AWFUL Experience!!! I'm studying for a exams and I am having difficulty reading the computer screen, and most of my exams are online. I went there and they conducted the entire exam, but when came time to dilate my pupils I asked if they could hold off because I have exams coming up and need to study that afternoon. They refused and said if I don't dilate my eyes then they would not give me my prescription. I asked if I could come back after 2 weeks when my exam would be finished, and they could dilate them then, but give me my prescription now so I can see. Still refused to help me. Marie works the front desk and she just doesn't care. Jillian was nice and took more effort to help me. Every time I went in there I was served by yet another person and none of them knew me as a customer. There is no handoff at all. Went there because they were listed as providers for my vision insurance. Customer service was awful. They did not return calls, were not clear about what I needed to do about leaving a deposit, lost the frames that I chose, left messages on my phone that were related to other patients, chipped the frame before I even received my glasses, and although my optometrist faxed my prescription over twice, they were unable to find it In their system until I insisted that they look again. It was there, they just didn't look. When I went to pick up my new glasses, they just handed me a package and did not confirm that the glasses fit properly, or that the prescription was correct with my pupillary distance (vital with progressive lenses) and never even asked about my particular viewing needs (computer work, reading, driving, etc.) Overall, they are inattentive to customer needs and their product is a commodity service. I will only return to get my new glasses adjusted and an unchipped frame hopefully. If they blame me for the chipped frame I will come undone I'm sure. read more

I finally called around to see what places took my insurance and found this place within my network. I walked in on a day that I was free (wed at like 3:30) thinking that if they couldn't accommodate me today I would at least make an appointment but they were able to get me a time slot within 30 minutes of me arriving there. Staff were very helpful and polite. Inside is rather clean (some seats a lil worn from use but thats to be expected) and a lot nicer than you expect from the outside. They had a pretty good deal that threw in a pair of sunglasses (worth about $30) and i didnt really have to wait long at all to check out. They then shipped me my contacts within a week. Really exceptional service and the examination was quick and easy going. I really felt like the people knew what they were doing there. Dont knock a place cuz of a few people's bad experience. I almost did not come here because my bf said it had bad reviews on yelp but if more typical people rated this place they would see that they're worth checking out. read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF. MAYBE RACIST SINCE I SAW ANOTHER CUSTOMER THAT WAS ACCOMMODATED BEFORE ME. After a knee surgery, I made my appointment for July 2, when I arrived having hard time with pain and crutches, I was never let in and over the phone the receptionist told me that my appointment was for July 7th. I understood the problems they were having due to COVID-19 so I accepted and came back on that date. Came here in a pinch when my sons glasses broke and his regular doctor couldn't fit him in for 2 weeks. Was skeptical based on previous reviews. However, I have to say the staff was very friendly. The doctor and his tech were very friendly and extremely thorough. They explained everything to my son and I without us even asking. Just be aware that the frames they have out are the ones they have in stock - not "display models" like most places. My son had a pair picked out before we headed back, and went we came back out he went to grab them and someone else got them. Also - we were advised his glasses would take 2 weeks to come in.. they arrived 3 days later. Super quick! read more

This was a complete waste of time. They are listed as a PP on my Blue Cross Blue Shield Vision insurance so my wife and I both called to confirm they took our insurance. I specifically asked the clerk to call my cell phone number if they had any issues with the insurance prior to the appointment. So my wife took the time off of work to go to her appointment scheduled on Archer rd in Gainesville, FL. After she arrived and waited for her appointment time she was told "oh we don't actually take that insurance". So a complete waste of time and if their Dr's are anything like the staff they hire I would be scared to send my worst enemy to this place for service. My recommendation would be to avoid this place at all costs!!! read more

When I called the Gainesville number and made my very first appointment, whomever took my call acted like I was a great imposition. The earliest they could get me in was a month later (I called early December and my appointment was for early January). When I arrived early for my appointment, no one greeted me. I had to figure out for myself who to check in with towards the back of the shop. I spoke with the black lady who was very terse and informed me that my appointment was for the Ocala location. (Why would someone call a Gainesville number for an Ocala appointment. I didn't know at the time there even was an Ocala location. When I made the appointment the scheduler didn't say anything about Ocala). I almost walked out, but they said they could "fit me in" if I waited. So I waited. The optician was ok. Nothing fancy about the eye exam ("one or two, one or two, one or two?") When I finally got my glasses they were ok as well, but I didn't go for the bifocals, anti-glare, etc. Now I wish I had. I've gone back just once, to have the frames straightened after I sat on them. That went quickly and well, with no charge. But the whole time I was in the office the staff were too busy socializing and Facebooking, even though there was a sign on the door looking for a Front desk/billing and coder. I'm looking for a more professional office. The front office staff is too much like a McDonald's than a professional place to entrust my vision care. read more

This is by far the worst service I have ever had from any medical practice. It took me over one week to receive my medical records. I was first told it would take 48 hours. After not receiving these records, I was told that I was not in their system , under their medical records. The secretary tried to put the blame on me stating I probably went someone else . I was later informed , the secretary did not spell my name correctly.How can this happen if I signed a release of records. The optometrist,however, whom I saw in 2016 was nice and informative but was told he does not work there anymore. I wanted to like this place for convenience but From my experience I would go elsewhere. read more

As a first time patient in the Gainesville office, I was pleasantly surprised with the service. The tech, Vinnie, was pleasant and explained the process. Dr. Ho was very professional and thorough. I was able to make a selection of various frames from a variety of prices (Thank you Michelle). I didn't realize how off my last Rx was until I got my glasses. I took my sons to Lange in early January 2013. The optometrist was wonderful. He called me a few days after the appointment for a follow-up consultation and to answer any remaining questions that I might have. After that, everything went downhill. Two weeks later, we received a phone call saying that the frames that my sons had picked out had been discontinued, and that we needed to come in and pick out new frames. The last week of January, I took them in to pick out the new frames, and the girl at the counter told us that there must have been a mistake, and that they didnt need to pick out new frames. We were assured that the glasses should be ready within a week. A week later, I called about the glasses and was again told that we needed to pick out new frames. The first week or so of February, we went in to pick out new frames. The gentleman at the counter was very pleasant, wrote the boys' selections on a Post-it Note and assured me that they would be ordered right away. For the next 6 weeks, I called weekly for a status and was told that the glasses hadn't arrived yet, but that they should be in at any time. In mid-March, during one of my weekly calls, I was told that the glasses that the boys had picked had been discontinued and that we needed to pick out new frames. I advised the woman on the phone that we had picked out the new frames in February. After some searching, she told me that I would need to call and talk to the manager early the next week to try to sort things out. I called the manager the next week and was told that the glasses had been ordered and that they should be in at some point in the next week or two. In early April, I called about the glasses and was told that the boys needed to come in and pick out new frames. I went over everything again, explaining that we had already done that. The woman on the phone suggested that we had not selected frames from the correct tray for our insurance coverage. After some searching, she opened the tray with the frames and found my sons' names ON THE POST-IT NOTE that the gentleman wrote it on in February!! The glasses had never been ordered. She assured me that she would place the order immediately and that the glasses should be ready in about 10 days. It is now mid June. My boys have waited 5 months for their glasses and still do not have them, but I have been assured that the glasses have been ordered and should be in sometime within the next week. read more

Waited for 1 hour beyond scheduled appointment time. The tech that did the vision test was very nice. However, I again had to wait for the doctor in this small exam room for probably another half hour. Finally, paid up and left only to get home and find they had given me a printout of another patient's prescription, not mine. Had to return to the Villages office and spoke with the very unconcerned nasty attitude office manager. Will never return to this Eye Care Center. They should change their name to Eye Don't Care Center. read more

The eye exam was rushed and I ended up with a sub-par prescription for my myopia (nearsightedness) that was too strong. Now, reading at moderate distances with the glasses is a pain. Little care was taken to get the prescription absolutely right -- definitely got the feeling I was a name on somebody's clipboard that had to be dealt with, but nothing more. You'll get a better exam somewhere else in town. This is fast food eye care. read more

We just stopped in to check out their frames and found such a great selection. They carry several high end frames that you usually can only find in larger cities. Service was great. We were given honest feedback and we ultimately found the perfect frames. They even had the finished glasses sent to the Ocala store for our pick up (since we live in Ocala). I managed to badly scratch my cornea late one Friday afternoon, and after calling half a dozen places in Gainesville, Lange was the only one that could fit me in. They were extremely professional and kind, and Dr. Atkins was great. Follow up care was scheduled right away, I never had to wait long that first night or on subsequent appointments, and generally everything about a bad and painful situation was made better by going to see them. I'll be going to them for all of my future eye care. read more

I sure wished I'd looked at reviews before going there! I chose them because they got me the quickest appointment but I wished I'd waited! I have good insurance and still came out paying over $700 out of pocket combined for my two kids and myself. One child's glasses came about a week and a half later. I was told they accidentally swapped my sons lenses and mine when making our glasses so they had to redo them. About a week and a half later my son's glasses were ready. Another two weeks and mine were ready. I had my contacts in the day I picked mine up. Just tried them on today and they are DEFINITELY not my rx so I'll be making my 5th trip back there in a month and a half time. Never have I paid this much for our yearly eye wear, never have I had to wait a month on glasses, AND it's still the wrong prescription! I asked to just get a refund on mine and the manager Mimi said they were a special order item. I'm not done showing my butt with these people, but I will NEVER go here again!! read more

I have had the pleasure of dealing with MyEyeDr in Tallahasse which was great. I moved to Gainesville and continued my services as I never had any issues in Tallahassee. I am here to say that it's been nothing but a terrible experience with this company at the Gainesville location. My exam was ok and the doctor gave great service but the customer service and the turn around time for things to get done are awful! I didn't receive my glasses until a month and half later. While that would have been ok because mistakes happen but nobody at the office gave a courtesy call in all the time that passed to inform me when I would be getting my glasses. I called every week to get a follow up and nobody knew anything. I tried to reach out to the manager who seems to never be there or is always busy and never got ahold of her. I then reached out to the area manager and left a couple of messages. I also took it upon myself to go up there in person and when I did receive some kind of ETA on my glasses they were unfulfilled promises. I had a lot of issues with the girl at the front desk. She was very rude and in many ways unkind about the situation. I also recently ordered my replacement glasses for my daughter as both of us were patients there and the person ordered the incorrect glasses. The only good experience was my doctor and Iris who is the other customer service rep that works at the front. read more

The selection was pretty phenom.after a good while of trying to decide which pair or pairs to get the optician coaxed me into her helping me decide. And to my surprise it wasnt about how can i steer this guy to the expensive ware.I think it was very fair in that regard along with my exam. I do appreciate the good service and follow up afterwards! Employees over the telephone are rude, overall service is slow. It took 3 weeks to get my glasses! When I checked back after being promised them in 10 days, I was rudely told, "that's 10 WORKING DAYS!". If I want rude and slow, I'll go to Walmart and save 60-75%. But one shouldn't have to deal with rude and slow AND pay a high, PREMIUM price for it! I won't go back! read more

In the event that you need an eye exam, DO NOT go to Lange Eye Care center. I have been trying to get my prescription for 3 months. I went in after three trips in, to finally get a correct prescription and waited for 35 minutes during which I watched/heard the staff who was to help me come in late and chat until I got into a room. Then proceed to put the incorrect contacts in my eyes again. The front desk assured me that the visit would only be 15 min to get a new trial of contacts. After 30 min I went to the front to reschedule or figure out what was going on but the staff was a bit busy chatting and unable to help me. So I left. So they called my husband (emergency contact person) to tell him that I left without paying for my visit or contacts, both of which should not have been charged anyway. The manager I spoke with on the phone later told me that their intention for the call was concern that I didn't have the correct lenses in when I left, therefore a medical emergency.
