It's a dingy gym, not well-maintained. The saunas didn't seem very clean, or maybe they're just really old. It was hard to enjoy going to the gym because it's not in great condition. Instead, every time I went, I felt like I was dragging myself. So, I canceled my membership after 6-7 months. It wasn't hard to cancel; they needed 1 month notice. I liked the 20/20/20 class taught by Lisa P. a lot, but then she moved away. I tried a few other classes but was pretty bored at each of them. This gym is fine for machines. There really are no nice amenities except for a sauna and steam room. No pool or racquetball courts, like LA Fitness has. I've been coming here for a year. I didn't want to write a review until I really had some time to reflect. I took one Saturday boot camp class but got turned off. It was fun until I got to the back room, run by a big, bald guy (Deshawn, I think?) who thought it would be fun to embarrass me by obnoxiously shouting out, "Let's go, Gossip Girl!!" All I was doing was asking my neighbor what to do since he certainly didn't explain what he wanted. Just assumed. Imagine how I felt being new at the gym and a first-timer at boot camp. He walks around with a constant pissy look on his face, always looking at his phone, playing with his keys, or in his office (third one on the left), looking at his monitor. The other trainers are very nice and pleasant but there constantly new faces in there so that tells me a lot Then, of course, you have your typical creepy, old man gym-rat, who struts around like he owns the gym, refuses to clean his machines, and mansplains to women how to use THEIR machines LOL. Yep, ladies, he's there! I took a few of their Zumba classes. The instructors are very nice but they barely play Latin music or demonstrate any type of Latin dance steps. So the Zumba classes are basically just aerobic classes. Still a workout. Also, the vertical blinds in there have been broken FOREVER and the sun comes right in, making that room VERY hot. The Dance Jam class is fun! The instructor is fit and has MORE Zumba moves and Latin music than their actual Zumba classes. That's the only class I'd recommend. Cleanliness - it's pretty clean in most places. I did watch a trainer "cleaning" the treadmills last week and he skipped over the nasty cup holders completely on ALL of them. Also - the front doors are disgustingly filthy on the outside. Haven't been cleaned in at least a year. Just sayin'. Helpful hint - wipe down your machines BEFORE you touch them. Is it a gym? Yes. Can you get your Workouts done? Yes. Is it cheaper than 24 hr? Yes. Do they need to improve their Customer Service? HELL YES. I will preface this review but first saying that I am satisfied with the equipment provided by the gym. They have everything your modern gym needs, classes, dumbbells, barbells, and a variety of weight machines (except a pool?). They also offer other services like monthly check ins, tanning beds, and hydro-massage. These are all things I found generally impressive for the price I was paying especially compared to 24hours which was where I previously held a membership. In addition they are mindful of Covid restrictions. Trying to social distance as appropriately as possible. Enforcing mask-wearing. Having staff clean the equipment frequently. And limiting occupancy (at least the times I attend) Now for the negatives and it's mainly just the one. Customer Service needs serious work here. I'm not going to say the customer is ALWAYS right. I strongly believe that there is a line; however this particular gym laughs at that in the extreme. Whatever ideals/expectations you had when entering the gym can be swiftly thrown out. I walked in planning on signing up, so I wasn't as shook by the sheer amount of "Hard-Selling" that gets continuously shoved into your face. This is hardly just my personal experience as I saw this happen with my wife who signed up, as well as a set of our friends who tried to trial the gym. From what I've heard they've had even worst experiences than I have. If you walked in, expecting to just "Try-out" their gym for their "supposed 14-day Free Trial," you can forget it. You're more likely to end up spending hundreds of dollars on their various "promotions" for training sessions, supplements, and everything in between. From other reviews I've read, it sounds like cancelling the membership is equally a nightmare, which I'm dreading whenever the time comes for me to do this. TLDR; if you are looking for a cheap-ish gym and don't mind the terrible customer service or every cash-grab they attempt then this will work for you just fine. If this doesn't work for you there are many other gyms out there who I'm hoping treats their customers better. read more

For the price, there are better gym options out there. There is no loyalty or respect here. Take your money elsewhere. This place is filthy and ran-down. Dust, chalk and hair is collecting under all machines and dumbbell racks. Half of their treadmills are always out of order. They don't have any redundancy in their machines so when one goes down, it's a 4-6 week wait until they decide to get someone out to repair it. There are still remnants of BOOM FITNESS mats and equipment that they decided to keep as cost savings but just makes the place look cheap and tacky. They promoted locker room renovations for the majority of 2023 then pulled all the signs down and acted like they haven't used it as a perk to get new people to sign up. Nearly half of their lockers are broken. All lockers are former BOOM FITNESS lockers and are worn down and panels are literally falling off. No one bothers to clean the toilets or common areas. Finally, they are still operating on COVID hours. They used to be 24/7. Now they open at 5am IF their employees decide to show up at 5am. Theres been multiple times where dozens of gym goers have sat in the parking lot waiting for an employee to open the doors in the morning, where we just decide to drive off because we are wasting our time. A friend of mine decided to sign up and they pushed a nearly $40/mo price. He asked why as it's more than the cost of LA Fitness down the road. The staff jokingly said "we have a lot of 'young' people here" which is not only a creepy thing to say but such a pitiful sales pitch. But it makes sense as they don't have any other amenities to offer. Finally, they decide to go against their loyal members and force a membership price increase even if we obtained the "new gym price" and remained with MUV Tanasborne since they opened. Total disregard for their loyal members. I feel sorry for all the new members they are tricking into signing up for this place. read more

*Future guests beware!* I'm searching for a permanent gym and liked the facilities, but I don't want to get forced into a 1 year membership! I had a 1 week guest pass that I wanted to use, but Ciara said that the pass is invalid due to their "no initiation fee & $19/month promotion". I asked her if there was a a term to it, and it's a year! I was put off by this sales tactic and was hesitant to sign up. Isn't a 1 week pass standard for gyms? Ciara had quite the attitude towards me and frankly, if I do sign up, it won't be through her. Strong-armed (no pun intended) sales tactic to say the least. If i could give a lower review i would. The workers there are more like salesmen then they are trainers. Once they get you to spend anything they lose all intrest unless they know they can get more out of you. I closed my account with them and then three weeks later they used my card on file to pay someones monthly payment. And when talking to the head manager he did nothing about it and said well they agreed and paid so nothing i can do. Bitch thats my money not that random bitches i didnt say you could use my card i ended my account with yall delete my info. I'm incredibly upset/ disappointed about the lack of communication from Muv fitness regarding how they were handling billing for personal training during COVID. They stopped billing then restarted randomly in August without any clear communication with clients. Calling was of no help and the same experience you always read about with gyms when trying to problem solve....The "we don't give a shit we wanna get paid" attitude. There is no excuse for the lack of communication...the gym was closed there was plenty of time to touch bases with clients so everyone was in the know moving forward. To say "well, we sent an email" is unacceptable as an answer when asked about irregularities in billing. I don't care if it's a pandemic. If you can't respect me as a customer there are other gyms who will. Absolutely unacceptable stance to take as a business. Shame on you. read more

When COVID started, they closed the gym. No staff were there. I called their number and nobody picked up. I called their number several times a day and nobody ever picked up. I couldn't cancel my membership online. I had to cancel my debit card so these goblins couldn't charge me anymore. Months later I got called from a collections company. They said I owed $200+ dollars. It was impossible to cancel and these goblins sent me to collections. Terrible company. read more

Three times I tried to cancel my account and finally was able to. Their cancel policy is literally pushing people away who likes this place. Must know 1. There's $55 annual fee they charge after 90days of being a member. So I was charged twice in one month one day apart. Not kewl. 2. If you wish to cancel you must do a 30 day notice. Best to do it on the day they normally charge your account. Even though they took the monthly payment out and I don't owe them anything they said I have to pay again for the 30 day notice. 3. If you tell them you're moving they'll ask for proof of new address which makes it difficult to cancel subscription. 4. I had to come the third time to tell them, I'm not interested in their service and I'm no longer using the gym. Lesson learn. Ask question before you sign in, they won't tell you a lot of things and even they told me if I decide to cancel I won't have to pay for the last month because they charged me double in the beginning a hundred some for a $53 subscription, they still charge me double in the end. Updating my review for this. I think this is still a great place to train but if you leave anything here, there's a 50% chance it's gone forever. Half the lockers are broken, but they've recently become weird about people having bags on the gym floor (fix your lockers then). Because of the nature of my training, i have to bring out other equipment on the floor with me, which is possible but inconvenient without a bag. Staff would be better off enforcing mask compliance than people having a gym bag on the floor read more

The gym has all the essentials. The space is small, but they use it efficiently so it doesn't feel crammed. I really like the diversity in machines and gym gear. They have a punching bag, TRX bands, resistance bands, yoga balls, and just about everything you could need to get a solid workout in. Most importantly, everything is clean and in functional order! Everyone seems to be respectful of each other too and cleans up after themselves. Even the bathrooms are cleaner than I'd expect from a gym. I do wish though that the space was more ventilated. It's not hot in the place, but it's not aired out enough (especially around the cardio machines). There are random machines that get super great air and others that are in dead zones. It'd really help if they installed fans throughout the space or upped their air conditioning. Some other stuff you should know... You get two free personal training sessions when you first start. I think these sessions are most helpful if you're a complete beginner or have a specific goal in mind. It wasn't very helpful to me, but I'm sure it also depends on your trainer. I'm not big on crowds so I usually plan to come when a fitness class ends. Parking can fill up, but people come in and out quickly so you'll find one if you hang on. Oh, and I'm not sure if it's just me, but the gym is really bright and well-lit. It's not like other gyms where you can hide in a corner or in the shade so you should keep that in mind too if you're thinking of signing on. read more

What a horrible business model to follow, and how sad is it that they're taking such huge amounts of money from clients during the holidays and COVID. Seriously, do not go here. Do not open up a gym membership with them, even when you cancel with them they will try to pull a fast one on you and send you to collection agency for an additional $250 AFTER you've canceled your membership with them more than a year ago. They switched management and when you call in asking for help they'll give you the most generic talking points. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND MUV FITNESS. They are not customer focused and charge you even for a service they didn't provide. I went to this gym with my husband, and myself, I worked out with a trainer from June to October. Since we were planning to move back to another state, my husband asked to cancel membership. Cancellations can only be made by the manager and only on weekdays. Since it was a weekend, my husband left his details. We later received the cancellation documents in the mail. They also canceled on the same day my paid classes in the middle of the month. Also, after the cancellation of the gym, when we can no longer even enter, we were charged for another month of training with a trainer. They took money for the service but refused to provide it since we had already canceled the membership. 100% we cannot recommend this place to our friends and acquaintances. read more

This review is not about the gym, but their customer service. Once you sign up for autopayments of membership fees, it is virtually impossible to cancel membership. They hired a billing company, ABC financial, but do not communicate with them. I tried cancelling membership on the phone, e-mail, mail and all communications ended in black hole, despite some responses I received. I instructed my bank to deny autopayment. Recently I received a letter from collections. Looking at responses here, I see that I am not the only one and such poor customer support service and troubles are not the exception, it is a system. They do not have responsible person's phone or e-mail on their site, and they do not call back. Not sure what I should do next. Given many similar reviews, it may be grounds for class action in court. In addition to their advertised low fees, there are hidden lump annual fees which makes them on par with other, more reputable gyms. My advice - stay away or pay as you go. Never give them their financial information or permit to ACH. read more

I hate to have my first review be a negative review, but I'm beyond frustrated with my Muv experience. My girlfriend and I signed up at the Tansabourn location in early 2020. My girlfriend attempted to cancel her account during the Covid pandemic. She was signed on a month to month contract, and attempted to cancel over the phone. She was not able to cancel over the phone as this is against their 'policy' (it was 2020!at the time, you should not have to cancel in person) She was told that a manager would reach out via phone to cancel her membership, but this day never came. After several callbacks to the club she was still not able to cancel her membership. Fast forward a year and she received a call from a collections agency attempting to collect her past due balance, even though she was on a month to month contract and hasn't used the facilities since not paying. Despite my girlfriends poor experience, I (regrettably) decided to remain a member of the club, and signed a one year agreement in April of 2021. By April of 2022, I was moving out of the city and attempted to cancel my membership over the phone. The representative told me that since my membership agreement was expiring in April anyways, that there was no need for me to cancel and the membership should lapse. Come May 2022, I noticed I was charged the membership amount despite my one year contract ending. I furiously called the club and asked to speak to a manager, and left several messages without response. I still have had no response (as of 7/26/22) and doubt I will ever get one. If you plan on being a member for the REST of your life, this is the gym for you! If you don't plan on being a member for life, be prepared to budget an entire work day to attempt to schedule a meeting with a manager to cancel your membership. read more

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, but the one person that always stands out is Ciara. She is incredibly optimistic and motivating. I was very angry when I initially wrote this review. My membership was sold to this gym. I tried to call and have it canceled. They said I have to come in to the location. I go into the location and then the girl at the desk tells me I have to go in during specific "cancelation hours" and there is nothing she can do about it. No stead of trying to be remotely helpful, her excuse is she doesn't work there all the time. The manager, Jay, just happened to be there late and took care of it for me after that entire conversation. He was pleasant and efficient and clearly enjoys helping people get into shape. The people at the front desk are the face of your company. Great care should be taken to make sure the right people are hired. At the least, train them to have better customer service instead of a not my problem attitude. read more

This gym refuses to hold their word and LOVES stealing people's money. They have zero structure in the management department and have been through multiple "managers". The accounting department runs off of memory and not documents on your account. If your looking for gym full of rude staff and unprofessional managers you found the right place!!
