I switched to Pool Troopers on June 14th and so far the experience has been lackluster. When we signed up, we asked for weekly service and requested they fix an outstanding repair item. Pool Troopers instead has been coming bi-weekly, hasn't fixed the outstanding item yet, and the pool has turned green twice. I just called customer support (July 15) and was told that Tim, the rep who signed us up, actually placed us on bi-weekly service when I had been very clear with him that we were wanting weekly full service. Giving two stars (rather than one) because they did install the salt water chlorinator as promised and have at least come bi-weekly - even if the pool is green and unswimmable now because of them! The customer service rep promised that Tim would be calling me back to fix the issue. I hope so but as of now I would not recommend Pool Troopers. I will update this review as my experience with this company progresses. Update: 7/16/19 After my review, Patrick at Pool Troopers reached out about taking care of the issues. Tim came out same day to add chemicals to take care of the green water issue and my service has been placed on weekly as initially requested. While we had a lackluster first month, I'm happy that the Pool Troopers team jumped into action when I voiced my concerns. I've raised my rating from 2 to 4 stars and will update as I learn more. read more

Quick note to the PoolTroopers employee who responded to my prior review without reading it. I have lost count of how many different technicians have come to my home. At least 3-4 of them have said the same basic thing--"I'm here because our last guy didn't know what he was doing and messed everything up." The tech who left my backwash running and drove off was not the same tech who shut my valves off without explanation, and neither of them was the tech who covered the side of my house in DE while cleaning the filter, or the tech who installed the salt system and left pieces of PVC and other trash scattered in my yard. Final straw was waiting until my salt system was at end of life to "gift" it to me so that when it inevitably fails, replacing it will be at my cost not yours. I called today to cancel my service. -------------------------------------------- Do not recommend. Every couple of months I get a new tech who tells me he is here to fix things because the prior tech was an idiot. They have driven off with my backwash running, which I didn't discover until the pool lost 4 inches of water. They have turned my valves completely off and then left without saying a word. They have left trash in my yard. And finally, the salt water system which they said was included in my monthly price--once it got older they very graciously "gifted" it to me, and now that it belongs to me, just a few months later they say it needs to be replaced for $1200. read more

Especially great service from Joshua Ramirez, he makes sure my pool is always clean, makes all his appointments and communicates any issues with my pool system. Wish I could select less than a zero star rating. Had to mark as a one star to get it to post but wish I didn't even have to give them that high of a rating, but I need to get the word out to all. DO NOT USE POOL TROOPERS. Highly recommend NOT USING Pool Troopers ever. You will thank me later for this advice. Updated- thanks for responding as I caught you all in another lie. I have email proof of that. Why not be at stand up company and call and get a copy of the email that your company sent us. I'm also surprised by negative reviews about Pool Troopers. May be it is just a bad apple. But let me tell you. Dan is the person whom I contacted at Pool Troopers. My spa has never been so clean before until his team started servicing my pool weekly. Give Dan call (214) 531-9207. My pool was destroyed by this person named Joey. His company was something like Joey Pool Service. He is always late or absent. I think Joey could have done a better job. But he chose not to do that for my pool. I would 70% of the time, my pool was green when Joey worked on it. But as soon as Pool Troopers took over, they came out 3 to 4 times to make sure that the pool is free of algae and they cleaned the filter at least twice to make sure that it is completely clean when they start the weekly service. These Pool troopers' employees are serious people. They are punctual and meant when they said to you. Excellent excellent service. read more

Very bad service, I had a lot of calls to them in the summer till I decided to cancel my service, when canceling my service I was told that the service was paid in advanced so I sould receive any other charge and I did, when I called them regarding this problem they told me "I apologize, the information provided was wrong, service is paid afterwards". I can't confirm this but totally upset with their answer. Don't go with them. Update: Then, if you charge afterwards, and I cancelled on Sep 19th, I should receive a refund of 11 days of service, that's $47.66 read more

After watching the quality of our pool decline over a period of a month we discovered that the technician was doing absolutely nothing. We were on hold with the company's customer service line for over two hours and then promised that someone would come out the next day. We had to wait a week. Pool Troopers provided a "solution" to repair our pool which resulted in water draining from our hot tub and the reduction of water flow to a trickle. We are now having to hire another company to repair our pool after Pool Troopers removed the salt system without notifying us. Hiring Pool Troopers has been a horrible experience. read more

It is the WORST pool service ever. They will be very nice before nice to get you to sign up & suddenly treat you like you are nothing. The customer service is Awful, the technician came to my property SO many times and did ABSOLUTELY nothing whatsoever (I saw videos through my security camera) & yet The company would send an automated timely email letting me know the service is competed. When I sent those videos to the management, Patrick (the manager who was very difficult to reach) was far from apologetic & said you are just one of the 400 customers & three weeks later, I'm still waiting for a call back from the "management" DO NOT waste your money & fall for this SCAM company that's great at sending emails to give you a false sense of service being performed. read more

I can no longer recommend Pool Troopers. We have been using them for 4 years now. While we have always had problems with lazy techs lying about backwashing, customer service has always been great and notified a supervisor and he would come out and backwash the right way, bumping and running it long enough and running the hose all the way to the street. Tech just came out to service and supposedly backwash. Didn't see him run the hose to the street so went and checked after he left. He must have just unrolled the hose maybe halfway and let it spray all over the stones and deck on the side of the house. Then just piled up and I'm sure shoved the expensive hose back. I have had Pooltroopers servicing my 2 pools for over a year. They are impossible to reach-they don't answer the phone and when they do, they put you on hold for over 20 minutes, they tell you they are sending some one out to address the pool issues and after over 2 weeks they never sent anyone out, they don't have a regular service date and now both of my pools are greens. Once again these people are at my house to clean my pool on the wrong day when I have guests coming today to swim. The pool tells me no swimming today. I called and spoke with aurara and all she could say is my day wasn't on Wednesday and I told her it always has been on Wednesday. She argued and said she couldn't change it. I was given a 15 minute warning via email that the technician was coming! Totally unexpected of him to be here today. It would have been good customer service to email me LAST week telling me my pool would be serviced on MONDAY! I've asked for "Dan" to call me numerous times and NEVER has he. Its been almost 2 weeks without our pool working. It should have been fixed a long time ago. Today someone finally came out to fix it the "final" time. But I came home to a foot of water in my yard. And a quarter of my pool water is gone. The pump has been running on dry for who knows how long. Yall have no emergency # on the weekend. This is very wrong and someone needs to come fix it asap. We were planning on having people over for easter on sunday at the pool. Your inability diagnose and to fix things in a timely is inexcusable. Our pool was filled with dead algae and debris even as Pool Troopers were doing the chemical and cleaning (no vacuum) service every other week. Enough said. As other posters have said, it is not entirely a bad service, but, it is not a proactive service either. They will not notify anything that is not working, or attempt to fix it, or even provide an email update unless you keep plugging at them. read more

Our pool looks bad more than it looks good with this company. They will note problems in their system or leave a note about it but won't leave an estimate, won't follow up. They didn't scramble our lock before leaving this last time, so anyone could've come on in. Replaced our pool light and the screws used rusted within a week. I called to cancel service and the guy on the phone said that "it's just a pool" when I told him how frustrating it was to not get our pool problems solved time after time. Simply put - terrible and should be avoided. On several occasions, they have not come out to make repairs as scheduled. Nobody answers their main phone number when we had questions. Had 20 people over for a party this summer and we couldn't use the pool because it wasn't cleaned properly. I could go on and on but it's a waste of energy. I had been a customer with pool troopers fin Dallas for past 1.5 years. Horrible Experience. The pool always had a problem. Dan never answers his phone or replies back. I had mold in my pool the week before 4th of July and I called them and Dan showed up and told me he fixed everything. I get back from work and check the pool to find that my vaccum is broken , the Chlorine powder is sitting at bottom of pool. I call Dan and send him photos and he never replies. The lady answering the phone at headquarters, tell me to relax ..it is just a pool !!. The pool pump goes bad so Mr Dan tell me to buy the pump and let him know when I get. I receive it and text him and he doesn't reply for 5 weeks so I hired a different company to place it. Mr Dan will replace one of my pool lights and the next week the whole light comes out of scoket. Ofcourse it takes 4 weeks till mr Dan is nice enough to come to house to fix the problem. I am more mad at myself for not terminating the service sooner but I am very busy and didn't have time. There is no quality control by Dan or Patrick. The pool lights again went out and I send an email to Partick asking them to let Dan check it [I gave up on trying to contact Dan directly ] and Patrick told me that Dan will fix the problem and then they ended my service. My wife kept asking me why not change the service if they are that bad and I am glad that Patrick made it easier for me. Horrible service!! read more
