I've driven by Franky's so many times and it's always packed with people milling about, enjoying their food truck experience. Today, I was looking for take out and stopped at the truck. One of the two guys running the truck came over and told me their platter options. I asked for a menu. I got the beef shishkebob platter with yellow rice, fresh salad, French fries and the kabobs tasted like steak, for $10. I can see why they're always packed when I drive by. The food has fresh ingredients and is delicious!

This business has 3 locations in Queens. For the past 2 months or so, I have been noticing a food truck parked at the intersection of Cross Island Parkway and Clearview Expressway. Somehow there was an empty area big enough for a few cars to park. I used to see a mobile flower business there sometimes but now the food truck. Every time we passed by they have customers. Today my family was able to try it for the first time. We ordered: Chicken gyro platter ( rice, fries and salad) $10 Lamb stick ( souvlaki ) $3 We ate at the table with cars passing by us within 30 ft. Not the safest but the kids got a kick out of it. There was even an ATM machine on the side of the truck! Pro: - price is reasonable especially for the $3 lamb stick. Good value for big chunks of lamb meat. It will be perfect if the texture can be more tender. Good flavor. It comes with a piece of French bread. - good portion of the platter. Chicken is flavorful and tender. Fries was fresh and crunchy with just right seasoning. - Friendly service Con: - rice was bland. So was the white sauce but the chicken underneath that was flavorful itself. - Table wasn't very clean. There was leftover used napkins from previous customers. Wind blew them off and became trash on roadside. They do provide one big trash can with lid next to the two tables they set up. Conclusion: Will return if we pass by. Will get the sticks ( souvlaki) and fries again. Tip: Cash only. Open seven days 11:30-9:30 pm. The website printed on menu didn't work. They do have a Facebook page.

Ok food, for a quick bite with good service!! The ambiance isn't great being next to 2 highways and a parking lot!! But a good pit stop for quick easy food!!

I was also crazing something lighter and Mediterranean so this fit the bill. On to the food, the sole and dips were the only thing we tried that was worth getting frankly. The chicken souvlaki was def the worst thing we ordered. It was too charred and completely dried. Just not an enjoyable entree. The sole was yummy but did not blow my mind. The Bifteki was good but not as good as the sole. It was on the pricier side. 3 entrees, 1 app was over 120$. The interior and staff were great! Unfortunately, I don't think I will return.

I've been here…read moremany times, and my usual orders--the Grilled Chicken Breast, Beef Souvlaki, crispy Calamari, or the small meat platter--are consistently fantastic. There is something truly special about their seasoning that makes every single dish amazing. What really sets Maria's apart, besides the incredible food, is the outstanding hospitality. Maria and her staff treat everyone like family from the moment you walk through the door. It's that rare, warm atmosphere combined with consistently delicious food that makes this a place I always look forward to returning to. Food (5/5): Consistent and amazing. The seasoning is excellent, whether you're getting the juicy grilled chicken, perfect souvlaki, or the crispy calamari. Customer Service (5/5): Exceptional. Maria and her team offer the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel like part of the family. Decor (4/5): Warm, inviting, and comfortable--the perfect setting for a great neighborhood spot. Price: Around $35.00 per person.

The service was still good, and the ambiance is bright and welcoming, which I appreciated. The gyro itself was just okay this time, nothing too memorable. The fries were good definitely needed some salt, but that's just my personal preference. The chicken skewer was solid and probably the highlight of the meal. My biggest issue was the Greek salad. It was mostly cucumbers, and the feta cheese had a really strange flavor. I'm not sure what brand they use, but I've never tasted feta like that before, and not in a good way. It completely threw me off. That experience alone was enough to turn me away. I think I'll stick with the pricier Greek spots that I know are more consistent.

The calamari…read morethey now mix with fried veggies but the price didn't go down even though you're getting much less calamari. Nobody asked for that! It used to feel welcoming when you went in, but not anymore. The souvlaki has this weird, overly soft texture, without much flavor. The amount of feta in the salad ... you might as well not even give any. The gyro meat is still good and the pitas don't feel and taste stale anymore. The grape leaves taste went down hill. The tzatziki is still one of the best that you can get. Mozzarella sticks don't have seasoning anymore and made it feel like eating them was just biting down into hard cardboard. I'm gonna give them a break for now and check back in a few months. I'd recommend them only if your nearby and really craving this type of food.

Souvlaki…read moresticks are good for a quick bite but usually we get a beef/lamb gyro platter or a pita sandwich - Greek fries if you have a friend to share. I've been going to King Souvlaki for many years. Nowadays you can also order on UberEats/DoorDash but for the best, just go in-person of course. The Greek Fries are great with olive oil and feta but it is a large portion. I believe you can now upgrade the platter fries so you can get to taste the flavor without it being over the top. Our go to order is the platter but you can never go wrong with a sandwich either. The rice is seasoned well and with the tzatziki sauce and small salad - it's always a good plate. They do also have chicken options but beef/lamb is the way to go in my opinion. The gyro is has great flavor but it's also not overly greasy like some places.

My only complaint was the tzatziki sauce. It was much thicker than expected and had a stronger tartness, rather than the creamy, smooth texture I was hoping for. That was a little disappointing, but overall, it was still a solid meal.
