I (or my parents) have chosen most based on cost, and have had mediocre at best results. When the time came for an upgrade I decided I would search for value, not cost. I visited a few highly rated establishments, and decided on 730 North. I was glad I did, because it was the best experience I have ever had with my vision. Really nice people that take their time to get it right and listen to my concerns. My first experience was great but something was off with one of the lenses. They ordered a replacement and honestly after that I had the best vision I ever remember having. I just recently upgraded again and my experience was once again terrific. Not the cheapest, but in my opinion the best value.

This review is to acknowledge the fabulous service my son received when he damaged his new glasses while away at college. We had purchased the warranty, and as soon as the office received the UPS tracking number that his damaged glasses were on the way back, they processed his replacement glasses. No, in this day and age of texting and email, etc., I don't feel it should be a requirement to actually be forced to take time to make a voice-to-voice phone call to get an answer, especially for simple, basic, non-patient-specific questions, when it's so much quicker and easier to just fire off an email and move along with other life matters needing attention. Just happened to come upon Yelp to read all the reviews, and it appears that the customer service (or complete lack thereof) sounds like status quo there. To me, this is a sign of how the business overall is, and a sign that any future dealings with them would result in equal frustration. Something I've already dealt with years ago at Sears Optical at Gurnee Mills... I won't deal with that kind of crap anymore. Lesson has already been learned. In fact, I drive by the place very often in my daily life and it's hard to tell whether they're even still in business; there's almost no signs of life/activity as viewed from the outside. I had several of these tests as time went on thinking that these tests were covered by insurance. Then I received a bill for the one of the tests and discovered that the tests were not covered by insurance. Total surprise! Then, when I went to pay that bill, they informed me that there was a prior bill for these tests. I was never informed by this office of the past bill. They gave me a small discount and I settled with them. I felt mislead and was out $344.00. Ouch. They lost me as a patient. I liked the doc, but I always had the feeling that I was being used as a source of income for this practice. I am skeptical that the tests were needful. If you go to this practice, hold on to your wallet.

When I entered their offices, was immediately taken in and was seen by Dr. Ronald Freeman who immediately relieved my paid and treated my eye. I don't recall the receptionist's name who got me right in but she was very caring and urgent in getting me treated. Dr. Freeman was outstanding, kind and reassuring that I would be okay. My eye is doing much better and on the way to recovery. I give Dr. Freeman and the receptionist the highest rating and appreciation.

Was looking for a shop open on Sundays - and it turned out that they had a same day, last of the…read moreday appointment. The whole staff was courteous and professional; however, Dr. Weinstein (the Optimetrist) and Sylvia (the Optician) truly stood out. Dr. Weinstein took extra time and caution to do a complete exam including a skilled slit lamp one as there were a few surprising findings in my vision. She also proved to have a deeper knowledge of retinal pigmented lesions than any Optometrist I've encountered before. Sylvia pushed me to try more frames than I typically would have, if anything trying to downsale me on some, and provided (excellent) advice not solely on the looks of the frame but also the most detailed fit advice for frames that I've had (and I had good opticians before). All of this extra care from their team happened without making me feel rushed in any way, although we were getting perilously close to their closing time. A++ service for both eye health and optics!

Was charged for a service that was not performed, was promised a follow-up referral that never came, and was subsequently billed for a fee that I was specifically told would be waived. Very unprofessional and wasted my day off.
