From the very first conversation, he was professional, responsive, and honest about what could be done and what it would take. He took the time to walk through my pool with me, explained the issues clearly, and gave me options instead of pushing the most expensive solution. That kind of integrity is rare. The work itself was excellent. He worked on the pool heater, the lights, the chlorinator . Everything was done with top-tier materials and meticulous attention to detail. He was clean, respectful, and worked efficiently without dragging the job out. What really stood out was how he explained everything, took him time, without gouging me for $$. If something needed tweaking, He treated my property like it was his own -- no mess left behind, no damage to the landscaping, and constant updates so I always knew what was happening. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We did the "Green-to-Clean ($800)". It took SIX weeks. We had to repeatedly follow up because they would go ~2 weeks without showing up or communicating. When we asked, we were told there was an emergency situation, we tried to be understanding, but there was no proactive communication on their end. We decided weekly service ($250/month). After the initial clean, we signed up for weekly maintenance. Within 24-48 hours of each visit, chlorine levels would drop back to 0 ppm. GP&A's explanation was that our pool system was outdated and needed to be replaced. However, we had two separate pool inspections done when we purchased the home, plus 3-4 other pool companies assess the equipment, none of them flagged the system (installed in 2017) as a problem requiring replacement. Upsell attempts: GP&A quoted us a full system replacement (under $6,000) and then a filter replacement (~$2,200) before they said they could continue service. We decided to move on to another provider. End of service: We asked if they could continue maintaining the pool through the end of the month. Their last visit was six days before the final day of the month (image attached). The pool was visibly green and in poor condition by end of month (again they serviced it 6 days ago and it is this green; not adding enough chlorine). When we brought this up, they responded that the condition was "consistent with the unresolved filtration issue for which repairs were recommended", essentially placing responsibility on us for not purchasing their repair package. We were looking for a long-term, trustworthy pool service company. What we experienced was poor communication, inconsistent results, and recommendations that no other company has supported. It wasn't the lowest but it was the most complete. He spent more time talking with and understanding our wants than anyone else. So basically everyone else's quote was incomplete. Kevin's estimates was the only one I knew what we'd be paying when all said and done. He was spot on. And on top of this he was out here working non stop for a couple days. Something that sets Cerulean apart is that they are honest and truly look out for their customers. When it comes to maintaining the equipment they remind us so we don't forget. Also, and really important to me, they truly work in our best interest with repairs and replacements of the pool equipment. They've saved us a bunch of money in helping us get all the useful life out of the equipment. Their communication is also excellent. We have two dogs. I asked that they text before they come so I can ensure the dogs are inside. They always text 30 minutes prior to arrival. I have tried to get help from all kinds of residential services and I can't even count how many never even return a call. I was thrilled that Scott called right away and on a weekend no less! Scott and I talked through the problems with our pool pump quickly and he was able to diagnose the probable issue. Within three days, Scott was at our house with all the needed parts and replaced the pump motor and other needed parts in an hour or so. Scott even refused to take our money until he was finished. I fully recommend PoolTex and Scott for pool issues. I do not often give that level of endorsement, but I think it is definitely deserved in this case.

At least 3-4 of them have said the same basic thing--"I'm here because our last guy didn't know what he was doing and messed everything up." The tech who left my backwash running and drove off was not the same tech who shut my valves off without explanation, and neither of them was the tech who covered the side of my house in DE while cleaning the filter, or the tech who installed the salt system and left pieces of PVC and other trash scattered in my yard. Final straw was waiting until my salt system was at end of life to "gift" it to me so that when it inevitably fails, replacing it will be at my cost not yours. I called today to cancel my service. -------------------------------------------- Do not recommend. Every couple of months I get a new tech who tells me he is here to fix things because the prior tech was an idiot. They have driven off with my backwash running, which I didn't discover until the pool lost 4 inches of water. They have turned my valves completely off and then left without saying a word. They have left trash in my yard. And finally, the salt water system which they said was included in my monthly price--once it got older they very graciously "gifted" it to me, and now that it belongs to me, just a few months later they say it needs to be replaced for $1200.
