As soon as I walked into this location I was greeted by a gentleman and older lady at the front desk, Patty. She asked me if I wanted to do contacts and I told her I was unsure and she told me I need to tell her in that moment. I was very caught off guard by how rude her tone as if she was annoyed that I came to the doctor to learn more information, as I've never done contacts before. I told her no in the moment, then she gave me paperwork to fill out. I filled everything out and she asked if I wanted to look at frames I said no because I want to keep my frame and just replace the lenses. From this point on she was speaking in a very condescending and fake sweet tone calling me sweetheart. I also told her I wanted to get a pair of prescription sunglasses and asked if I could apply my insurance credit to the sunglasses. She told me yes that would be fine. I explained I had questions about contacts and asked if I decided later to do the contacts if I could get them another time. She said no because you'll have to do your exam today. I declined then since I didn't want to decide in that moment. Then while I was signing the consent forms, she was talking out each section as I was meant to sign. When I was trying to read the information she had her hand on the paper while I was trying to read it to explain everything that I was signing, not allowing me enough time to read it and pressuring me to just sign it without reading. I was overwhelmed and again caught off guard, but decided to let it go. I had an exam with the Doctor who was great no complaints. I asked her as well if I could apply my credit for the sunglasses and she said yes also. I then got out to the sales floor picked out a pair of sunglasses and was told it would be $400 for the sunglasses alone. I asked about the credit I have for my insurance and it was explained that I was only able to use that on one pair of glasses. When I explained that I just wanted the lens changed in my regular pair, they told me I would have to get a new frame from my regular glasses. Also, I can't get two pairs and apply the insurance credit. It would only be if I were to get a new pair of regular glasses. So they told me I was not able to apply my insurance that I have for a frame and lenses on the sunglasses when I just wanted new lenses in the frame I already have for my daily pair. I was upset as I was told by two different people, the doctor and Patty at the front that I was able to apply the credit to sunglasses. I ended up leaving very overwhelmed based on my experience from the moment I walked through the door. I have no complaints about anybody else in that office aside from Patty at the front desk. I understand the sales associate I was speaking with was just doing her job to the best of her ability. I was unfortunately given incorrect information prior. It is very unprofessional to act in such a condescending manor towards clients, and again it was from the moment that I walked up to the front desk. I was very respectful towards everybody in the office, and everybody was very respectful to me aside from Patty. I heard her also talking with a coworker, who I assume was the doctor in a back room saying that "now she is crying because she couldn't afford anything". I hope you look into her specifically I am not sure if it was racism or what as I am a person of color. I find it extremely disappointing that this is how somebody of her age treats clients while she is working in her position. read more

Don't bother going here. We've been here and the manager, Erika, informed us that "you can't bring in your dog" so you have to leave your dog in a hot car! Also doctor never there and they're not even open - signs on the door "closed!" Right in the middle of the day!! read more

I have seen Dr. Hernandez (who is amazing) for more than 20 years and was beyond satisfied until the practice became My Eye Doctor. Ever since then the new staff is incredibly dense and uncaring and their policies beyond aggravating. I endured because of Dr. Hernandez until today. Because I was not available when they called to confirm my appointment that I planned and waited for for weeks to get when my availability matched theirs and didn't call them back their system (so I was told) automatically cancelled my appointment. It doesn't matter that I've been a 20yr + patient who never missed an appointment, I was told my time was taken by someone else and there was nothing they could do but reschedule me (which would be another 2 weeks!). Horrible, rude service where the patient does not matter. I found Tampa Eye Clinic where they were incredibly accommodating, kind and helpful. read more

I am very disappointed in this MyEyeDr location. We have been coming here for 3 years and this last time has been nothing short of a disaster. Dr. Schlesman did our eye exams and made a mistake on my prescription. When I received my reading glasses, I was told it was the wrong prescription, however, when they remade my reading glasses, I was not able to see close up. As for my distance prescription, that was not correct or it was way too strong. I could not even wear them. I scheduled an appointment for Dr. Schlesman to do a recheck to see what was wrong and after waiting there for 40 minutes, I realized that this was not the place for me. They have poor scheduling practices as well as poor communication. I do not recommend this place. I feel like the several hundred dollars I spent for my glasses was a complete waste of money. Now I have to wait until next February so I can have a proper eye exam. read more

So you drive all the way there and find out you don't have an appointment. This has happened twice. The company is too cheap to buy software so that they can confirm by text or email; and too cheap to take a chance that you won't show up and they don't make any money. read more

The first time I came for the exam the staff was actually very nice but the 2 times I've been back it's like they already got my insurance money so they can care less about providing a great service! How did my lenses go from $200 to $449 when I specifically said I didn't want anything extra. Brooke the lady in the front should learn that you can get your point across without sounding rude. Update: I received a call from Jamie and she was so nice and professional. She explained to me that the reason it was so high was because the insurance wasn't applied to it yet so my total payment after the insurance was $124! I mean my experience with Jamie over the phone surpassed any that I had at the actual business. I really appreciated her calling me back and making sure I was satisfied with the order. read more

I've never had to wait more than five minutes to be seen and the staff is very friendly. They offer great office hours and I've never had any trouble getting an appointment, even last minute. So I actually live in MD now and go to MyEyeDr there but while in FL, I forgot my contacts at home... This office was so helpful and gave me a 5 day supply of my contacts without charge! This was a huge lifesaver for me as my prescription is extremely high and wearing glasses all day and driving is not an option. I like that they are very on schedule with appointments so you don't have to wait. The Dr. was thorough and answered all my questions with patience. The receptionist and the saleswoman seemed very impersonal. They added a $25 warranty without asking me if I wanted it. You'd think they'd have a magnified mirror so customers with poor eyesight would be able to actually see how the frames look on. I'm looking forward to wearing my new glasses when they come in. read more
