Tried this place for the first time tonight. Walked in at 6:30, they close at 7:00. Ordered takeout. Gyros are big (medium size) which is nice, but the meat was not warm. The fries that came with the meal were soggy and not cooked through, also not hot. They are fresh cut and they could have been delicious. Also orders deep fried mushrooms, they were not cooked as the mushrooms inside were cold. Really wanted this place to be good. Maybe they wanted to go home?!?! read more

Wanna hear a shocker? I LOVE Greek food! Okay, that's not so shocking. I studied abroad in Athens, Greece back in 2011 and lived on a diet of Gyros and souvlaki. But back then, dinner only cost me 2 euros... now Mykonos Gyro in Mentor, Ohio isn't 2 euros, but it is still very cheap! I wish a nice place like this was near my home or near my work instead of all the way out in Mentor, Ohio! But I was in the area, going to the dentist appointment, and had this joint on my want to visit list for a few months, so I picked up dinner to-go after my appointment. This is a sort of new, small, authentic Greek eatery, run by very kind and helpful Greek gentlemen. I ordered a small lamb/beef gyro meal to-go. For $7.99, it also comes with fries. It only took 5 minutes for it to be ready and after my 20 minute drive home, I opened up the takeout box and saw massive portions of food! If I was smart, I would have reheated my fries in the air fryer and not the microwave, but I am sometimes dumb and had reheated fries. I think that if they were freshly eaten right when I got them, they would have been better. However, I would have liked them seasoned. So I just used some seasonings I had at home. The gyro, for being a "small," was big, filling, and delicious! The vegetables were fresh, the gyro meat was tender and plentiful, and the pita itself was quite nice. No complaints! I will continue to try to support this small business whenever I am back in Mentor. It was so good! read more

We enjoyed our visit to Mykonos Gyro ! We went for lunch on a Saturday and a couple of tables were filled, but there was plenty of seating. We were greeted right away by we think was one of the friendly owners. When you order a drink, it's in a cooler that is either a bottle or a can. My husband got the Kalamata Specialty Gyro and it was humongous!!! It was filled to the brim with Gyro meat -Kalamata olives -feta cheese, and french fries. My husband said it was DELICIOUS .! The only problem is that there was so much of it. It was way too much for him to eat. I got a regular Gyro with french fries. It was good, but I won't say that it was the best that I've ever had. We also ordered the pierogies that came with tzatziki sauce. They were very yummy.! ** We really wanted to mention the MUSIC that they play here. I guess I would call it Pop music, but in the Greek language!! They had it at the Perfect Volume level to where you could enjoy the music but you could also have a nice private conversation.!!! Fantastic!!! We really loved the music! ** The service was very good. And the food came out fast. We took some of the baklava home to eat later. My husband loved the baklava! He said it was super buttery and delicious! I guess my suggestion would be that if you order one of the specialty gyros, you should take someone with you to split it because they give you A LOT OF FOOD! What a great place. Went for a quick dinner. Friendly greeting right away. We ate there, not a lot of seats but nice. Went for Gyros, but the menu has much more than that! The Falafels were fantastic, didn't get a pic. We ordered a couple Gyros, which included fresh cut fries. And, Let me tell you, the Gyros were Fantastic! Fresh fresh. The meat was tender, moist and flavorful! The pitas were perfectly soft. Fresh LTO. Tzatziki sauce was great. I'm telling you, you won't get better in Greece itself!! A really good gyro shouldn't be hard to find. Most often they are found in places tucked away or a fair during the summer. I am happy to share that I was able to experience kind service with more conversation than "what do you want to order?" This was my first experience at Mykonos Gyro. They have been open for 5 months now. I was greeted right away, provided a skim through the menu and a promise that the food would be good. I ordered a large gyro and a large chicken gyro, but before I ordered the chicken gyro, I needed to make sure that I wasn't going to get chopped up chicken breast that is tough to eat. I was assured that the chicken gyro meat was similar to the lamb gyro meat. TBH that made my day. In addition, I ordered Jalepeno poppers as well. All food was to go. You do have the online option to order, Uber eats and Doordash. I needed the full experience for my first adventure. I got home with the food about 20 minutes later and it was still warm. These gyros were served with fresh cut fries. I didn't have malt vinegar, but will remember that next time. The Jalepeno poppers were a great size, not a spicy Jalepeno and combined with cheddar cheese NOT cream cheese. The cheddar in this popper was perfect and not the kind that will cause heartburn later. Alright, now for the gyros. Stuffed with a nice shredded iceberg lettuce, perfectly sliced tomato (easy to eat with the gyro without falling out), red onion and tzatziki sauce. I should have asked for extra sauce, but I was distracted by the homemade baklava. Mykonos Gyro definitely gets kudos on polite service and a quality chicken and regular gyro. What a welcomed addition to the Mentor culinary scene. Mykonos is serving up delicious Mediterranean style cuisine. They also are open late which is great especially for a late night meal. The Gyro's we got were delicious and fresh, we tried the chicken gyro and Mykonos fire gyro which is their spicy version of the original staple. When walking into the restaurant we were promptly greeted and the service was exceptional. I plan to continue to come to this restaurant since the prices are great and the food is tasty. We walked right in on a Saturday evening. We chose Mykonos because it wasn't super busy and we had a hangry toddler. If more people find out about this place, I guarantee you it won't be empty on a Saturday night. It was absolutely fantastic. Great gyro with fries. The sandwich was delicious with a choice of beef, lamb or chicken.

The owners were wonderfully friendly and our server Vera had a great personality. I got a big Greek salad with gyro meat on top and it had a nice homemade vinegar and oil dressing. It was very good! My husband got a gyro sandwich and he enjoyed it. But he said the hand cut french fries were the best he's ever had. Everything was very good. Tried this place for the first time today (just now finished). Definitely the best gyro I've had in Lake County! I ordered a medium size gyro and it was a pretty standard size gyro (can't imagine how big the large or XL gyro is!) Lots of meat. Sauce is absolutely amazing and THICK!!! Fries were crispy! Ordered the baklava and was surprised at the generous size of it. Took one to go for later as well. I Called in a carry out order, had a large gyro & fries. when I arrived it was all ready to go. It was one of the best gyro's I've ever had. It had a lot of meat and just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, onions and taziki sauce all surrounded by a warm, pillowy pita. The fries were fresh cut with the skin on and were the perfect accompaniment to the gyro. I drizzled malt vinegar over them just like at the fair. I would go back just to get those fries! Next time I go, I'll probably get a medium gyro because after eating the large I was totally stuffed! I also want to try the baklava next time, and maybe one of the appetizers.
