First visit back in a long time. Went with friends for lunch, and because of our knowledge of the place it wasn't our first choice, but two other restaurants were too busy to get in. I ordered a medium chopped steak, which it turns out was really just ground beef. It was overcooked and very dry. The mashed potatoes were instant and runny. One of our diners got the gyro omelette and seemed to enjoy it. Another diner in our party got the Turkey bacon wrap, and said it was just ok. Service wasn't as good as it used to be. Meh. read more

There is an an Infinity Gauntlet joke here somewhere that I can't come up with.... I really like Thano's. It's a place with an East Coast Greek diner menu (I mean that in the best sense possible) without the diner-type building. There is a counter with stools, a dining area with booths & tables, and some really tempting slices of cake and pie in the refrigerator case. The wife and I chose BLTs on our most recent visit. A better YELPer would've taken a pic, but it was late & we were starving. Sorry! The fries were perfect. Golden crisp on the outside, soft & mealy on the inside. The bacon was fried with care & the L & T portions of the sandwich were fresh and delicious. The clientele trends towards the senior crowd, but it isn't strictly a blue-haired paradise. The waitstaff is pleasant & prompt, and the dishes are typical diner food, albeit very good diner fare. They've also updated the place inside since our last visit. Waited longer than normal to place our order. Got souvlaki, one pork and one chicken. Not much flavor. Pita bread was nice and warm. Tatziki sauce was bland. Pilaf was ok. I will not try it again. They were also out of baklava at 1130. The menu is mostly American food, maybe that is their priority?? The parking lot was pretty full. As a long time diner at Thanos I must say they've maintained their delicious meals, improved the inside with some long needed renovations, and have always had the sweetest staff. My go to meal is a BLT with fries and if I'm feeling frisky I get a tasty slice of pie. Definitely a hidden gem off the main drag between Boardman and Canfield. read more

Ambience is like a diner. Not a place to sit and talk since it is fairly loud. The service is usually good, my visit this time, service was incredibly slow. The food left much to be desired; normally a great choice, but my corned beef hash was fried potatoes with sprinkled corned beef. Flavor was good, but the lack of corned beef was just disappointing; the price of the food has gone up wayyyyy too much. The hash with two eggs is over ten dollars. The toast was barely cooked. The eggs were decent. Prices have gone through the roof. If you charge a lot of money, make sure the food is amazing. read more

Just ate there and I have nothing good to say about the place. From no ac(sauna like temps), to lousy service, and horrible cooking. I ordered breakfast, and it came back to my table so fast, that a person could only think it was cooked in advance. Well, when I took a bite of homefries, I chipped a tooth! The cook had mixed homefries that obviously had to have been cooked and recooked several times, with practically raw homefries. I picked 5 more "hard ones" out of the mess and laid them on the table. When the waitress came around, I pointed to them( they were pure black in color and hard as rocks), and told her, she laughed and said u got a few crispy ones. I said yea, and I chipped a tooth on them! She smiled again and walked away. Totally ignoring me. She came back in cpl minutes and gave me my check. Drive by Thano's almost daily, and had never stopped. Long story short, very clean, they DO serve beer, and the food is as good as you can make this type of food. I got pot roast, wife got beer battered fish. Giving place five stars. Inexpensive, the food was HOT and the wait staff was working HARD. And the food, was as good as you can possibly make it. As someone who spent YEARS in food service, I am impressed by everything I saw and tasted at Thano's. I will be back, a lot. Oh, they also serve breakfast all day long. Based off of the menu items and price, I was looking forward to dining here. They have a diner feel, and breakfast options all day along with dinner. I opted for french onion soup which was heavenly, and the greek spaghetti. The soup was probably the best french onion soup that I've had, however the spaghetti dish was bland. Service was good and the waitress was attentive, but we had to ask for more drinks, and dinner rolls that were supposed to be given to us with our meal. When she did give them to us they were cold and hard. When we were seated, our table was dirty and had to ask for it to be wiped down. Also there were open jelly container in the butter and jelly dish. The womans restroom, and the hallway leading to it needed tending to. It was dirty and the trash was overflowing. This was my first time at Thanos and it was a good experience. The hostess, Theresa was friendly and prompt to say hello while we were waiting to be sat. She also, brought our drinks and hustled throughout the time we were there. Our server was good, quick and efficient. She was a standard breakfast server. Food was delicious, we got the Gyro Omelet and Veggie Omelet. The omelets were really tasty, potatoes were good and toast was toast. I ordered a cinnamon roll, because the table next to us had one and it looked different. I'm not 100% sure if it's homemade, but it was good. Grabbed Lunch with a friend today. The food was so good. We had a Hummus appetizer that was so rich in flavor....The toasted pita was the perfect compliment. Debbie had the Salmon the portion was plentiful and the flavor was on point. I had a Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken. Plentiful and the Feta was fresh. Lunch was amazing. So happy to have popped in. My family and I have ordered takeout here 4 times in the past 2 weeks! It's a great family restaurant with great food. Some of our favorites are the souvlaki, French onion soup, and the Hercules burger. Their side salads are just iceberg lettuce with a few tomatoes, cucumber slices, and a beet slice, but it pairs well with the entrees. The Greek dressing is a little sweet but very good. I wasn't feeling well one night and ordered a side salad and a bowl of French onion to go with it and it was perfect. The staff is very nice, welcoming, and accommodating to any personal preference changes or dietary needs. Only thing is the interior is a little old and worn, but the food is great and comforting. I ordered delivery and was very disappointed. I ordered liver and onions, it was supposed to come with a choice of potatoes but I was not given a choice. My side was coleslaw which I did not get. there was also a tuna salad plate ordered. It came with fresh seasonal fruit, which was frozen. The tuna was very dry and tasted old. We ate here around 2p.m. Sunday June 30th and our waitress was Christine. The meal started with my finding a plastic bread bag tag in my Greek salad and informing Christine that the cook should watch how he is making salads. My response was a snicker and "it looks like a bread bag tag" and I replied "it wouldn't be too funny if I had choked on it". The salad was too much of a good thing, must have contained 40 or 50 Kalamata olives and a pound of feta cheese, very little lettuce. The salad was probably made by a new hire because I never had that problem before. Never eat here near the time of shift changes. First, the waitresses are required to vacuum carpet before leaving, which means the hell with the customers allergies, manager says you must clean carpets. The practice caused me to leave with sinuses draining and eyes watering. Two Sundays in a row it happened, I'll try a different time, thank you. The final straw was when Christine comes to the table and shoves a styrofoam box over the plate while I'm eating and says "are you taking this home because I gotta leave, I'm done working". How damn hard up for a tip can you be? I guess it is too much to let a customer finish their meal. Upon leaving, I attempted to inform the hostess of my problem and she to was in a hurry to leave. The turquoise topped hostess headed out the door leaving a young replacement stare at me with a look of wonder when I tried to explain my problem. I usually eat here a few times a week and service is a steady downhill decline. Look toward the help to bury this place along with management. read more

I've really only eaten breakfast here, but I've eaten it a lot! Prices are reasonable, food is always good, coffee always flows, service is excellent. It's one of those great places to sit at the breakfast counter and enjoy friendly banter with fellow patrons and the employees. There's usually a steady crowd, so food doesn't have time to go bad.
