4/8/23 After visiting the Monuments Medical Clinic, I was on my way to getting a massage, when my eyes caught sight of My Eye Doctor. I have been needing an adjustment and a cleaning for the longest time. The location at Mosaic Center in Falls Church Virginia is horrible. The ambience in the place is unbecoming, but not this location. From the moment I walked in the place, I felt a warm friendly feeling. My eyeglasses are pressing into the sides of my head and I don't need this to continue. The cleaning of my glasses and the tight feeling of my skull have both been fixed. I always go to the myeyedr in fallsgrove road, rockville MD for eye exam. I requested for PD(Pupillary distence). In the different days, they told me the different numbers, and said if I need to measure the PD in the store, they will charge me $30. People go to glasses store for eye exam for glassese need. eye exam has reponse to check and let know all information needed for getting glasses, should not has additional charge for PD. While Dr Kisamore is great, I will never go back there again. I had been going there for more than 6 years. The last time that I was there they charged me $68.17 saying that is the amount my insurance would not pay. They submitted a claim to Medicare and my supplemental insurance company. I received an explanation of benefits from my insurance company that shows that My Eye Doctor is a preferred provider and that they paid the amount that Medicare did not pay up to the plan allowance and that I owed My Eye Doctor nothing. To date I have not been able to get My Eye Doctor to refund to me the $68.17 that I paid them. I have been unable to get to anyone at their main office on the phone who can help me. The manager of the store just says he cannot refund the money and claims to e-mail the office and he will get back to me. I have NOT heard back from him or anyone else at My Eye Doctor. read more

I picked up my glasses at this location, after ordering them from DC. The service was quick and simple. I walked in, told them my name, and tried on my glasses. I was a little worried at first because they felt really uncomfortable. I told the manager and after a couple minutes of adjusting, they fit perfectly! He told me to come back anytime if there are any problems with fitting, which made me feel even better about giving them my business. I have been a client at myeyedr for about 3-4 years for eye exams. In Jan 2020, I decided it's time to get a new pair of glasses, and I met Alejandro as my sales representative. With him, I felt pressured and deceived. The experience was straight up uncomfortable. Anyway, I left the store feeling awkward, headed over to the eyeland optical in north Bethesda to get a second opinion. The ladies there were very transparent and forthcoming with the pricing, provided me with a break down of costs and my insurance coverage, everything printed out. Avoid this place by all means!!! Ended up paying $800 even with the generous vision insurance coverage!!!!!!! My wife has a vision coverage that allow her to buy frame with allowance of up to $250, in addition most of the lens and lens options are covered either $20 copay or up to $45 copay. My wife went to this location and ended up paying almost $300 for a pair of glasses even with this coverage! First, this location charges outrageous amount for the frame. My wife chose Prada frame which is sold for about $135. This location charged $350, almost the triple of the amount charged by others!!!!! In addition, the insurance allows her to purchase contact lenses with the allowance of $250 for everyday use and $0 copay for medical uses. Even the doctor explained to her that she needed premium fit (which by the way cost $121 even with the insurance) because her lenses are for medical uses, they ended up charging astronomical $473. So her plan initially was to pay minimal but she ended up paying almost $800 even with the generous insurance coverage!!!!! She went to the place to complain but they only accepted to cancel the insurance for glasses (which costs $29 and only covered glasses of $100 or up). My wife explained it was automatically added. I also went to this place the next and see what is going on. The doctor was very nice. However, the sales associate seemed to be only interested in selling things and asked me if I just wanted to order the lenses without frame. It did not make any sense. If you want to pay a lot of unexpected expenses and outrageous amount for glasses, I recommend you go to this place. I walked in to get a simple fix for my glasses, which the nose pad had broken off. A fix that's supposed to be simple had us wait for over 30 minutes. Also, after leaving, I noticed a new and very noticeable scratch on my left lens. All I did was try to get a simple nose pad replacement and I was made to wait over 30 minutes and left with a scratched lens. This was a horrible experience which is unfortunate because my first experience here was the opposite of this. read more

The worst experience ever! We made appointment and arrived on time. The shop was full of customers. We let the customer service knew that we were here and no one taking care of us. A bit later we were giving some forms to fill out. We were standing in the shop and waited patiently. We even had time to pick some frames to try and the sales lady was surprised we were not seeing the doctor yet. After around 20 minutes, a optical staff? came out and just said that we were late for our appointment rudely. I told her that her manner is so rude. The other staff corrected her that we had been waiting for long time. She just walked away! Unbelievable! They were not trying to correct the issue but asked us to make another appointment! Definitely not the most economical option but I do not cut corners on something as important as my vision. The staff are always friendly and do a good job of explaining different options when making a purchase. First, I think the optometrists there are FANTASTIC!!! I have seen both Dr. Kisamore and Dr. Spirer, both are excellent and I will continue to see them. They get 5 STARS everyday. I will NOT, however, purchase eye wear from this location. The storefront employees are high pressure sales, especially when you make clear you only want a prescription after your exam so you can purchase your eye wear at another vendor like Costco which has an excellent reputation for eye wear in both cost and quality. On my last visit, I caved and purchased a pair of glasses and quickly regretted that decision. They were able to pressure me because they would not just give me the prescription I paid for. First, my purchase was for the blue transition lenses, I got gray and they had to re-order them. Second, a few weeks later, the lens just popped out. They put it back in and tightened it, but then, a month later, it popped out again. I could pop it in, but it would easily come out. I tried to have them fix the issue, but they said after 30 days, they would not fix it and I would have to pay for a new pair because I did not purchase the insurance. Really??? They never told me about the insurance when I made the initial purchase, but that they won't stand by the products they sell for more than 30 days is unacceptable. Their frame/lens out of pocket costs run into the hundreds of dollars and to only last just over a month with no recourse. I demanded my prescription, got it and took it to Costco and couldn't be happier. The eye wear was ready in 3 days, not 2 weeks like myeyedr, the frames feel very sturdy and the lenses feel secure in the frame. The frames, and most there, were only $59, this is for a designer pair, Stetson, not a Kirkland branded pair, the lenses were Transition. I paid less at Costco with no insurance backing than I did at myeyedr with insurance for a pair that looked almost identical to pair from myeyedr at a fraction of the cost and much higher quality and better customer support. Go to this location for the exam, but take the prescription somewhere else. Go to Costco, Parker Warby, anywhere. read more

I called to schedule an appointment this morning. They told me that they could take me at 9:15am. I asked if I could be out by 9:45am as I have a meeting in couldn't be late for... And they said I would be done within 15 minutes. They even told me I could be 5 minutes late and I arrived at 9:19am (I can't teleport... 4 minutes late and the place was empty). Anyway as I waited and waited and others started to show up and they saw the others before me. I even heard the others walking in had 9:30am and 9:45am appointments. Both of those appointments were seen before me. I didn't leave till about an hour late and I was very late for a work meeting. The people here don't respect your time. I understand that this is also a larger chain and I intend to file a formal complaint with corporate. Everything above is purely factual. The only feeling expressed above is that they did not value my time. It is their responsibility to manage expectations appropriately and deliver value to their customers. They are offering services to us at a high rate, they don't need us sitting in their lobby for hours just so they can get business in through the door to squeeze you for every penny you have. read more

Three starts because only three people are nice! My experience in detail. I walked in a rush and worried I was going to lose my appointment since I was 9 minutes late. I apologized and said the following: I'm sorry I'm 9 minutes late I'm coming from work. Right away the 2 girls in the reception area looked at me like I had killed somebody and talked back with a bad attitude. I was asked for my insurance and not even a hello. One was on the phone treating someone even worst than me. I stayed quiet afraid that I had walked in this place with the worst customer service in my 5 years of experience of coming to this office!!! This 2 girls rolling their eyes and acting like I am no one and they don't want my business. Usually the service is with a smile and a hello. And all I could hear it was sarcasm and because I have to a please one time. The girls were not even wearing a name tag unlike the other people in there. I went in for the first part of the examination and really if it wasn't because Dr. KENNETH KISAMORE is such an amazing Optometrist I would have walked away and taken my business someplace else. I went in late and they all looked tired, frustrated and annoyed. This 2 girls really ruined my night!!! Worst customer service in the entire shopping center. I went to eat after and everyone else is nice. I really don't get why they were so mean to me. I was so unsatisfied with their service and the horrible ambiance that I asked ERICA if I could pick up at a different location. I stayed because ERICA answered all my questions, helped me deal with my HSA/insurance, was professional and reached out to her coworker ERICK and they both help me order my contacts to be picked up at a different location closer to my job. ERICA went the extra mile and made me 2 extra copies of my receipt and got me the rebate for my contacts. It is because of this 3 people that I will continue going to this location once a year. But still really disappointed. Only 3 of the 6 people working were helpful. I got really bad attitude from 3 people and it really should be 2.5 starts! Really sad I did not do anything bad enough to be treated this way :( I wasn't even given the free glasses that they normally gift to the I for the business. Worst eye exam I've had in my 20 years of wearing glasses! I had to return 3, yes three times, to get lenses remade! After all that, they are still wrong! I refuse to go back at this point but there's goes $241 down the drain. I don't know if it was the exam (also a second one done) or the company they chose to make the lenses but it was a complete fail. The first 2 lenses were progressives and now I have bifocals. Who wants bifocals!? I had asked for my money back but they pushed the bifocals on me and said they would be SO much better. Guess what store manager, you were wrong! All I can say is that I am glad the new calendar year is starting because I'll be using my insurance to go elsewhere! read more

I went to the eye doctor on the first week of December. Bought brand name sunglasses, and 2 new lenses for my 2 pair of glasses. I was told everything would be ready in 2 weeks. I got my sunglasses within 10 days. Great! The rest, it's December 30th and still waiting. One pair of my lenses came in on December 19th. I went there and they broke my glasses that they were suppose to go in. I also waited for over 40 minutes for them to come clean that they broke, they gave me no brand name of glasses to replace (had no choice on the pair either) I'm still waiting for my other lenses to come in and for a manager to call me to discuss. Supposedly, manager was going to call that day. Bad customer service. They lied about when my lenses would be in, and manager doesn't care obviously. Or manager would have called me as it's been 2 weeks. Also, I left messages. No excuse! Don't go there ever. read more

I've been a customer at MyEyeDr Fallsgrove location for over 10 years. Each time I've been there has been problematic. My recent experience is my sunglasses lenses are defective and I was informed their return policy is 30 days. I travel with my job and was not able to meet their 30 day window. I called within the 30 day window and explained the issue but wasn't able to get the glasses to them in time. I missed it by 15 days. I have paid over $500 for my glasses and to have lenses that are visibly wrong coupled with a company that doesn't accept returns after 30 days is horrible and speaks loudly to how they feel about their customers. I will NEVER do business with this place again. If you can't accept responsibility for your work and expect the customer to accept the loss for something that is not their fault, clearly you don't care about the customer and your focus is on profits. I don't do business this way. And I refuse to feel used. My money is too valuable to throw away and that is exactly what I did. Never again. read more

This is my 3rd year visiting this office and my experience just keeps getting better and better each year. This year takes the cake! The current staff is great and the new remodel looks amazing. First off, whenever I enter the office, the atmosphere is bright and warm and there's a great music selection playing. The ladies at the front desk are welcoming and attentive to every patient. They checked me in quickly and smoothly and already had my insurance benefits figured out. Dr. Kisamore was great, as always. He takes his time and genuinely cares about getting my prescription perfect. The optician that helped me this year was excellent as well. Very disappointing experience! The prescription was wrong and the lenses were not the thin kind I ordered - the manager said the prescription was "very close" but offered to let me return the glasses (that I couldn't see out of). I never left the store with the glasses! I was told the credit of $574 would be mailed rather than credited to my credit card and I would receive the check in two weeks. No check arrived. Called again and manager said he would issue a credit to my Visa. It's been 4 days and still no credit appears on my account. It's been over 6 weeks - no glasses and no credit. Pretty outrageous! Beware of this business. A saw them with an appointment and asked them at that time what would be their fee over and above what my insurance company would reimburse. They gave me a clear figure of $49 on top of the insurance reimbursement of $45. After the eye exam they charged me $130 instead of $49. When I stated the number they had given to me over the phone they completely disowned it. Wanted to see if I made the enquiry call. I showed it to them on my phone. Then they said they can't do anything about it. Further on they affirmed that their charge for a non-insured exam is $100. So I asked to treat this as a non-insurance exam. They refused. Quite ridiculous and surely not becoming of a chain eyeglass store which is in my insurance network provider list. Reporting this to the insurance company also. read more
