When I called MyEyeDr, I was able to be squeezed in on a Saturday with less than 24 hours notice. It had been several years since I've had an eye exam and I desperately needed glasses. With a medical condition that I have, it was suspected that I had optic neuritis. For not much extra, they had a machine that was able to take a look inside of my eyes and at my optic nerves so that we can easily see and keep track of my condition. Once I decided on glasses and paid, I was told it would be 1.5-2 weeks to get the glasses made and ready for pickup. I received a call within a week. i am very happy with this location and definitely plan to continue coming here while I am living here. read more

The eye exam process was smooth and easy, and the optometrist was very nice and patient. However, buying a pair of new glasses at this shop turned out to be a horrible experience. First, the wait was just awfully long, and later the measuring process seemed disorganized. Today, 3/20/26, around 12:30 pm, my husband and I visited My EyeDr at 7367 Atlas Walk Way, Gainesville, VA. I was looking for a specific pair of frames since I already had my prescription. Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience. From the beginning, we felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. The lady ar the front desk didn't greet us or show any friendliness. Instead, she continued working on her computer without asking any questions. We were the only customers there. The frame I wanted was on a locked shelf, so I politely asked her to hand it to me. She looked at me, seemed to hesitate, and remained in her chair the entire time. Her attitude clearly indicated she didn't want to help, so I told her she seemed too busy and that we should leave, so we did. Such behavior is unacceptable in a customer service role where courtesy and professionalism are expected. I hope management addresses this to improve the experience for future patients. read more

I had the worst experience with this location. I spent more than two hours at the place, all because of this check-out lady, who wasn't helpful at all. She didn't explain clearly my frame options and prices, although all I wanted is to order my glasses and get out of there. Worst of all, in the middle of our checkout process she started helping another guy check out! It took her almost an hour to finish with him! It was so unfair! In addition, she was checking people in, explaining warranty options, performing front desk duties. In short, it was a mess. I'm definitely not coming to this location again. I went to this location to get my exam. When I told the sales lady I didn't have time to shop for glasses because I had to get back to work, her attitude changed from helpful and engaging to rude. So I went to another location for the glasses...and has a complete 180* experience. I needed an adjustment so I stopped by this location today because the other is closed on Sundays. When I told the 'kid' that one arm needed adjusted because it was sliding he replied with a slight laugh. He made the adjustment, which still isn't right. Exam never even tested my computer glasses. When I picked up my long distance glasses they dropped them. I asked for them to be adjusted and the tech realized the frame was broken (maybe bc she stepped on them) so they were re-ordered. Then they 'tried" to put the lenses in the 2nd pair but the lens were titled in the frame. There was huge gap and you could cut yourself with the frame. The Tech took cheap Kleenex to clean my lenses when she handed them back to me. One I realized the lenses were not in correctly I made a THIRD trip back to have them try and fix the lenses. They broke the frames and tried to tell me that the frames were made so that the lens could pop out the center. I wasted over 1 hour and 40 minutes between 3 trips while they tried to fix the frames. I got my money back and went elsewhere. Also tried another MyEyeDr in Frankilin Farm and they wouldnt adjust the frames either and told me to go to my original place. I went to My Eye Dr because I was able to get a last-minute appointment to deal with a number of issues in my right eye. I saw Dr Krista Greene, who initially thought it was an exam because I could not sign up any other way online, and she quickly changed the objective of the appointment to diagnose the issue and determined that I had a partially torn retina with some bleeding. She recommended I get this taken care of right away and called the Retina Group of Washington to get me an appointment. Dr Greene diagnosis was spot on, and the Retina Group of Washington conducted the Laser Surgery later that day to fix the retina. Review your bill before you hand them your card. I went to get glasses from them a few days ago. I got an eye exam and wanted to get lenses replace in some old glasses and order a new pair. They take my old glasses to the back room to check the lenses size and end up braking my glasses. So they tell me they will give me 50% off my frames. I ask for my bill and they only gave me the bill for my eye exam. When my glasses get in I ask them for my bill for my glasses and to my surprise. I didn't not get the 50% off my new frames. The new frames cost $490 the discount was only $180. Safe to say i won't be going back. I wish I had check on yelp before I booked my appointment. read more

Update-after the below review they called me and got me right in!! I received an email (to my junk mail because they did not use the email I set up the appointment with) 24 hours before my appointment saying it was cancelled. They said the reason that the appointment was canceled was because they tried to call to confirm and no response from me. First, I have no missed calls from them. Second, who confirms over the telephone why wouldn't they use text or email. You would think before emailing me that it was canceled that they would email and said that they tried to call me. Long story short the appointment that I took off work for was now canceled, because they never tried to call me to confirm. I do not recommend ever going to this location. We arrived at 3:59p due to traffic and limited parking and were quickly turned away, asked to reschedule. The appointment was scheduled at this time due to my son working and having to take off early to make it. It was extremely upsetting to be treated as if our business was nothing more than a commodity to this corporation. NEVER GO HERE. We came in needing new glasses for my husband. We came in on Monday the 6th and were told they would have them by Friday the 10th. We told the girl working with us (I wish I had made note of her name) that we had to have them by Friday June 10th, as we would be moving the next day, Saturday. She said, and I quote "oh yeah, that won't be a problem." So we coughed up the near $400 for his new glasses. Well Friday comes around and we call asking if they are ready to pick up. They then tells us they will not be ready till the 18th, next Friday. We explained we were told without hesitation that they would be ready by Friday the 10th. We requested the order be canceled. A manager spoke with us and said he could rush the order and have them finished earlier and he would over night them to our new location. On Tuesday the 14th, we were notified by text they were finished. We called that day and spoke to a customer service rep again asking if they would be overnighted to us. She confirmed they would be. Thursday the 16th, still no glasses. We call again and ask for tracking info, and again confirm they were sent overnight. The rep confirmed they were. We looked up the tracking info provided, and it states they are not sent overnight and will arrive the 22nd. Appalling. I wish we had demanded a refund when we first found out they would not be ready in time. From that point on they lied to us without hesitation multiple times. They are over priced and absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never shop here, I know I never will again. Update 6/24/16 Well his glasses finally arrived to us here in Texas on the 22nd. So much for them being overnighted. To add even more salt to the wound, the glasses don't fit his face! He loved the frames in store, but they arrived loose and one of the "arms" is bent outwards so if he isn't careful they slip down easily. The frames were certainly not loose in store, otherwise he wouldn't have chosen them. These are seriously damaged. So we decided to look up the closest location to us. I took my 11 year old son here for an eye exam and new glasses. We worked with Justin and I couldn't have been happier with his professionalism! He was very knowledgeable and helped point us in the right direction, all while giving us time to decide and never making us feel hurried. We have had to come back a few times in the last 4 months (trying contacts, and already needing to use the warranty for the glasses) and every time we go Justin is working. This review has nothing to do with the employees. They were polite and helpful. As far as the quality of work, I would give a negative 10 stars. My first pair of lenses arrived with the prism in the wrong lens. My second pair of lenses seemed that the prescription ended in the middle of the lens and I was unable to make anything out clearly on the entire right side. My third and final pair of lenses arrived and were visually distorted before I even put them on. After the employee helping me out cleaned them three times they were still cloudy. One star for the staff, they were professional but I have to give -3 stars for quality, timeliness and accuracy. I was told the glasses would be ready in two week but it took three weeks for the first glasses to come in. After three days of wearing them, I felt like something was wrong and then I realized they just forgot to include my transitions. I bring them back as soon as I can (now it's four weeks from original order) and I was promised new glasses, and the order would be "expedited." Well, two weeks later, no call. I call and was told that my "new glasses were ready". So I head over and after 20 minutes I realize something is wrong and finally get someone to admit the lenses were wrong, again. Then when I requested a refund, I was told a check would be issued. I imagine it's probably a different process that just a refund because it had been so long since the original purchase. Now, almost seven weeks after my original order was placed and I'm stuck with my old glasses, no refund and needing to take more time to go through this process, again at another place. Lesson, don't waste your time here. Again the staff was nice and they didn't muck this up but don't waste your time. Edit 1- a week later, no refund and no release on my insurance so now I'll have to wait longer to get my glasses. Edit 2- two weeks after the "refund" and THEY STILL HAVEN'T RELEASED THE INSURANCE. I had an AWFUL experience at My Eye Dr. The doctor I saw was TERRIBLE. It was the first time I went to My Eye Dr; so, I brought the boxes for my contact lens proscription; so, she would know what my previous prescription had been. She didn't put it in the system; so, the purpose of bringing them into the store was defeated. She also gave me a prescription that was so horrendous, I had to go back to the doctor for a new fitting. When I returned, I was very vocal about my dislike. Fortunately, the doctor I saw the 2nd time was great. She gave me a really good prescription and worked with me. The manager was also great. I do think the girls working behind the counter are rude and not friendly. I am glad they ended up being able to help me, but the inconvenience makes me never want to go to My Eye Dr again. Wonderful eye doctor and staff! (I am writing this after going through the full process of my exam all the way up to receiving my frames). The staff was all pleasant and kind for both of my visits. Someone addressed me the minute I walked in despite the office being busy. The doctor was thorough, informative, efficient, and pleasant. She made sure to ask repeatedly if I had any questions without rushing me through the steps of the exam. I really appreciated her demeanor. The woman that assisted me (I wish I got her name she was awesome) with finding frames I liked was patient, helpful, and cheerful. She gave me great suggestions, pulled all kinds of different frames after asking what I liked and even suggested some she thought would work. Then she walked me through my insurance and pricing before sending my order out. She also set the expectation that my glasses could take up to 14 days to return. As it turns out my glasses were in a few days shy of the 14 day mark which was nice. I popped into the store, was greeted immediately, and handed my glasses within 5 minutes. They were a perfect fit with no issues just exactly what I ordered and expected. Got to set off on my day without issue. Don't fool yourself, these are not health care providers. They are a glasses factory and that is all. It's shameful that the people working here can even be called "doctors". My husband was involved in an accident on a Saturday and his glasses were destroyed. He was suddenly left almost blind which is extremely disorienting and making him feel unwell. He was unable to function. We called and left a message with the emergency line several times. We were finally told that they don't consider lost glasses an emergency and office would be open on Monday morning and we could call to make an appointment then. It was Saturday evening! While I understand someone losing their glasses in the sofa cushions doesn't constitute an emergency, I thought perhaps a patient of theirs having gone through the trauma of an accident and now sitting through the secondary trauma of being nearly blind might at the very least warrant a call back. The kicker is that he had JUST purchased $500+ prescription sunglasses from this store and they were just sitting in the store waiting to be picked up!!!! While not ideal, it would have been a way for my husband to at least regain some eye sight until a "doctor" could have seen us. Other things we could have done had someone just had the decency to call us back? Purchased a pair of contacts to hold him over until new glasses could arrive or received a copy of his prescription so we could get a new pair ordered on Saturday rather than on a Monday thereby cutting down the days of blindness by TWO. Regardless, the courtesy of a callback is not too much to ask. These are not actual doctors who care about patients. They are there to sell you glasses and that is all. My family and I have been loyal patients here for 10+ years. The last 3 years I have only came back to this location to see Dr. Neda. She is so welcoming and I adore the service she provides. Besides her, the customer service here is beyond poor. This years appointment experience is the reason I will not be returning. I live in Reston and drive to Gainesville just to see this doctor. Scheduled my appointment for 8/20/2021. Showed up to my appointment only to be told my appointment was cancelled. Apparently they cancelled my appointment after confusing me with another patient and was told I would not be able to be seen until 440 (2 hours after my originally scheduled apt). I was told they may be able to squeeze me in before for a mistake their staff made. I love Dr. Neda, but the other staff (especially the young gentleman in the front with the half pony/bun) do not provide an experience worth traveling out to Gainesville for. read more

She helped me to choose and evaluate numerous pairs of glasses to narrow down my selection to a top three. She also priced the glasses out for me with a nice discount. In full transparency, I ended up getting a pair of glasses at Target because I liked them a little bit better than my favorites over at MyEyeDr. But, Kim gave such outstanding customer service that I felt she deserved some "Kudos!" I called at 3pm on a saturday afternoon and I was lucky that they were able squeeze me in at 5pm. I was late which I felt very very bad about however everyone was still really friendly. The girl who checked me in was really friendly and got me all squared away to see the dr. Once we finished everything that needed to be done I went in with Dr. Farahmand. I will say the Dr. was without a doubt the greatest eye Dr.! I wish she could be my Dr. for everything. When the exam was over, I browsed around while waiting my turn to see Angie, the woman who helped me settle on the frames I wanted to get. She too was extremely friendly and not pushy at all. From the get go I made it known that I wasn't looking to break the bank on a pair of glasses and she completely agreed with me. Over all a very good experience! I read some of the other reviews (after I had gone) and I did not get any negative vibes. Especially since I was late and they still were very friendly and helpful :) I will say I still need to go pick up my glasses (in about a week) so hopefully I still feel the same way after I pick them up! Picked up my glasses yesterday, exactly when they said they'd be available, and it was a quick in and out. I've been coming here for about 4 years for both me and my kids for glasses and contact lenses (as well as exams) as they take our insurance. I've really never had any complaints. The eye exam offers retinal imaging as an additional cost option, which saves the hassle of dilation. The exams are thorough,the staff is very friendly and courteous. At our most recent visit the associate took a great deal of time to help my son pick a pair of glasses that he liked, and did not try to pressure us at all into higher cost frames. The Dr. is very sweet and if she feels you need to see a specialist she will certainly inform you. My son now sees a specialist, but I continue to go to this location. Staff is very friendly too. I was extremely happy with the doctor. She was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. I was also happy with the associates who assisted me in selecting my glasses, lenses and options. I did find, however, that their prices were extremely high for frames. The less expensive frames were ugly, not fashionable and all about the same. The selection was extremely limited. Tehir expensive frames were just that and more. Of course, they were lovely and the selection was quite a bit better. I must say I ended up paying more for these glasses than I have ever in my life. Don't get me wrong...I like my new glasses and the new prescription is fine...but the cost was, IMHO, exorbitant. Yes, I know I could have looked elsewhere, but a bird in the hand...I was there and they had product I needed. Would I go there again? In a heartbeat, especially if the same Doc was there. I might be inclined to get my glasses elsewhere to save four or five hundred bucks...yes, that was hundred...but I'm not unhappy with my purchase. read more

Today I encountered the worst eye dr I've been to the service they would not even open the door for you until after 15 minutes. The service there was not as expected they took 1 hour and a half to get 1 contact examination. The other eye doctor I go to they have excellent doctor's but at this eye doctor the doctor's were arguing back and forth with me never coming back. read more

I had an evening appointment and the office decided to close early without notifying me and after sending an appointment confirmation text late in the afternoon. I arrived prior to the appointment time to find the door locked and the lights off. They said that they closed due to weather which would be understandable (even though all the businesses around them were open), but failing to speak to me or leave a voicemail and also confirming the appointment by text message is poor customer service. When I complained all they wanted to do was reschedule the appointment and tell me that the confirmation system is automated and they can't do anything about that. Fortunately there are plenty of other places to get an eye exam that have good customer service. read more

Outstanding eye exam's and doctors. (The only reason I use My Eye Doctor) The other staff in the office take away from the professionalism you would expect going to see a doctor. Price for frames and lens is much, much to high. After you finish with Doctor it's like you are handed off to a used car sales person who is totally focused on your insurances and trying to get to you buy the over priced frames and lens. I can purchase two pairs for glasses (frames and lens) at Costco for the price of one pair at My Eye Doctor. However, the sales person tired to tell me that purchasing glasses at Costco is not good. It this was true why has Consumer Reports ranked them No.1 for glasses year after year based on Quality, Customer Satisfaction, and Price. read more

Beware! Unless you know to ask the right questions, the sales associates will try to upsale you and lie about it. I went here to buy temporary glasses until my contacts came in. My son broke my current pair of glasses by accident so I just wanted a BASIC pair of glasses under my VSP plan. The lady who helped me told me that I had to get the ultra thin frames with the night glare and anti scratch protection. Her total $225. After 20 minutes of asking her about the glasses and my plan and the $10 basic pair that my plan covers (as long as frames are under $150 which I did have frames that were $130) and her yelling across the small store to her co-sales associate about the possibility of me getting the basic lenses which she thought were too thick and I would not be able to see out of, she finally asked the technician who worked there if he would be able to make the frames fit inside the glasses. She said that her told her that he did not know if that was possible. So I asked if I could talk with him myself since he would be making my glasses. . . .she finally admitted that they would not even be the ones making my glasses - that VSP would make my glasses. I told her to put in the order for the basic pair and call me when they were done. I was so heated that I left a very long message with their customer service department and I guess the sales person was reprimanded because when I came in two weeks later to pick up my glasses, she recognized me as soon as I walked in. She stopped helping the customer she was with, got my glasses, and a case. I tried them on and the fit perfectly and the visibility was perfect. I was in and out in 5 minutes. Like I said, beware. Ask questions. Dont let them fool you into buying what you dont need. I told their CS manager that if she would have told me the basics, then introduced products that would have benefited me, then that would have been fine but for her to act and imply that the most expensive items was required was down right deceitful. I will never go to that My Eye Dr again. read more
