Still waiting. Posted the review yesterday and emailed a couple of times to the office, but no reply with an explanation of what happened. As the reviews posted by other patients, this has happened many times before and clearly, the charges aren't being disclosed upfront and if disclosed, not clearly. It is amazing to me that a business can continue to practice in this manner after repeated compaints.. My son just left their office for contact eye exam and was charged ridiculous fee of $500.00 and I was told that this is with "20%" off their regular price. I called office and talked to a lady named Kris who told me that is how much they charge and she told my son that "before" the exam which my son said he wasn't told until afterwards. Regardless, $500.00 for a routine contact eye exam? Am I the only one that thinks this is a highway robbery? My entire family has been wearing glasses and contact lens and have never seen anything like this. The only reason I went to this place was because of time sensitivily but wow.. Has anyone ever paid this much for a routine contact exam?

Secondly, I had resurrect my Yelp account just so I could go online and talk about my experience. We had to use our flexible spending by the end of the year and we had a pair of frames made in the mall in Tysons. We wanted our next pair of glasses to be "perfect" so we went to First Sight in early January and we couldn't believe the difference. Working with Linda and David was a breath of fresh air. Linda was able to help my wife and I find the right pair of glasses for our hard to fit faces and was so knowledgeable and friendly. Complementing her was David, who has been in the lens crafting business for several years that worked with us to get the perfect cut lenses even though our optometrist in Tysons got the original prescription completely wrong. I have been wearing glasses for over 25 years and my wife all her life and this is the first time we have ever loved our glasses. See you next year First Vision!

She said I'd benefit from a special type of lens called Neurolens but it was not covered by insurance and costs about $1000! After the appointment, I wanted to learn more about the lens, as anyone would before they consider spending that much money on something. I became concerned when I saw "misalignment" means strabismus which is being cross-eyed. At this point my curiosity about a lens turned to worrying about what was going on with my eyes so I scheduled an appointment with a strabismus specialist. I went to the appointment prepared with a list of questions like what's causing my eyes to cross, is there anything that can be done to keep it from progressing, etc. The doctor examined my eyes and found no misalignment or other issues that would justify the use of Neurolens. This experience has been very frustrating. I can't help but feel this was a sales pitch to sell Neurolens.

Two front desk employees acknowledged that they received my vision insurance card. Rather than tell me before I arrived or even after I arrived, I was told after waiting to be seen by the Dr that they didn't take my insurance. I could have been notified before I took an hour off work and driving time that my insurance wasn't accepted. I asked why my paperwork wasn't reviewed when received and was told that they do review it. I don't have any time off to waste like this and finally got upset enough to write this review. They should have reviewed my paperwork before I arrived so I could cancel the appointment. It did seem, based on statements made, that I could pay 100% out of pocket. Why in the world would I do this if I have good vision insurance? Just be honest and let me know as soon as possible that they don't take my insurance.

Every experience I have had here has been warm and welcoming. There's a large selection of stores, and they also seem to host a market here on weekends with some more local vendors! For the holidays, they have a cute Christmas setup and a meet Santa station. I also feel everything I've bought here has been fairly priced. I just got some Christmas presents for my mom, including locally made pottery for less than I usually see on Etsy. The food options here are great, and it's a cozy spot for families and couples! Every time I come, I tell myself I'm going to come back more frequently. Just visit. You'll find something you like!

I had gotten my eyes checked elsewhere, but I had yet to find glasses and I didn't like the styles they offered at the optometrist. When I got inside, I noticed that there was hand sanitizer right up front and all the employees had gloves on as well. They did let me know right away that I was able to try on glasses and that the ones that I didn't like went into a sanitizing tray on each table so they can be properly sanitized before being placed back on the wall. I definitely liked the measures they took with ensuring everyone's safety amidst the pandemic! I ended up finding a pair of translucent glasses that I liked. They were priced for $95, so I was anticipating adding tax on and whatnot when I purchased them. But no! They were actually $95, including adding my prescription onto them! I opted to add the blue light protector (since I work in an office & spend 8 hours a day staring at a computer screen) and it was $50 more. I received my glasses in about 5 days later, and I went back for an adjustment (since the frames I got were a bit tight on my temples) and I ended up buying another pair, haha! Thank you, Warby Parker! I definitely enjoy my new glasses!

I have a daughter who has Strabismus (condition where your eyes cross without proper eyewear), so finding eyewear that allows her to feel confident and beautiful is always a challenge I dread every year. I feel like they rush your eye measurements, and then pressure you into picking "the one that looks best" after you're clearly struggling to see either options. Just trying to get to the next patient. Then when I had to do a reexamination after my new power was just awful, they wanted to charge me for trying to see another doctor instead of the same one. I explained why I would rather have someone else, but it "would not count as a reexamination." So I went with him.. they called me several times trying to "remind" me to come in early. I figured I was the last patient and they probably wanted me to get there early so they could wrap things up.. which already made me feel this would be rushed. Again. (They want you to come in 15 mins early, no matter what, but the the amount of "confirmation" calls I got, emphasizing it, was surprising). I arrived early and there I overheard the doctor checking to see if the last patient, me, arrived (this was 20 mins before my scheduled appointment). So my feelings were correct. Finally, the doctor saw me and when I explained he immediately became defensive, and basically blamed me for the wrong power. After I explained that my old (2 glasses ago) glasses are clearer than the power he gave, he left the room with my old glasses, came back and said "okay I have your new power." I asked what did he do, he said he's using my old glasses as the power because "if it works for you why bother change it?" No rechecking or retesting. Just giving up, giving me my old power and quickly rushing to leave. I'll just have to deal with it for now. But I will not be returning to MyEyeDr again, anywhere. I need to find a proper optometrist next time. If you need simple vision corrections, maybe this will work for you. But if you need someone who will spend time with you, to make sure you get as close to correct as possible, these guys are not the place to go to.
