that there was hand sanitizer right up front and all the employees had gloves on as well. They did let me know right away that I was able to try on glasses and that the ones that I didn't like went into a sanitizing tray on each table so they can be properly sanitized before being placed back on the wall. I definitely liked the measures they took with ensuring everyone's safety amidst the pandemic! I ended up finding a pair of translucent glasses that I liked. They were priced for $95, so I was anticipating adding tax on and whatnot when I purchased them. But no! They were actually $95, including adding my prescription onto them! I opted to add the blue light protector (since I work in an office & spend 8 hours a day staring at a computer screen) and it was $50 more. I received my glasses in about 5 days later, and I went back for an adjustment (since the frames I got were a bit tight on my temples) and I ended up buying another pair, haha! Thank you, Warby Parker! I definitely enjoy my new glasses!

I'm pretty turned off from chain Optometrists now after dealing with this one. Specifically Mr…read more Ebraheem. I feel like they rush your eye measurements, and then pressure you into picking "the one that looks best" after you're clearly struggling to see either options. Just trying to get to the next patient. Then when I had to do a reexamination after my new power was just awful, they wanted to charge me for trying to see another doctor instead of the same one. I explained why I would rather have someone else, but it "would not count as a reexamination." So I went with him.. they called me several times trying to "remind" me to come in early. I figured I was the last patient and they probably wanted me to get there early so they could wrap things up.. which already made me feel this would be rushed. Again. (They want you to come in 15 mins early, no matter what, but the the amount of "confirmation" calls I got, emphasizing it, was surprising). I arrived early and there I overheard the doctor checking to see if the last patient, me, arrived (this was 20 mins before my scheduled appointment). So my feelings were correct. Finally, the doctor saw me and when I explained he immediately became defensive, and basically blamed me for the wrong power. After I explained that my old (2 glasses ago) glasses are clearer than the power he gave, he left the room with my old glasses, came back and said "okay I have your new power." I asked what did he do, he said he's using my old glasses as the power because "if it works for you why bother change it?" No rechecking or retesting. Just giving up, giving me my old power and quickly rushing to leave. I'll just have to deal with it for now. But I will not be returning to MyEyeDr again, anywhere. I need to find a proper optometrist next time. If you need simple vision corrections, maybe this will work for you. But if you need someone who will spend time with you, to make sure you get as close to correct as possible, these guys are not the place to go to.
