I've driven by Franky's so many times and it's always packed with people milling about, enjoying their food truck experience. Today, I was looking for take out and stopped at the truck. One of the two guys running the truck came over and told me their platter options. I asked for a menu. I got the beef shishkebob platter with yellow rice, fresh salad, French fries and the kabobs tasted like steak, for $10. I can see why they're always packed when I drive by. The food has fresh ingredients and is delicious!

This business has 3 locations in Queens. For the past 2 months or so, I have been noticing a food truck parked at the intersection of Cross Island Parkway and Clearview Expressway. Somehow there was an empty area big enough for a few cars to park. I used to see a mobile flower business there sometimes but now the food truck. Every time we passed by they have customers. Today my family was able to try it for the first time. We ordered: Chicken gyro platter ( rice, fries and salad) $10 Lamb stick ( souvlaki ) $3 We ate at the table with cars passing by us within 30 ft. Not the safest but the kids got a kick out of it. There was even an ATM machine on the side of the truck! Pro: - price is reasonable especially for the $3 lamb stick. Good value for big chunks of lamb meat. It will be perfect if the texture can be more tender. Good flavor. It comes with a piece of French bread. - good portion of the platter. Chicken is flavorful and tender. Fries was fresh and crunchy with just right seasoning. - Friendly service Con: - rice was bland. So was the white sauce but the chicken underneath that was flavorful itself. - Table wasn't very clean. There was leftover used napkins from previous customers. Wind blew them off and became trash on roadside. They do provide one big trash can with lid next to the two tables they set up. Conclusion: Will return if we pass by. Will get the sticks ( souvlaki) and fries again. Tip: Cash only. Open seven days 11:30-9:30 pm. The website printed on menu didn't work. They do have a Facebook page.

Ok food, for a quick bite with good service!! The ambiance isn't great being next to 2 highways and a parking lot!! But a good pit stop for quick easy food!!

Avli landed on my radar via my brother - we were at an engagement and looking to grab some dinner…read morebefore heading home. He had been here before and had good things to say - since I'm a fan of Greek food, it only made sense for us to stop here, so off we went. There's no shortage of Greek restaurants in Bayside, and Avli sits among several of them on Bell Blvd. The space has a somewhat casual set up, but it's not too laid back - kinda caught in between. The restaurant is larger than I expected, with a front area containing booths, a back room with tables, and even further back they have a spacious outdoor seating area. The decor isn't too noteworthy - simple and inoffensive. The menu contained classic Greek dishes but also a few more items I wasn't familiar with. They started us with a plate of pita and tzatziki; a standard, but I thought their tzatziki was one of the better ones I've had; smooth and full of flavor. We also ordered the keftedakia and honey feta to start; the former were probably the weakest component of our meal, they had flavor but were over-fried. The honey feta was very good - lots of honey to balance the cheese, but surprisingly not heavy. For my main, I got the grilled stuffed chicken, which came with my choice of sour or salad (I got the former) and side (I chose lemon potatoes). For soups, my brother recommended the avgolemono which was delicious - the combination of the chicken, orzo, broth, and lemon worked really well together. The stuffed chicken itself was delicious - the meat itself was pounded thin, and balanced really well with the feta and spinach stuffing. I'm too used to stuffed chicken dishes being haphazardly assembled, but I can tell this was made with care. Service was very good - the whole team was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, I had a great meal Avli - it's some of the best Greek food I've had in a while (take my non-Greek opinion as you will), and I would definitely consider returning if I'm in the area again.

We went pretty early and it wasn't too crowded so we got a good table. Food is excellent per usual. Always switch between the chicken and pork doner since they're both delicious. I've been here…read moremany times, and my usual orders--the Grilled Chicken Breast, Beef Souvlaki, crispy Calamari, or the small meat platter--are consistently fantastic. There is something truly special about their seasoning that makes every single dish amazing. What really sets Maria's apart, besides the incredible food, is the outstanding hospitality. Maria and her staff treat everyone like family from the moment you walk through the door. It's that rare, warm atmosphere combined with consistently delicious food that makes this a place I always look forward to returning to. Food (5/5): Consistent and amazing. The seasoning is excellent, whether you're getting the juicy grilled chicken, perfect souvlaki, or the crispy calamari. Customer Service (5/5): Exceptional. Maria and her team offer the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel like part of the family. Decor (4/5): Warm, inviting, and comfortable--the perfect setting for a great neighborhood spot. There's a lovely rustic, yet high end vibe. It's also immaculate. Our server was fantastic...just the right balance of friendly, attentive and helpful. It was hard to choose appetizers because I actually wanted one of each. There aren't a lot of Mediterranean choices near where I live currently so my eyes were definitely WAY bigger than my stomach. That said, we shared the halloumi and three different dips served with warm pita. Then we added a last minute choice of grilled sweet sausage for my stepdad. Before we even received our appetizers, they brought a lovely pile of warm pita with delicious sides to accompany: olives, white bean spread, and red pepper hummus (I believe... whatever it was, it was delicious!). The appetizers were outstanding and it was really hard to pick a favorite. Each one of the dips was delightful: taramasalata, hummus, and eggplant. I tasted a bite of the sausage and I understood why my stepdad enjoyed it so much (perfectly cooked and just the right amount of seasoning). The appetizers were new to my mom and she truly enjoyed everything. Her main course was crabcakes and she raved about those as well. I chose the Souvlaki with a side of grilled vegetables and it was exactly what I wanted with perfectly spiced and not overcooked cubes of chicken. The other grilled chicken dish got a huge thumbs up...and that's from a super picky eater. We topped everything off by sharing a large piece of cake that was very decadent....and even though I love chocolate,.... no way I could've finished it by myself. It had an Oreo crust and the rest was a rich chocolate mousse. Next time? Baklava. Looking forward to going back to visit the fam and enjoying Maria's again. Maybe they can open up a location near Saratoga? Just saying...

The Greek fries were a soggy, mushy mess. The kabob was way too overdone and chewy and tough with no flavor at all. The chicken gyro was scant and tasteless - nothing but an explosion of lettuce when opened. One of the lemon wedges still had the stickers on it. Not one, but two stickers. Makes me wonder..... were they even washed??? The baklava was standard. The rice pudding is always good. My husband and son enjoyed their regular gyros. The service was still good, and the ambiance is bright and welcoming, which I appreciated. The gyro itself was just okay this time, nothing too memorable. The fries were good definitely needed some salt, but that's just my personal preference. The chicken skewer was solid and probably the highlight of the meal. My biggest issue was the Greek salad. It was mostly cucumbers, and the feta cheese had a really strange flavor. I'm not sure what brand they use, but I've never tasted feta like that before, and not in a good way. It completely threw me off. That experience alone was enough to turn me away. I think I'll stick with the pricier Greek spots that I know are more consistent.
