Been here for lunch and for breakfast. The menu offerings look delicious. The staff has generally been attentive. Perhaps a bit overworked, though. The food itself is mediocre at best. Pretty much everything that came out could have been made at home for a lot cheaper and some of it definitely better quality. If the food quality could match what's on paper it'd be worth going out to eat at Mystic. Won't be going back for anything other than a coffee at the cafe, unfortunately. What sets Mystic Cafe apart from the rest is the fantastic service! Food was creative, very flavorful, well presented, fairly priced, fresh. The atmosphere was great, rustic, on trend. But the staff really shined. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Our server, Magnificent Rick, was outstanding. Friendly, helpful, professional. Our food arrived promptly. Mystic Cafe is such an awesome experience every time I go. The food is never a disappointment, they have one of my favorite menus because they have such a wide variety of food. I love the wicked grilled cheese, and they have some of the best Alaskan street taco's . It's such a cool restaurant the whole atmosphere really makes for a great night. They also have an amazing coffee shop, try a lotus energy drink next time you need that extra boost, they have so many delicious flavors. The food is really tasty and super reasonable prices. I went there for graduation and had reservations for a large group and the service was very friendly and accommodating. What a great place for dinner! Wife started with the spiked huckleberry lemonade slushee...good choice. Delicious! Had the Flatbread caprese as an appetizer perfect. Crisp flatbread, very tasty tomatoes with fresh basil, excellent mozzarella and sweet balsamic. They were out of the regular ribeye so I ordered the double cut size. Didn't know you also get double sides! Mashed potatoes and green beans. Wife ordered the steak salad. Definitely a good choice. We had so much food we had to save most of that. Our server Taylor was very attentive and an excellent source of information, despite this being only her 3rd shift. I don't recommend this cafe, the young ladies up from where very rude. Ignored us for several min after we walked in. Once they spoke to us, they said since we were sitting outside with our dogs, that we would have to come in and order because "We won't come outside to take your order" then shoved menus at us. The coffee was mediocre and then when our food came out they walked around to every table except ours and took it back to the kitchen. We had to go inside and ask for it. Also VERY expensive for a 'cafe', $40 for two small breakfasts and two coffees. I would recommend other local shops before this one. Everytime I am in town, I like to stop in to the Mystic for a bite to eat or coffee. One of the most unique and special places in the valley and the food & ambiance is wonderful. On this particular occasion I ordered the avocado toast and the Breakfast tacos, both were extremely delicious and well plated. My espresso with whip cream was delicious, just the right balance of acidity and caffeine, just what I needed! The interior of the Mystic is just beautiful, with all of its lovely artwork and whimsical art deco influences, just lovely. I would love to come back sometime for open mic night or when they have jazz, what a treat ! My dad introduced me to the chef and he is a wonderful guy, lots of energy and culinary passion for bringing wonderful food to the valley. I wish we had a wonderful spot like this back in Sacramento, can't wait for my next visit! read more
