I've walked by Myrtle Wines & Spirits on several occasions since it's on the same block as my doctor's office. I just never have time to stop in though. After my most recent appointment, I made time. A chalk board sign out front, advertising frozen drinks, really drew me in. After being told by my doc that I'm still fat and only getting fatter, a buzzy, tasty drink was just what I needed to lift my spirits. Myrtle Wines is a nice looking place, stocked full of beautiful bottles of every type of wine. I was directed to the back of the store to choose my beverage and then sent to the front again to pay. I was finally given a casino type of token to give to the drink maker. The drinks are poured from slushy machines. My frosé selection was so boozy, frosty and great! I had to pull the cup away from me and just stare at it for a second. That drink was hitting me in thee BEST way on the first sip. I'll be frequenting Myrtle Wines & Spirits this summer for sure. First time here and I love it here. Prices are good, everything is nice and well put together. The service was good, they greet you when you walk in & just overall friendly. I like the lights around the store, the music was good. Decor is nice too They even have frozen margaritas & baby you ONLY need one !!! read more

Oh friend, you gotta take that lil trip to the back of this place to get you a lil drinky drink. It's only four flavors and honestly, ALL 4 of em gone getchu RIGHT!!! All you need is one cup. First time I went I did all 4 flavors, learned from my mistake and when I came back (days later, Don't Judge me) I knew exactly what flavors I wanted to sip on longer than others. The bartender in the back will literally make it anyway you want to. If you like sweet get the Blue and Orange flavors( I can't remember the name of the flavors) and if you like white wine which are more dry get the and frosé flavors. Warning, it's like $15 and the cups could be bigger but friend when I tell you it's worth it!!! It's worth it babe. Also the staff are really nice and patient. All of those guys were really helpful and had really insightful conversations with us. Definitely go on a lil date night and take a walk over to fort Greene park and just sit and drink and relax. I walked around the store for nearly 5 minutes and no staff said a word or offered help. As I was walking out, I believe the owner finally stopped me and offered help. He was nice enough and engaging, but felt the need to "mansplain" everything when I asked him to point me toward specific types of wine. Yes, black people actually drink wine and have an expansive palate. Yes, black people have actually visited wineries and attended wine tastings. The store has a decent variety and the owner gave a solid recommendation. I wouldn't make a special trip here, but it's a good option in passing. read more

I've never left a bad review but wow. We went here to get a wine by a small New York producer because they were the only ones in the area that carry it currently. Now I see why. The employee on 4/11 around 2pm couldn't care less about customer service. We were inquiring about the frozen drinks in the back, the wines and bourbons we were talking about openly amongst ourselves (marked at a large premium I might add) didn't make him any more enthusiastic. His phone must've been too captivating to notice. During checkout he lazily said to press credit, after I hit debit - met with a massive eye roll. We were going to buy some other, more expensive products but after all this, we're good. Tried this place for the first time and while it's modern and has an alright selection... wow, figure it out. read more

I'm not usually one for writing bad reviews but this experience sucked. They had the wine I was looking everywhere in NY state for and I was super excited! But they couldn't even give me the time of day in there. It was one guy at the register who didn't speak one word until checkout where he was annoyed that my boyfriend's hit debit instead of credit for his card. He grumbled goodbye as we left and sat back in his chair to go back on his phone before we had even closed the door behind us. I wish any other store had this wine in stock because I would spend that $60 happily there, but not here. I 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a good selection of spirits but 0/10 recommend unless you want to be treated like you're a massive inconvenience to be in the store. read more

Such a great selection! A wide variety of wines, liquors, and interesting finds too. Love the range in prices and full breadth of assortment, you can really find a little of anything here. I especially love a lot of beautifully packaged bottles they have, especially in liquors and beers. They definitely have an eye for what's current and restock with new things all the time. Recommended! The store looks beautiful too, but they have it sectioned off to smartly control the flow of people and maintain hygiene for covid times. read more

I recently found out that one of my favorite whiskeys is being discontinued. Immediately, I began my hunt to find a bottle or two so I had some reserves. I came across Myrtle Wines and was absolutely shocked at the price point they had listed! The exact same bottle I purchased at the distillery one year was $40 less at Myrtle Wines! I was amazed to find such a good deal and although they are only one state over, I opted to have my order delivered (honestly, factoring in the prices of gas and tolls it was probably cheaper to have it shipped!). Shipping was incredibly fast and I can't be happier with my experience with Dan and the rest of the team at Myrtle Wines. If I find my way back to Brooklyn any time soon I will be sure to stop by for a visit. read more

A really fantastic upscale wine & liquor store. Despite its small storefront, it has a great selection. I'm not a big wine drinker, but I absolutely love the variety of liquors and liqueurs they sell. The service is great, which I think matters a lot -- last time I was in, they helped me pick out a bottle of bourbon which ended up being exactly what I wanted. read more
