I came here twice over the span of a week long stay in North Conway. I will admit that the motivators for coming were 1. Price; by far the cheapest ice cream in the valley especially in North Conway, 2. Location; just outside the main drag and right next to where I was staying, literally walked back to the condo after, and 3. Hours; they stayed open later than some of the more farm style places I wanted to try but didn't get to on account of being busy doing nothing. I like that they have a parking lot and a parking lot view of the mountains! Priceless. I will say they need more chocolate based ice cream selections, otherwise there was a good variety of flavors. They also do a monthly kids sundae competition and they advertise the top three sundaes in the menu. So cute! There are a couple benches you can eat on out front, or you can eat inside at a picnic table, there's lots of seating for a roadside ice cream place I would say. And while I was disappointed in my peanut butter ice cream (on account that I don't like peanut butter ice cream) I liked the flavor I got later in the week that was not peanut butter. This is a solid choice in North Conway for sure! read more

Perfect vacation ice cream spot. The line was long and slow moving but that was understandable for a Sunday night in October since only one staff member was doing it all. And she was hustling! Their portions are huge. I love that the sprinkles are free. They have hard and soft ice cream options. Watch out for the spiders in the rafters above the ordering windows! They have seating inside and outside and a decently amount of parking. read more

I live right here and my family comes to Trails end almost every night. Incredible ice cream for incredible prices. the view of Mt Washington never gets old. Get a small the sizes are insane which is great, large amounts of great ice cream for cheap prices is why Trails End stays so busy every night, but the line always moves very quickly!! read more

Trails End ice cream was the BEST ending to our day in North Conway! The ice cream was delicious & the portions were very generous. I highly recommend the coffee Oreo- amazing! Our group of 11 was walking over to the ice cream shop & unfortunately the shop had closed 15 mins prior- however the owners were stopping by to grab something and offered to open up to serve us. Hands down the best customer service ever.. please stop by if you're in the North Conway/intervale area! read more

Delicious ice cream, friendly staff, the line moves quick, and reasonably priced. We had fun watching a thunderstorm in the mountains while we sat on their covered porch enjoying our cones. They were not kidding with the reviews. Trails End Ice Cream is handing out the cold stuff like party favors. I've never seen value like this. The ice cream is amazing, the portions are generous and the taste is to die for. We went for a family trip as we were staying in the area and felt the need to indulge in some ice cream. Everyone in line received the kid's scoop but I had to be a big shot and get the small. How big could it be? It's huge. My son has a little trouble digesting large amounts of dairy and he had no ability to finish the ice cream. I loved it and had no trouble finishing because I think I'm a bit of a cow. I would go back for these huge scoops that are under $5. If you are in the Conway area, ever, you have to stop by Trails End Ice Cream. read more

I ordered ice cream for 40 people for a birthday party and was so happy with the result. They dropped off a freezer full of individually portioned ice cream in my chosen flavors, and included spoons and napkins and sprinkles. My guests were able to help themselves throughout the party, and the freezer was picked up the next day. So convenient - and delicious! So many people commented at how good the ice cream was, they could tell it was homemade after just one bite. The service was excellent, Nancy was so friendly and accommodating. With just about every other ice cream stand closed for the season, I was thrilled to find Trails End Ice Cream still open for business this Columbus Day weekend. I had just finished a 13 mile hike and all I could think about was a hefty dose of ice cream with hot fudge. Trails End (in retrospect, quite appropriately named) delivered just that. I ordered Cookie Dough ice cream with hot fudge and caramel. I went for 1 scoop, though I was tempted at the idea of two BUT was soooo glad I went for the single. The scoop was gigantic!! Very generous portion sizes. The ice cream was delicious and the toppings plentiful. Large chunks of cookie dough! For $3 and some change, this dessert was well worth its value. The staff at the window were very friendly, super quick with scooping, and thoughtful (I was sent to my car with a wad of napkins as their generous portions were already risking going overboard out of my Styrofoam cup!). Glad to have stumbled across this location. I will be sure to return after future hikes in the area. read more

The price for a small cone was almost half of what I pay at the ice cream stand at home. The servers were as sweet as the ice cream. I can't wait to go back! I have to leave this review hair in my ice cream for the third time visiting please have your employees wear hair masks. It's so disgusting and so unfortunate I can see it happening just once I'm a local, the first time I mentioned it the employee just shrugged it off the second time I called and left a message. The third time was today long hair pulling it out of the ice cream I returned it and was told oh I'll just scoop you another scoop but then I realized after I left the with same ice cream that hair was in it that whole entire batch should be tossed. And of course I tossed my ice cream because I couldn't bear the thought. It was the whole ice cream experience I hope management read this so they can do something about this I know it's hot, I know it's hard to find good employees but a hair mask would keep the hair out of the ice cream a little hair net won't be too hot and it sanitary Please please please I love your ice cream and I hate to have to not come back because I'm worried that every time I come in I'm going to have an issue this is unfortunate that I'm the one that's getting the hair I don't know how many other people have the problem that I have had.? read more

Ice cream overload! If you love ice cream and wish you could order a large but feel like that is too much than order a Kiddie, it's probably a quart of ice cream. I walked away thinking how did they do this; fit all this sweetness in a cone, I had to tell people; Imagine if I had got the next size up, this is the Kid size! We've been getting ice cream almost every day and trying to get out ice cream from locally owned ice cream shops. Here in Conway we had been going to Trails End Ice Cream which serves up locally made ice cream with HUGE portions. On this particular day we had stopped at a local bakery to get some cupcakes and since Ben and Jerry's was located next door, we decided we would just get ice cream there. We lined up all the kids to place their orders but were shocked when they pulled out one micro cup and put the smallest scoop of ice cream in it that I had ever seen. On top that they wanted to charge over $6 for that mini scoop. We paid for the one scoop and quickly left and made the five minute drive to Trails End Ice Cream where the super mega scoop is only $4 and a double scoop (which is over a pint of ice cream) is only $6. I'm not complaining about the quality of the ice cream at Ben and Jerry's, but the super small portions are way overpriced, particularly when a much better alternative (Trails End Ice Cream) is only five minutes away. Save your money and avoid this particular Ben and Jerry's and drive down to Trails End Ice Cream and get freshly made local ice cream at reasonable prices.

But, it must be said, that iced coffee was a FREE REFILL (which they do for hot and iced coffees) for a different drink, and that different drink was a chocolate-hazelnut iced coffee, which was not what I expected, i.e. a 5 calorie iced coffee, but instead a syrupy, heavily flavored dessert drink with which I broke my fast far harder than I had meant to. Had I known this drink was not seasoned beans turnt to a delectable cup, I might have passed on it, and had I not felt the desire to rejoin my company, I would have asked for the heaviest of heavy creams to make it a straight milk shake, but I drank it as was and enjoyed it every sip. The flavor was good to great, the texture more than I wanted but curious as a Campbell I couldn't just get the nitro-brew I craved because there was a hazelnut-coffee concoction I had never had heard of let alone tried and probably, along with the refill has more get up and go than the nitro solo. But I been here for hours now and don't feel like leaving yet, and that the baristae refilled my cup with coffee whilst allowing me to avoid the line (which isn't cutting. Justification: The line is only for people who still need to pay) really bumps that service up to magnificent. I love it here so much that I am almost remiss to go back to all four generations of my family who have gathered locally.

We picked right! Great atmosphere. Really felt like we were in a restaurant at a ski resort in Europe. Both got burgers and they were so good. Fresh and hot, so needed with all the cold outside. Service was quick and the waitress was kind and talked us through the local drinks we both ordered. 10/10 would 100% revisit if we visit the area again.

The picnic tables set up are in a park like setting, very special. The DQ itself is clean and tidy. We came in around 8:30pm on a Sunday night.
