I was looking for Kosher Middle Eastern food and based on the ratings in Yelp, I decided to try the restaurant, even though it's a 45 minute drive for me. It was well worth it. The food is fresh, delicious, and bursting with flavor. We had a wide assortment of dishes and sauces and everything was wonderful. I will gladly make this drive again. Everything was well packed for take out and was easy to order on-line. Even though it's in the urban environment of Queens, the restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. Parking can be a challenge for many other restaurants in Queens so this is a real plus for this restaurant. read more

Been here three times already to order take out and each time the food was excellent. Service was always welcoming and friendly. I love the falafel pita. The pitas are always soft and moist. I was eagerly anticipating the opening of this restaurant since I saw the sign go up and they did not disappoint....they've beyond exceeded my expectations and imaginations. I've been there probably 10 ten times since they opened and I've been telling all my friends about it. First the place is adorable - cozy, modern and super clean. Second, the owner and staff are welcoming, generous, kind and hospitable. They just naturally exude the Middle Eastern hospitality that I've so missed since visiting Israel, Turkey and other places in the region. Third, the food is just amazing! I've tried about one third of the menu so far and I can't even pick a favorite because everything is so good, so fresh, so comforting....and even familiar items, like kebab, hummus, falafel, are uniquely crafted and not at all ordinary. Everything just bursts with flavor. I LOVE this place and I wish them all the best because I hope to be eating there for years to come. By far the best falafel in New York. Let the owner make your sandwich. The medley of salads they stuff in your sandwich is a culinary art. These guys have it down pat. Their beef kabob is juicy and flavorful. Their imported pitas stay intact to the end so every bite is sumptuous. Today on my ?th trip there I was introduced to their off the menu dish: "The Thing". It's to die for. I don't even know how to explain it. I didn't stop there. I've lived in Whitestone for over 20 years and finally there's a unique eatery worth coming back to. I ordered Shawarma chicken pita and babaganoush via DoorbDash. Order arrived in about 20 minutes! Chicken shawarma was surprisingly spicy in a good way (one of the salads and one of the sauces I picked were spicy). I will be returning hopefully in person when the weather gets warmer to try more of the menu with friends and family in tow. Bravo! read more

Ordered three meals, salad and fries...but when I picked up the food, the fries were completely cold. I requested hot (or at least warm) fries from the counter. She summoned another employee, who approached me and looked at me as if I had just committed a crime. She described the fries as "cold" because "they are in the bag." She addressed the situation arrogantly, telling me that if I wanted, they could re-heat the fries in the oil. I saw no reason for that attitude because the restaurant only had one customer, me. I said...I don't think refrying these fries will fix them. She stated, "That's all they can do." I told them that unless they could replace the fries with better ones, I would take the ones in the bag. I didn't want to get into an argument with employees like that. The salad was also soggy when I got home. So, overall...the FOOD QUALITY IS GOOD, BUT PREPRATION AND CUSTOMER SERIVCE ATTITUDE IS BAD! read more

Finally, a place in Whitestone that has truly fresh and delicious options. They are also super clean which really impressed me as a lot of places these days aren't so much. I know it's new but I hope they keep up the 5 Star rating that I feel they have strongly earned in my book. Now onto the food! I usually order the chicken schwarma pita which is outstanding. It's always cooked and seasoned to perfection without being over bearing with spices. The sandwich comes with me plenty of fresh greens and veggies which make it a really healthy option that's delicious and addictive! I have to have it at least 2-3 times a week now! The owner Joshua has personally made it for me many times now and it's like watching art being created. Lol. The falafel balls are also delicious as they are not greasy like you typically get in NYC. I was very mad from my poor experience in this restaurant. After ordering a large Babaganoush for $12 (a steep price but wanted it badly), I walked to the car to discover it came without anything else, not a piece of pita bread or anything. This was shocking as someone who adores Israeli/Middle Eastern food and a veteran of many Babaganoush dishes. It always comes with bread to dip in it. When I walked back in to ask for the bread, they insisted it does not come with it and that would be extra. After spending $12 they could not spare one piece? I told them that is outrageous given the price and they were completely righteous and unrelenting. I finally said "are you kidding me?" and the Owner (older man) said "OK, OK, calm down" (when I was not irate or making a scene). It was as if that is a craazzy expectation. What a poor way to handle a customer and what cheapos! I decided I will not give them one bit of business after that. And you can tell they could care absolutely less. Not a good way to be when you have not been in the 'hood for too long. Have not stepped foot in there since and shared this with others. They don't deserve people's business.
