The people behind this bakery are just as amazing as their cupcakes. Christie went above and beyond for me, and truly made my birthday so special. I was coming from out of state for a brief trip to North Conway for my birthday, and I had been waiting years to get a chance to go to the bakery during their Princess Bride theme. The timing of my trip was working out that I was totally going to miss my chance to go, but Christie came back after hours just to help me out, she even gave me a candle. The bakery was beautiful, the decor felt enchanted and their display case had descriptions next to each cupcake with a picture from the theme. Lovely place, great for cupcakes. If you want to do custom orders I hear you have to plan in advance that she books up! But when the store is open, there's so awesome selections every time. Wow! What an awesome experience. We are traveling across the New England states with our 8 kids and stopped in at this locally owned bakery. The cupcakes are all named with a Princess Bride theme, which is very clever. We ordered six of these delicacies to split among us at our vacation rental. All of them were totally awesome. From the light flavorful cake portion to the creamy but not overly heavy buttercream frosting, we were in cupcake heaven. This place is awesome! Best cupcakes I have ever had. The filling, frosting, and cake itself are all done perfectly! The staff is great and the decor inside is very nice. They do themed cupcakes based off of popular movies every now and then and this weeks was Alice and wonderland. Delicious, first time visiting today and resolved our families after dinner sweet tooth. Loved the theme this week - Harry Potter. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were helpful, friendly and patient as I tried to decide on which flavors to take home. Everything looked and smelled so delicious! We opted for the following cupcakes: Wingardium Leviosa Golden Snitch Ravenclaw Sirius Black Gryffindor Goblet of Fire Slytherin The cake was moist, light, fluffy, and not too sweet or overpowering, the frosting was light, fluffy and perfectly flavored. Oh my!!! Went for high tea on Sunday ( one Sunday per month I think, call for details and reservation). It was exquisite. Lovely both visually and gastronomically. In other words, so pretty and YUMMY. As a a review for the bakery goes, this tea had a sampling of much of their offerings. Their macarons were airy but substantial in creaminess and flavor, and gorgeous. Their scones were so light and tasty I had three! If the canapés and finger sandwiches were a window into what they can do for savory, I will have to assume their breakfast and lunch sandwiches are tasty indeed. The brownies were a perfect mix of gooey and cake-ness, the truffles were pure chocolate decadence, and my personal favorite, the lemon cookies, dreamy!! Even after the whole tea, I rushed to the counter and got the last bag of them! The whole experience was perfect. The ambience was warm and witty and so are the names of their incredible array of cupcakes which my local friends say are delicious! So next time you're in North Conw.... I'm not usually one for sticker shock since I'm used to NYC prices. I just came from the city a few days ago. Never paid $5 for an albeit jumbo sized cupcake until now. The allure for me was the different flavored cupcakes. However todays offerings and what I saw on their website I was hoping for the Earl grey. No such luck. I got the Witches brew-Coffee-Soake vanilla Cake with Coffee Buttercream and a Chocolate-Covered Espresso Bean. It was fine. But the cake was crumbly is my only issue with this cake. Lots of flavor so they delivered on this. Got the crystal ball- coconut cake with coconut frosting. I didn't taste much coconut in the cake part. The frosting did have a strong coconut flavor. Again, crumbly cake which is annoying. However the most disappointing was the cereal milk tres leche cake. Was told the cereal milk is captain crunch, which sealed the deal for me to purchase. I did not taste an approximation of Captain crunch at all which was a let down. So it was just a saturated milk cake (I didn't taste any condensed milk either). We didn't exactly go out of our way to stop here, so it wasnt wasted time. However 2 cupcakes, and a slice of cake for $18 is pricey IMO. read more
