Dr. Fred Sirotkin, O.D. is an exemplary doctor and is top tier. His staff is exceptionally amazing as well. I was worried about my recent decline in my vision and he was able to assist greatly with correcting with a better Rx and fitted me for both glasses and contact lenses. I honestly wish my insurance carrier referred me sooner, it is way better than Lenscrafters and any of those high-end retail shop that is about the money. Eagle Eye Care is about top-tier customer service with amazing technology and some old-school techniques that made me feel much better. The new Rx was much needed and his honesty and transparency were very warming to experience. Dr. Sirotkin was extremely patient with me because of my hearing loss, but he even took the time to learn the sign "better" when doing the vision test. I love how I felt like a real person again, and it was a boost to my confidence and reduced my anxiety. I highly recommend this practice to all Marylanders. read more

Dr. Sirotkin is a good doctor and the previous staff was professional as well. I have been a patient for about 20 years. Today I walked in and was told after sitting for 15 minutes I needed a mask. I said there was nothing online, in the confirmation text, in the offfice, or on the phone call about needing one. I have difficulty breathing through the paper ones they offered and said I would have brought my own. I said I would have likely cancelled my appointment. The office manager very sarcasticly said, "you still can." So I said "cancel my appointment," and walked out. By the way, while I sat waiting to be seen for that 15 minutes, I found it very unprofessional for staff to be discussing another patient, which is what I heard. This is not a place that needs my business so I will take it elsewhere after all these years. read more

Dr. Sirotkin was professional and helpful. But when I asked Sarah if I could talk to the doctor for a simple adjustment to my new prescription, she made me feel like I was asking for too much. When I replied that I could wait to speak with the doctor, she decided to go back and make the request on by behalf. The doctor readily obliged my request. When I returned to pick up my prescription, she remembered me, and I felt the same annoyance from her. I asked a simple question about my prescription and she replied with sarcasm and annoyance which I didn't appreciate. I'd rather take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

Th last couple of times I visited this office, I found Dr. Sirotkin very impatient. I had suffered an eye injury past year and I needed a thorough exam on my eye to get a perfect prescription. He quickly ran the test to determine the prescription, and he simply disregarded my comments that I couldn't see very well. He said the prescription had changed, so I ordered new glasses and when I put them on, I could not see as well as my old pair. When I asked him, he replied in the most humiliating fashion insisting I had to wear them "more than 10 sec" to see the difference. at the end they ordered a new lens for me, but it is basically the same prescription as my old glasses. This is NOT the way to do business!! I don't have extra $200 to pay for glasses with basically the same prescription. My family will not go to their office ever again! read more

My experience at Eagle Eye has not been a positive one. I went in for a routine eye exam and needed a new Prescription for multi-focal contacts. First time at this office. The eye exam cost $200. Which is above the cost of getting an eye exam with state-of-the-art equipment at other facilities. I am gravely disappointed. The office environment reminds me of a morgue. Hardly anybody smiled. And that included the doctor. The testing equipment is old. The examining chairs are cracked. The reception furniture is old. There's a musty smell in the office. I explained to the technician I needed an eye exam to check my eye health and a prescription for contact lenses. I mentioned that my current contacts are designed for distance. That I preferred to see far away than close up. My workaround for seeing near was reading glasses, or with prolonged computer use, I just take them out. Somehow the doctor interpreted that I was complaining about not seeing close up. So when I picked up my prescription for contact lenses, the power had changed. I complained to the office and told them again what I wanted. The receptionist encouraged me to try the new contacts. I followed instructions, wore the contacts, and was very disappointed I couldn't see far away. I went to my follow-up visit and the doctor was obviously upset with me. To the point he was shaking. He accused me of telling them that I wanted to see close up but now was complaining I couldn't see far away. Basically that I didn't know what I wanted. I calmly explained to him again what I had told the technician. And instead of giving me my prescription that I wanted originally, he gave me an alternative. I'm adaptable, so I tried the new prescription, again. Again, very disappointed. Called in again to tell them I want my original prescription. Now, I'm almost out of contact lenses and it's all because of the communication issues with that doctor. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I am not going to go back. Oh, and by the way, I told them I didn't need glasses that I have a perfectly good pair of glasses, but don't you know...he wrote a prescription for glasses anyway. Now, after missing work twice, I have to go back and pick up the prescription for the contacts I originally wanted. What a waste of time. Run away people, run away! read more

My husband and I were previously seeing RevolutionEYES for our vision needs and were very happy. We both visited Eagle Eye Care in January 2018 for the first time for annual checkups after our insurance changed; the 5-star reviews on Yelp looked promising and we had high expectations. Sadly, we were very disappointed and it has been a horrendous experience. The office waiting room looked clean and organized. The front desk ladies were polite but we felt some sort of undertone in their interactions and the way they spoke to us compared to the way they treated their other predominantly white patients. I don't like jumping to conclusions and since they were still polite, I was willing to give them a chance. We were called into a second waiting room and seen by a male technician/assistant. He spoke to me rudely and gave me some pretty bad vibes especially as he got physically closer and in the way he talked/looked at me - if you're a woman, you probably know what I'm talking about. He also didn't want my husband in the room, but he insisted on staying. This creepy technician made us both feel VERY uncomfortable. At this point I was hoping the doctor would be great and I would be able to overlook everything thus far. I finally met Dr. Sirotkin and was promptly disappointed. I don't know if he is sexist, racist, was having a bad day, or all of the above, but he barely made eye contact, mumbled, spoke to me rudely, and treated me with a disparaging and spiteful attitude. He didn't seem to like it when I asked questions. My husband was treated similarly, though he seemed to feel less challenged or offended when he asked questions. I needed contacts for astigmatism, so Dr. Sirotkin said he'd give me trials and make a followup appointment to see how they fit. He said they'd feel exactly the same and I wouldn't be able to notice a difference. I scheduled an appointment and put on the trials the next day. They were noticeably more uncomfortable and thicker. I wear 1-day disposables and they are thinner than 2-week contacts; the 1-day astigmatism lenses felt and behaved like the 2-weeks. I could constantly feel them in my eyes to the point my eyes were watering constantly for hours and I finally had to take them off. I returned for my followup appointment and explained what had happened. I was met with incredulity and compared to the "Princess and the Pea" as Dr. Sirotkin insisted that the difference was minute and suggested I was being overly picky. I have never experienced such unprofessional treatment from an optometrist and was shocked. He reluctantly gave me trials for another brand of lenses but said they would probably feel worse. I left feeling extremely insulted and minimized. Upon a simple Google search, you can easily conclude that astigmatism contacts are more uncomfortable. There were plenty of patients complaining of this, doctors writing articles on the fact, and some doctors even recommending that patients stick to regular contacts if possible because of the known uncomfortableness of astigmatism contacts. I suppose I'm not crazy or an overly picky "princess". I really wanted to just call it quits, but I only get one exam per year with my insurance and wanted to at least get what I came for. I called the office and asked for trials of a particular brand of 1-day lenses. They apparently didn't even have any other trials in their office, which was surprising as every other office I've been to has cabinets of trials. I was told they'd call me once the trials came in. Fast forward to March and I still haven't heard anything. I'd called the office once in February and they weren't in. I called again and was placed on hold for a long time. Finally, I was told the trials were in and they insisted someone had called me. Then I found out that they had ordered the 2-week version instead of the 1-day lenses. As previously stated, 2-weeks feel thicker and more uncomfortable to me, and as a chronic allergy sufferer I have to wear dailies. I was pretty upset by this point after waiting for MONTHS and dealing with this treatment. They even tried to blame me saying it took such a long time to come in because I had been indecisive about whether I wanted dailies or 2-weeks, which was obviously a lie. I tried to remain civil and asked if I could get a prescription as I was running out of my current contacts and my old prescription was expiring. They remained adamant that they could not provide any prescription and that I must choose a brand and type of lens and be seen by the doctor for several followups before they could give me a prescription. I ended up thanking them and hanging up. No way was I going through all this hassle to have them re-order the CORRECT contacts, wait for months again, and then see Dr. Sirotkin again. I am calling RevolutionEYES and will be paying for a new contacts exam out of pocket. Do NOT go to Eagle Eye Care! read more

Dr. Fred Sirotkin is the best optometrist I have ever had. I have been going to him for years. He has always worked hard to find the most comfortable contacts for me. I am especially pleased with the contacts he prescribed for me this year. I can see so clearly though them and they never pop out when I move my eyes. Today was my first appointment with Dr. Sirotkin and my first experience at the Eagle Eye Care facility. Firstly, parking is a dream. It's available. It's accessible. It's close to the building. Once you enter the Eagle Eye suite, it is obvious that the suite is pristine and clean from top to bottom. Even the ceiling vents are spotless. I was greeted immediately and with such kindness by the administrative specialists and opticians in the front of the suite. I was checked in quickly and was never rushed or hurried. Edgar performed various tests on my eyes, which was impressive to me as I had never before had a more thorough examination in all my years of attending previous practices. Edgar even helped calm my nerves during the eye pressure portion of the examination - which was quick and painless as promised. Dr. Sirotkin then took me for the examination. Again, the most thorough I have ever experienced. Every single process was explained thoroughly throughout as well, so I had no reason to be nervous even though it had been several years since I last sat in an optometrist's chair. He answered every question I had and I honestly learned so much from him about my eyes and optometry in general. Both he and Edgar were really amazing at that. Their passion for the field is contagious. Once my exam was finished, I went back out to the front with my prescription in hand to choose frames. They helped me pick out THE. CUTEST. FRAMES. EVER. Astigmatism never looked so stylish. Seriously. I can't wait to get them in. The optician, Rose, even explained the prescription to me and helped me choose different options for the lenses (scratch resistant, etc.) She never tried to sell me on something superfluous and she never pressured me. Honestly, I can't wait to go back in a week or two for the glasses because I genuinely enjoy the company of the staff here. They care. Genuinely care. Here you get expertise AND investment. Everyone is truly invested in you and it's unlike anything I've experienced at the optometrist's before. I already made my appointment for next year. Eagle Eye will be MY PLACE from now on.
