The picture of a perfect breakfast.

Mystic Cafe (MC) is a not-so-hidden gem for great food in Lewiston. My wife and I were in town for a family event and found MC for breakfast. Let's start with the decor. The place is massive with all sorts of spots to get comfortable and check out the great art work. Then there is the service. We were greeted by the hostess, greeted by a waiter who walked by while we were waiting to be seated, greeted by our server and then thanked several times for coming on the way out the door. There are places that say they treat their customers like they matter and those that actually do it. MC is in the latter category. Then there is the food. I can't remember what my wife ordered but I will never forget what I ordered. I ordered one of my favorites, biscuits and gravy with an over easy egg. You can tell how good the cook staff is by how they cook the eggs and how fresh their gravy tastes. MC Is as an A+ on both counts. But, the one thing I will remember was the fried chicken. My server recommended it as an add in and boy was she right. It was some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The batter was super crispy and not greasy. The chicken, even though it was breast meat, was flavorful and juicy. It added the finishing touches to an amazing morning meal. I cannot recommend Mystic Cafe enough. Whether you are a local or just passing through, Mystic Cafe has got to be in your list of must haves.

This is by far the top tier breakfast spot in town. Atmosphere is beautiful and cozy. The staff is always amazing (Sunshine was awesome!). The best part is there is something for everyone, and some delicious coffee!

The ambiance was cute, an old rustic building with some funky decor, the service was adequate, as the server was able to meet all our needs in a timely manner, and the food came out relatively quickly. I like that the French toast came with eggs and breakfast meat. The sausage and eggs were good but the toast itself was a little on a dry side and they could have put a thicker coating of egg on it and maybe spice it up a little more. If I came back here I would try something different on the menu.

Tried both the restaurant and the attached coffee shop out front over a long weekend in Lewiston. The coffee shop has indoor and outdoor seating, pastries, and a wide selection of drinks. The staff is super-friendly, the vibe was really cool, and everything we tried was delicious. I would probably come again just for the peppered bacon.

We had the most delightful server. She was energetic and friendly. The place is larger than it seems. We were tucked in a booth near the rear. I ordered a beet salad with chicken. I must say this was disappointing. The beets were buried and they were not fresh. I'm guessing that's why they were not on top. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. It saved the salad.

Got Moldy strawberries on one of the meals!

Ordered strawberry banana creeps the strawberries had mold and smelt fermented. Got an omelette with moldy veggies and sour eggs...

Fun vibes, and delicious food. I orders the Nordic Toast (pictured) with a side of bacon. It was a perfect serving. Tangy and savory. My son had the French toast. He said it was great. The service was friendly and prompt.

It was a busy Friday lunch with a couple of large parties, so it's not surprising that I had to wait to be seated. And a wait for a server. But once I was greeted and orders taken, both beverage and meal arrive swiftly. A sweet attentive waiter and she had them split my shake to go. Food was fresh and tasty and I enjoyed the Cantaloupe Ginger Paddock. A lovely restaurant that I'd love to visit again.

Loved the food. It's one of the only good places out there. Service was amazing. Had the house burger. Didn't have any drinks. Maybe next time. The inside decor is good looking. Have like an old saloon feels.

Great customer service and I highly recommend the turkey sandwich. I don't like sandwiches but that was an amazing experience!

The difference here was that the eggs (over easy in my case) were cooked perfectly. The sausage patties were exceptionally well prepared, and some of the best I've had in recent memory. The potatoes were seasoned well, crispy on the outside, and pillowy soft on the inside. The biscuit was good too...obviously home made. My spouse's order was slightly different, with bacon and a waffle, but according to her review, it was equally well done. It was obvious that the staff loved what they're doing. The food was great, the service prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere leaned toward the charming side. It was simply a really good experience all the way around.

The restaurant had a quaint downtown feel with a welcome lack of pretension. And the food was 5-star level. We started with the chilled caprese which was light and delicious. The balsamic drizzle, one of my favorites, really added to the depth of flavor. My wife ordered the salmon which came with a phenomenal sauce. It was tangy and tasted of dill and really elevated an already flavor- packed meal. I had the Thai pasta dinner which was a fusion of Thai flavors with an Italian flair. It will be one of my new favorites with the Thai spices in the sauce covering spiral noodles. If you are looking for fancy food with a "friend next door" vibe. Brava's is for you.
