Yes, I'm reviewing a strip club... Don't judge! A few couples decided to head out to the Mynx. First clue this was all wrong... the women had to pay a cover charge? Whateves it was $5 bucks... Hmmm that probably was the second clue not to go in. The stage is relatively small, but the girls were attractive, and flip around on that pole with the best of them. Ladies you share the bathroom with the dancers, so be prepared to walk back out smelling like a stripper and weed. The clientele is why I would never go back. A "regular" stopped to ask my friend what time she will be taking the stage? Of course there was words exchanged and the bouncers apologized cuz he's a "regular". Here's my advice... Hey D Bag if your a "regular" you knew she was not a dancer, so your just a huge jacka*s, so go finish your $2 champagne and be quiet! Bouncers come on... These girls are about the $$$ which we had? Very disappointed in The Mynx Caberet. Like Kitti O. mentioned, this is the old Gold Club with just a different name. A small group of friends went and my first reaction was....you are charging the women in our group a cover charge? I'm not claiming to be an expert, but I have attended a few clubs in my day and I must admit this was a first. It's only a $5 cover, but still...it's just the principle. Standard stripper club prices we grabbed 4 beers and a couple of shots for about $40 and decided to camp out at the bar to check out the scene. We were talking and minding our own business until some clown walked up and asked one of the girls in our group when she was going on stage. Needless to say this didn't go over very well with our group. The bouncer came over and offered some lame excuse saying all the dancers come in dressed in "normal street clothes" and this guy was just confused. He also let us know that this clown was a "Regular" so we knew immediately that nothing would be done. Seriously, WTF? We downed our beers and quickly beat feet. I have visited mynx twice.. and i have never been to any other strip club, so i might not be able to give a comparable review. I like this place, if u r really scared of virus thing and want to wait for things to get normal, then please do not go here.. things are little messy.. one stripper came to me sat on my lap touched my beer mug and used my sanitizer.. asked me if i want to dance, i politely refused as i was there to enjoy the ambience only and have a beer or two.. she went off and sat with another customer, then another and then another.. there is a glass all around the main stage, but the stripping view is uncompromised.. social distancing is a joke there , so you need to look for your own safety.. a person was sanitizing the tables but you decide for yourself how many times he will do it as people are on constant move.. i can tell you the footfall was only 10% of what i have experienced on a friday evening in sep 2019.. earlier the vip dance was $25 and now it is $60.. We are tired of waiting for things to be normal.. so we decided to take a little risk.. we tried to be safely distant as much as possible and sanitized our bottles and glasses as well.. As usual i love the experience.. and i hope things get better soon!! Went here after it became Minx as it used to be The Gold Club before and although the girls are very cute the whole vibe in there has changed. I found myself getting hustled by two women in VIP and felt like they shorted me out of a 15 minute session by three minutes. Alright, I'm gonna make this as extensive as I can. This place was cool, I enjoyed myself and actually stayed longer than I expected and spent more than I intended. I went on a Saturday night recently. The women were lovely, there were many pole tricks (a must for a strip club, in my opinion), and every single dancer made sure to "twerk"-- all of them did. Every dancer catered to the crowd around the stage well and the ladies were quite friendly. The servers were lovely and friendly as well. Quite a few dancers were very pretty (and I saw one or two ladies that made my jaw drop). Lap dances were $25 and were in a side section. The club is only topless (the women keep the bottoms on), which is a bit disappointing, but I think that's state law where alcohol is served (my home state is the same way). There is a full bar with multiple beers in the center of the place and off to the side there is a pool table. There is another club attached to this one called "the extra dark side" that stays open later, requires a $5 admission, and has nude dances for $35 each. All the dances in both places are for one song only. The music was really good as well. And the security team was very attentive, on point, professional, and cool. All in all, I liked this place. Worst place I've ever been to in my life so let's break this down. I do lots of traveling across the country for work and frequent strip clubs in every city I visit. Smaller cities tend to be better than big city until I came to Hartford. I know there's always a stigma when it comes to young black guys in strip clubs and I get why but other than being ignored by every stripper in the place the bartenders and service never came it was a struggle to receive drinks or get the attention of anybody almost like they recognized we were from out of town and just said fuck them. Dancers are fearless hanging off the ceiling, (not the pole) the ceiling metal framing. I have been here a few times with my Fiancé and other couples. I like the dancers, and bar tenders there, but I'm not crazy about the Bouncers and the people who greet at the door. They're pretty rude. It's almost like they don't want us there. We usually have to pay a $15 cover charge and they force you to buy two drinks minimum. This is not cool, I'd rather spend money toward the girls who are dancing than spending on a drink. However, this is the only strip club I've been too so I'm not sure if other places do a two drink minimum as well. It would be nice if the bouncers were a little more polite. I wish there was an option to give a negative star for the following reasons: 1) I went friday night and was charged $20.00. Knowing that the regular price was $15.00, I asked why $5.00 more, and the guy responded its $20.00 after 12 am. So Sunday Feb, 15 I took a friend and a guy that came back from the war in Iraq to the club. I own a bar, an 1 other company. I'm a pretty professional guy. I don't ever go to these places, but it was more for the vet. Well we were there I fig I would sit at the bar an enjoy a couple of drinks, after my first over priced IPA beer a dance came an sat next to me, asking if I wanted a private dance, I nicely told her no that it wasn't my thing, I ordered another beer, at this point she gave me a hard time about buying her a drink, witch I kindly did. Once again she started asking about this private dance.. I explained to her that it wasn't my thing an that I won't pay for any kind of naked or sexual stuff..she seemed to be upset..giving me a hard time about not paying the dancers.. At that point I put about 10 dollars in quarters on the edge of the stage an walked back to the bar were my beer was..continuing to drink my 2nd IPA, I noticed that the beer seemed to taste different than the first. I asked the bar tender if she gave me the same kind of beer. She confirmed that it was. After drinking about have of that glass, I was out of my mind, ended up in an argument with the bouncers over the 10 dollars in quarters, that ended with them spraying the combat vet with mace, an the bar calling the cops.. So never walk away from your drink there, because I'm pretty sure I was slipped something, maybe to get me to pay for a dance, IDK..maybe she just didn't like my reply's.. But I do no that after just a few drinks, it took me 2 days to get my head right again.. That doesn't happen from a few beers. I'm pretty sure this is guna end up with days at the court house, an days off from work.. Not worth seeing a couple pairs of tits. Most of the dancers are pretty hot. Trouble is they swarm you at the bar or wherever you are for lapdance or to buy them drinks. Drinks and service at the bar itself is pretty lousy. Lapdance often ripoff as girls will start after a song has started and then tells you you are done when the song is over. Feel is way too touristy for me. read more
