Well, I have been there several years now and the person who I was seeing was only there on Saturday morning and this last time I was helping a friend who was recovering from Surgery and I was staying with her in the Villages, so I got my last pair of glasses at the MyEyeDr in the Spanish Springs office and I am back home in Haines City, FL now, so I will try to get a appointment with the MyEyeDr in Ponciana and hopefully they will give me the kind of service that, I am used to getting, as they have always been very Professional and Experienced, with Great Service. Just spent an hour waiting for an annual check up. The priority, as it seems with most medical providers in the area, is to build a patient base. Existing patients aren't a priority. I witnessed this firsthand today as a handful of what I assume were new patients were filling out paperwork on a clipboard. They were all called as I sat waiting. The ladies at the front desk had so much attitude and I could take a hint and maybe I'm in a peaceful place in my life. Let me premise this by saying I usually don't leave reviews but as someone who works in customer service my experience today was just so gut wrenching I almost don't ever want to return to this location. I booked an appointment online and there was a glitch in the system so my appointment was canceled. Even so they made it work and the manager was able to squeeze me in. The exam went fine but it wasn't until I reached the point of fitting for frames where things took a turn for the worse. I don't recall her name, but the lady who serviced me was extremely rude and discourteous. It began with her being combative when I questioned what I was being offered based off of what my insurance covers. I explained and showed her my policy and what my benefits stated and not only did she double down she rudely shot me down saying "I've worked with this insurance for 10 years and that's how it's always been, so you can call the insurance if you want" she then excused herself to come back and tell me they were contacting the insurance for me. She came back and turns out I was right, instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding she remained on the defensive saying the office hadn't updated that info yet and had been unaware. After this I remained calm and courteous seeing no point in saying anything further, and went on to pick out frames and while cold and clearly urked she did vaguely assist with picking out the frames. It wasn't much better when I finally picked a frame as she was weirdly insistent on a more expensive pair. I still liked the ones I picked and we started going over the cost. She only briefly explained that it would be $77 more from what was covered for the contacts and so I said "I don't need that many" and asked for less pairs. Then she sped through the rest. I had my dad with me and he specifically asked me in front of her if I was getting anti-reflective on the glasses and I said "no that I didn't need it", right there and then and right in front of her. She didn't say anything and charged me for it but I didn't realize till after I had paid and reviewed the receipt. I went back in and asked her for a refund of the $85 I had been over-charged, only to be met with another bit of her nasty attitude saying "ok I'll give it back to you" and as I stood there baffled about to saying something she cut me off with "what you want a receipt?" to which I promptly said yes, she then told me to sit and began to process the refund while rudely remarking "I went over everything with you" she didn't, but I still didn't say anything at the time and even thanked her for the receipt and left. However, the entire experience with her was horrible and left a poor taste in my mouth, not only did she not ask if I wanted any of the things that would incurr additional cost, she also sped talked through the cost assuming I would catch everything after I had told her I had a headache from having my eyes dilated. She had and awful smug of disdain on her face and the sass and over talking was just uncalled for. I will be back to collect my glasses and contacts but I'm sure I won't be back after that. read more

My husband and I visited the Poinciana, FL My Eye Dr location during the Christmas holidays. The staff were excellent! My husband and I had different doctors and both were thorough and did the best eye exams we have ever had. My husband has glaucoma and needs special care. Both of us are seniors and we have a regular Opthamologist at home; but, have never had the accuracy and amazing vision we have now with our new glasses! The GM took special care to explain all lenses (anti-glare, progressives, transitions, etc) and the staff assisted with glasses choices. We received our new glasses more than timely and we love our new and best vision ever. Next time we visit Fla, we will visit them again! Initial customer service was a bit askew, as they were jammed and the proper sign-in sheet was not available. But from thereon things progressed more than admirably. First I was taken immediately after I selected my frames and spoke up, along with profuse apologies for the short delay. (I had made an appointment ahead of time.) My optometrist, Dr. Nguyen, is a very rare find among all the ophthalmologists and other eye specialists I have previously seen. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and very friendly, and pleasingly answered an unusual question I posed without balking as two other doctors have. (Granted, not every patient is well-versed medically, so my issue was of that caliber.) The other staff, from assistant Fran to the person making recommendations on product selection and handling insurance and billing, were all topnotch. My pickup 2 weeks later took about 5 minutes and I really like the durable eyecase, double cleaning cloths and lens cleaner included. The other optometrist diagnosed my husband's serious eye condition whereas no other specialists had found it. His new glasses corrected his vision issues immediately and, like mine, look great for our face shapes. Negatives: Pre-exam rooms and corridor look like they are under construction. Inside one, the eye coverer (used for testing eye pressures) fell on the floor after being used on me. This made me wonder if they ever clean these things. The choice of eyewear, while extensive, is not varied enough in terms of shape; multisided (hexagonal) and aviator shapes were like well-kept secrets. Nonetheless, I intend to return next year and hope they add weekend hours. Parking is more than ample. MeEyeDr. is located between DaVita/medical offices and Aldi, parallel to Cypress Pkwy. Wait time to speak to a customer service agent in regards of picking glasses can take over an hour. Very bad customer service. These people place no value on your time. First appt, waited for an hour after my "appointment" before I was seen, ok, sometimes you have to wait for a doctor. Next visit, walk in to pick out glasses. 45 minute wait in an empty room to see a salesperson. Then, 15 minutes of watching them click on the computer without talking. Finally the glasses I wanted were gone, so he came back with a bin that looked like the Dollar Tree readers. Hideously overpriced (more than 3 times what they cost online) glasses that you have to wait three weeks for. I will never go back. If you are going to charge $400 + for a simple pair of no-name glasses you should at least pretend to have customer service. You are not doing me a favor by taking my money. I will get more, better, for less elsewhere. I advise anyone else to do the same. read more

Not good making appointments from Veteran's being sent there from the VA. After I made the appointment, I get a phone call from the office asking for insurance. The lady that called me was of zero help. This is the second time this has happened. The first time I had to cancel appointment and wait for the referral letter from the VA. I called again when I got the letter and again got a phone call back after the appointment was made asking for insurance information. Again I explained I was refereed to My Eye Dr by the VA. The lady that called me did not even give me the time of day to read the letter to her. I asked for the fax number so I can fax the letter I got from the VA, she gave me the fax number and I tried many times to fax the letter and every time I got a message of no answer from their fax machine. I called again to let them know their fax machine is not working. I was put on hold and after a few minutes the call was disconnected. I will keep trying and if not taken care of tomorrow when I go to the office I will ask to VA to send me to a different place. read more
