Amanda was amazing! She went out of her way to investigate a pair of glasses that I really liked. They were on display but she could not find any info. She went above & beyond & called me after I left to let me know what she found out. This place is fine......just fine though. Disorganized may be a good word but they are kind. My insurance allowed me to get free sunglasses, which sounds good, until the employee adds on a bunch of stuff I didn't even understand to make it $120+???? I had to tell her I didn't wanna pay over a hundred dollars for "free" sunglasses for her to take off all the extra useless things. So I finally get the TRUE free sunglasses. I get the alert my order is ready for me. So you'd think they're actually ready, right? I show up and they have the frames, but then make me wait so they can actually make them sunglasses. Glad the employee opened the case as she gave me them, because she didn't even know they didn't have the tints in! This is just funny at this point but cmon. Check your orders before you tell the customer to come in and almost give them an entirely useless product. read more

Finally done with this place. 1) Scheduled an appointment online 2) Confirmed appointment via text 3) showed up on time and told the appointment was cancelled. I showed them my confirmation and they informed me they would not honor the appointment but I was free to reschedule! The really sad part is I watched this exact same scenario happen with another patient during my last appointment. When they asked me if I wanted another appointment, I told them I already had one and I would like it honored as I took off work and they could not explain what happened. I was basically told "so sad, too bad''. There are many places that can do a basic eye exam. Find them or end up on yelp like me some day! read more

This rating is for customer service and quality of exam. Customer service: Awful! Multiple times I have called and been promised a call back. It has never happened. Last week I called to place an order for contacts (would have spent $300 had they called me back). Because I never received a call back, I ordered online. Sorry, you lost my business. Quality of exam: Doctor was friendly and completed my exam, noting that my current prescription was not accurate (no surprise). However, he didn't seem motivated to get me into a prescription that would improve my vision, leaving it up to me whether I wanted to just stick with my current prescription or try something else. I don't feel like this is great advice and I left not feeling very confident in the exam or his abilities. FWIW, I opted to try a new prescription and it works great. read more

Recently, I visited the Clarendon MyEyeDr and felt rushed to the point of giving up on looking for glasses and left with just my prescription. Fast forward to trying this location. I was so impressed with how Joel and Martha patiently took care of each customer. You could tell they were an excellent team with how they seamlessly managed the busy flow of appointments. Beginning with unlocking the door for appointment only customers, administering temperature checks at the door and wearing gloves and masks at all times. Joel did a stellar job bringing down costs to more my price point- working with me and my insurance on not one but two pair of glasses!!! See what happens when I'm not feeling rushed?!? Martha was very patient and just lovely while assisting my 82 year old mother. I couldn't be happier with their service! I'm switching locations here on out! read more

I went in today to pick up glasses for my kid and to have mine ordered. The girl that worked there refused to do any service for me because she said she is the only one working and it's their safety protocol. I find it odd that the location is open for the day, lights are on and she's in there supposedly working. The door was locked when I went before lunchtime closure. She said it's for safety because she's the only one there and there are a lot of crazy people around, not that I'm one of the crazy one. I find that very odd and rude explanation. She said she can't do anything for me today because of the above reason and that I have to come back another time. Why is she even there working if she can't perform any service for walk in customer? Why were they even open for the day if safety is an issue? I don't think anyone would want to do anything to an eyeglass store. She then brought up that I gave them a bad review. I said I did not recall because it took me a moment to remember. She said "Yes, you did" in an passive/aggressive tone. I wasn't even gonna leave any review about her service last time but got an email from the regional manager asking for my review. I only stated insurance benefits explanation was confusing and everything else was ok, just honest opinion. I called another location to verify if it's indeed their safety protocol when only one person is working and the manager at the other location said he's unaware of such thing and not sure why it was the case and that she shouldn't have brought up my review. I believe this might be a retaliation tactic against me because of my review. Please stay away from this location if you want to get serviced and make sure to check how many people are working or else you won't get served because of safety reason, according to her. I hope upper management will read this long review and fix this service problem if they want business. read more

Setting up my appointment was, frankly, only one of two thing about this location that was even somewhat enjoyable. When I arrived at the office for my scheduled appointment, I had to wait one hour for my appointment to begin, without anyone in the office giving me a "Hello" or "I'm sorry" while I sat and waited. Following my exam, the process of picking out and paying for my frames was easy, with the woman helping me out being very friendly and clear about what style of lenses would fit the frame I selected, and going over how much my insurance would cover and how much I would pay out of pocket. The woman informs me that it will be two weeks before my glasses will be ready - no problem, that's how long it took at my previous optometrist's office. Flash forward to this past Friday, 17 January 2020, and I call to ask about the status of my glasses. The woman on the phone tells me that will be ready for pickup the following morning, so I figured I'd stop by the office during my morning errands. Well, come Saturday morning (18 January 2020), I arrive at the office, and this is where my experience goes from middling, to bad. The man behind the counter informs me that whoever was helping me check out told me that Medicaid would cover the frames - when in fact she said nothing of the kind, she clearly informed me that I would have to pay the full cost of the frames myself - which I'm interpreting as them making a mistake on their end and trying to cover their asses. I'm then told that they will rush my glasses and call me by the end of the week (25 January 2020), which I am taking with a massive grain of salt. Overall, this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with an optometrist. I have no reason to trust that they will call me, and will be looking elsewhere for my eye care needs in the future. If I could give this location zero stars, I would. I was in the store on 10/21/2020 to choose a pair of frames. That experience went smoothly. The store manager was helpful. However when I received my itemized receipt after signing the charge slip I noticed I was paying $75 in extras I would not have chosen. I was given the impression I had only selected features covered by my insurance. I noticed as soon as I got home and called the store. After three calls and leaving two messages. I have not been called back. I have been unemployed for 11 months. It is unfortunate that they are using deceptive tactics to up sell customers. I hope the commission was worth losing a customer for the second time. read more

I'm disgusted at how this place does business. Been coming here for years but never again! My insurance company notified me that I'd be overcharged by this office- when I confronted the general manager numerous times she was not willing to refund me the difference nor could she even figure out what she'd done wrong. When I asked for a corporate number or one for the billing department she gave me a number for an unrelated company called Corporate Billing that has nothing to do with MyEyeDr! I was able to easily set up an appointment online, and the office was very communicative. To a fault, in fact. I received several text messages and phone calls reminding me of my appointment, and even a live person calling to warn me that my vision insurance wasn't covered at this office. This office is brand new, pretty clean, nice, and modern, but kind of small. The forms were very short and easy to fill out. At my appointment, I was seen immediately by the assistant at the front desk who took the initial tests. The doctor then sat down with me and went over everything, and performed a vision checkup. Pedro, the glasses stylist/fitter spent a ton of time with me, and seemed to really enjoy trying on different glasses with me. He genuinely tried to bring the price down as much as he possibly could (he found a promo that brought the price down 30%!). I think he may have forgotten to measure my pupillary distance though. I haven't received my glasses yet, as it'll be about two weeks before they're ready. read more

I am so upset about my experience at this optometrist. They are very deceptive when it comes to insurance. On its website, it says that they take Davis Vision, which I have. I also have another vision plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield. I had a contact lens exam yesterday which was very routine and the doctor did nothing other than giving me the exact same contacts as I had before. When I went to check out, first of all by the time the manager got involved, it took 35 minutes just to find out that my enough of pocket cost for my exam was $135.00. My co- pay with Davis is $20.00 for an eye exam. When I got home, I looked at my benefits and My Eye Doctor is not even a provider with Davis. So why do they have Davis listed on their website? Moreover, they wouldn't even use my two Insurances. They tried to charge me considerably more for my lenses than competitors until I asked them just to give me my prescription and I would get the contacts elsewhere. All of a sudden they were able to price match. What a sneaky and very deceptive place! Today I am calling both of my insurance companies to tell them that they are deceptively advertising that they are a provider when they are not. They are total liars. Speed ahead two weeks. They promised me my contacts a full week ago and they still have not arrived. Moreover, there is an employee there who claims to be the manager but he is no more the manager than I am, with good reason. He flat out lied to me. read more

Everyone and including the doctor were very easy to talk to and friendly from booking my appointment, attending, selecting frames. Picking up my frames were a different story. I went recently to pick up my frames and didn't have a good experience. I told them I came to pick up my frames and my name. They gave me my frames in a bag and pretty much said here. I know the precautions are taken during this time but I didn't get to go inside to try them on until I asked. I wanted to make sure they fit perfect and what I paid for! I am trying them out today but may need to make another trip for adjustments. To add on, it was around 6:30pm and not sure if they were in a hurry to leave. In the end, I felt rushed and was not given the full experience a customer should have. read more

The highlight of this experience and for my review was during the checkout process Aaron and her Manager (not sure the name blonde hair and glasses!) were absolutely terrific. They helped me financially with my contacts purchase. They explained my insurance benefits and made sure I was able to use my benefits before the year was over. I thank them tremendously. read more

I scheduled a contacts appointment on 2/5. My contacts were supposedmy ordered. Three weeks later, I called and the manager tells me, oh it's been delivered. I didn't receive them. he then tells me, I'll order directly from the manufacturer and have it shipped to the office so you can pick up Within 10 days. Its another three weeks later and I still have no contacts. The store gave me a pair to tide me over. Another week later I call and the manager acts like he's never spoken to me before and reads me some bullshit saying, oh I'll have to order them for you. What got me is the fact he acted as if he didn't know me or had never spoken to me before. I called him out on it and he proceeds to tell me, you know what, I'll refund your money and insurance and you can go elsewhere and hangs up. i still can't believe they just happened. I called back and said I wanted to speak with then person in charge and he says, I'm the manager there's no one else. And the Dr isn't available. The one time I decided not to go with LensCrafters because my schedule didn't match up. Definitely never doing that again. I'm still shocked. read more

Awful! My experience at this location was awful. I have been a loyal customer to this MyEyeDr location due to it being super close to my house and very affordable and very easy to schedule an appointment too. But the day I had my appointment for my yearly exam it was terrible. The Hispanic lady (I believe) with glasses about 5'1 was extremely rude and rushed me through my whole process of selecting my glasses. She wanted me to pay for something that my insurance had all ready been covered for. She made me feel rushed, had a attitude the whole time and didn't care for any of my questions. She was very unprofessional, very self centered and not very helpful. She made my whole experience there go from a 10 to a 0. She needs to improve her attitude. I even ended up picking some ugly glasses due to her rushing me. I just hope that when I go pick my glasses up she isn't there. read more

I called the office and someone from corporate told me they would send the office an email but no one is there right now so she doubts they'll get it. Overall, poor customer service experience since I had my initial appointment last week. Office was super busy and the optometrist sped through my appointment. Please look into this matter. Update: It's Jan. 26 and I still have not received my glasses. After waiting four weeks and trying to call for an update multiple times with no response, I finally was able to speak with someone at MyEyeDr today who told me the lenses for my glasses "didn't pass inspection" at the lab, so they would have to resubmit the order. I have no idea when or if I will ever actually receive them. MyEyeDr has lost a customer. If I could choose zero stars I would, but Yelp makes me choose at least one. read more

3 stars, would be 4, but this place consistently makes appointments for a specific time and then you sit there for 15-30 minutes after your appointment time to actually be seen. It's frustrating because it's a waste of the individuals time. Other than that the staff is very nice. read more

The fact that I have to rate this place with 1 star bothers me. I ordered a pair of sunglasses and tried to cancel the next day. I was told it was too late to cancel. This answer later conflicts with what the so called patient relations team told me. Once I receive the glasses, I tried to return and was told each time that the person who could do the return wasn't there. I later find out they have a "no refund' policy. This is not on the receipt, not told at the time of purchase, and not displayed in the store where I could see it. The patient relations team is ZERO help, so do not respond have me e-mail them. The District Manager has not contacted me. As a consumer, I find their policies and the way they communicate hard to believe. I find it hard to believe that I could not cancel an order within 24 hours. There is no way the lab received the product and installed the new lenses. Even if they have, according to the policy I was told, I should have been given a refund on the frames only. I plan to never do business with this company again and will also find a new place for any future eye exams, etc. read more

thank God that this location was near my job I work right up the street at a T-Mobile store and I needed help replacing my broken glasses. It's been over a year since I last had a prescription and I was easily able to walk in set up an appointment and come in the very next day to get a new prescription. The doctor was great and very caring she and her staff had a very tight policy on sanitation which I really appreciated. The two associates helped me pick out a new frame for my lens and they made it very fun almost had me show off my glasses like it was a runaway. I had an awful experience at the Springfield location so I'm glad this time around it was the complete opposite I would recommend this location to anyone. I switched to MyEyeDr when my vision insurance changed. There are a bunch of options in the greater Arlington/Fairfax region, but this one was close to my home and I liked that they had later weekday hours for an appointment (they are also open on weekends). The staff was very friendly and professional with my first visit (exam for contact lens). The doctor was efficient and seemed knowledgeable as well. She picked out the best contact option for my situation (I have a crazy astigmatism). The lens arrived the other day (including an extra sample pair) and so far they feel great. I've never been to an optometrist that couldn't figure out my contact prescription before. Its actually pretty ridiculous the amount of contact lenses she had me try on before leaving only to have me leave with lenses we both agreed I could not see out of and to just "try them out" as if somehow they would magically make me see. I appreciate the staff being polite and trying to reassure me they would get me straightened out in the near future but I'm not sure how that will happen seeing how if she couldn't figure it out before, and claims she doesn't know why they aren't working, what would change when I go back. We all know insurance only covers one appointment per year and I can't go a whole year without being able to see because she simply doesn't know what they are doing. I'm near sided (cant see far) and even sitting at this computer with these lenses in now words are blurred that shouldn't be. read more

My mother came here recently and she was treated terribly. The staff tried to force her into buying horribly cheap glasses when she said she couldn't afford the outrageous prices they quoted her at first. After making a weird car salesman like offer to throw in things for free, my mother said she needed to talk to my husband and I before she decided. The staff surrounded her and were trying to tell her she had to buy that day. It's not our problem you work on commission. You don't have the right to intimidate customers. Awful. Unfortunately, my experience doesn't even warrant one star. On August 26, I ordered lenses for my existing frames. I was told I could do this -- no problem. My order should have been ready on September 8. I received a call weeks later saying it would need to be done at another location. No problem. After a month passed, I called on Saturday, September 30 to ask about the status of my lenses. I was told that it couldn't be done, and I needed to purchase totally new frames and lenses. I was surprised that all this time passed with no communication. I asked for a refund. I was told no problem it will be processed on Monday, and I would receive the receipt in the mail. After I didn't receive anything in the mail, I called again today, Thursday, October 5. I was told they couldn't refund my payment because they needed the chip on my credit card. My card doesn't have a chip. Anyway, I went there and finally received my refund. Honestly, this is probably the best example of terrible communication and nonexistent customer service. Training is desperately needed. For a new location trying to establish itself, one would expect so much better. Very disappointing! read more

My previous review was all 5 stars; however, I now feel that the rating must be lowered significantly. The 2 stars are for a few of the staff members at this location. I am still pleased with how I am greeted and remembered by Pedro and Alex. Overall they have provided strong customer service. Now for the reasons why I am lowering the rating. Orginally I ordered 2 pairs of glasses. Although no promises were made that the safety glasses would arrive on Dec. 27 Pedro did inform me that he would ask the lab to rush the order. The promised date was right after Jan. 1 2018. Jan 1st came and went, then a few more days and a few more. When I would call to speak to Pedro I was told he was either off from work or he was coming in later, but would return my call. He did not. I was able to pick up the other pair of glasses on or around the 27th of Dec., which I was nicely surprised. Rob delivered my glasses, when I asked for an adjustement, he "tinkered" a bit stepped back and said "they look straight" and that was all that was done. When I reported this to Pedro he informed that Rob was not working at this particular store any longer. Fast forward to Jan 27 when I went back to the store to have my glasses adjusted, much to my surprise Rob was once again working at the Bailey's Crossroads store. If all of this was not a reason to lower the rating the sage continues. I selected a new farme and ordered now a 3rd pair of glasses. The promised date was Feb 8. This date came and went, I called on the 9th to inquire where my glasses were and was told, "we left a message on your home phone, your glasses will not be in until Feb 13!!! Bringing the number of days from order date to the anticipated date equaling 16. The reason given again and again is the lab this or the lab that. In other words pointing the finger. Now I have no idea if the lab is the cause or there are other reasons, the bottom line is pretty straight forward. If the lab is delaying orders then corporate My Eye Dr needs to find a new lab or have a very long talk with the lab that is providing the contractual service. I do understand that the days of an on sight lab producing glasses in a few hours or a day are a thing of the past. Sixteen days to produce a pair of eyeglasses that have a simple progressive bifocal prescription and an anti glare coating is above and beyond the normal turn around time. I do hope I receive my glasses on the 13th, once I do it is highly unlikely I will return even for an adjustment. There are other optical shops in my area that I am sure for a small fee or free will adjust my glasses when necessary. In closing I am sorry that Pedro will more than likely take the hit on this review, he is a very concerned and appears to be caring professional. Perhaps corporate should review who the company contracts with to produce ordered products, so their employees are not taking a hit from the consumer or corporate office. read more
