I love the vibe at Maximo's! They decorate for each season, the music is light and the lighting makes you feel welcome. The spring menu is adorable! The owners really go above and beyond to decorate, come up with creative menu ideas and provide excellent service. I wasn't sure about the lavender in the Spring Cappuccino but I was pleasantly surprised. The lavender paired well with the pistachio and the macaron and edible butterfly were a nice touch. Hubby got his standard iced cappuccino and a chocolate chip cookie. I ordered a quesito which is a flakey pastry w/ cream cheese. They warmed it slightly to make it perfection. read more

We went here for coffee and breakfast. Very nice and cozy inside. The staff is very polite and helpful. The menu had much to offer. The coffee was good, prices are a bit steep, for me this is not a place to just stop in. I would have to plan and ensure I am willing to spend the money. This cafe has a really nice vibe. On a dreary January Saturday afternoon I stopped in here for lunch. The coffee and the atmosphere were perfect. Plenty of seating and very cozy. The women behind the counter were also friendly and helpful. I ordered the ham sandwich which comes pressed and made with hard boiled eggs, tomato, and mayonnaise. Very good! I read reviews that mentioned the Pan de Bono was the best in the area so I ordered one. Those reviews were spot on! It really did feel like it melted in your mouth. Great coffee and bakery items? This cafe is must try. The coffee menu is great. The working in this cafe are truly fantastic. Very friendly and courteous. I have not had the time to sit and try the food, but from seeing the care put into each order cooked, I will be soon. I stop everyday for cappuccino. Good price great coffee. This was a great experience all around. One of the best macchiatos I've ever had- super hot, great flavor, cute, etc etc. I also got the Prosciutto croissant which was very clean tasting and a way bigger portion than I was expecting. I also got a mint lemonade and was very happy to see they use real mint! Great portion size for that as well. I went there to study and it was the perfect setting for it. Nice music playing in the background but not too loud, great layout with plenty of seating options, super clean bathroom, and really just a beautiful place. I went on a Tuesday and it had a nice flow of people coming in and out which was great to see. Lastly- the service was great, super friendly and checked in at the perfect times. For example their sushi is pork vs raw fish & their drink that has chocolate dipped strawberry. The lattes were hot! Than goodness because so many cafes serve lattes warm or cool. What a cute place right here in my hometown! Inside is an Instagramable aesthetic, it's bright and cozy, but modern. The drinks were tasty, the americano came with the water separate which was pretty cool. The sandwiches were very simple but you could taste how fresh the meats were along with the cheeses. The pan de bono has got to be one of the best I've had in the area. The bread literally melts in your mouth. The empanada was "not fresh" we went around 12pm and in my opinion I just feel it was still early enough for it to not be "old" We paid around $60, but it was interesting that prices were not on the display board and they were not included in the menu that you scan. The cafe was busy and the staff was very friendly trying to take care of the people ordering take out and the ones sitting down. Definitely a place to come back too. read more

During travels, hopped off the expressway for a cute breakfast place that did not have espresso. Needing espresso we Yelped and came upon Maximo's. Though all the pastries looked nice we only had an espresso and a pumpkin latte, both very good. The woman working was very nice. read more

such a lovely little spot! my latte was very good and not super sweet it tasted authentic. the service was good they take your order at the table and you can scan for the menu. less than $5 for my iced latte with caramel and oat milk! literally the cheapest i've had in years! there was a bit of a language barrier and we also accidentally got a $12 pour over type coffee. would be 5 stars if they included prices on their menu. read more

This is the nicest spot in Rockaway Boro by far. Very friendly staff. The coffee and latte was great. We are vegan so we are hoping they add more vegan breakfast options in the future. We had the avocado toast with balsamic and cherry tomatoes, it was yummy. If they add oat milk to their menu as well this place will be our go - to coffee shop for sure. read more
