The first company told us that the floors were too old & worn and that the only way we could refresh them was to rip out the original floors and replace them with modern panels. We mentioned how sad we were to lose our original floorboards to a friend and they suggested we reach out to Adam at Wood Vitalize. I'm glad we did! Adam came to the house and, immediately after saying hello, got down on his hands and knees to give them a close look. He helped us to pick an option that would protect the floors and give them some new life, without sanding off the character they'd gotten over the last 90 years. He also helped ensure the rose inlay in the original floors wouldn't get destroyed with his process (other flooring companies had told it was unsaveable). Wood Vitalize's quote for the work was reasonable and they even replaced a few floorboards that had gone rotten underneath the radiator without charge (thanks again!). They were able to do all the floors in our 3/2 townhouse in one day (arrived on time, stayed late until it was done). I'm very pleased with their work and owe our friend who referred them a big thank you! So I'm passing it forward. If you've got floors with history and you want to keep them don't let someone talk you into ripping them out until you talk to Adam!

She said she never heard of people doing that. I've received lists like these from vendors and contractors who have done renovation work in my home and apartment. She also told me the company did at least four jobs in my complex over the past year. So, I asked Natasha again for a list, and she said those lists I've gotten were probably of relatives not actual customers. I told her the same could be said about GOOGLE reviews. At that point she decided she no longer wanted to do business with me. If the company did work in my complex there would be proof of insurance on file. Instead, when I asked her if she looked over the insurance requirements, she said her lawyers were handling it. It was very old carpeting so a lot of the cushioning/padding that was underneath was stuck to the floor as well so they made sure all of that was scraped up without damaging the wooden flooring below. I just had to do some mild cleaning the following day to remove dark spots and they gave advice how to get that up. They did a excellent job! They cleaned up everything and took the carpet and scraps downstairs to the recycle area.

I learned later, with other craftsmen, that with correct tools and consideration of my desired outcome, it was not necessary to butcher my floors on their edges. This flooring company tore my floor up. I did try to go cheap so I went with them. I did not know that when we negotiated price, I negotiated away the sealant ti protect floors and allowance to butcher my floors. I was told back/forth 2/3 coats on floor. With/without sealant? Angel said 2 coats sealant. Soon dirt is well in the grains of wood. I know because I can see where a rectifying area was made with the sealant compared to everything that sticks with floor. I have question is it the @Bona #Bona product. My first rodeo. Fixing will cost me an entire 675 sq new floor. It aches my heart. I don't have that kind of money and I wanted a nice outcome. If I had been informed more, I would have work harder to have paid more instead to spend so much more now fix in a few years after I save to do it. Why are workers not honest?!!!! Please inform the consumer the cost of cutting price. I have regrets that will cost me now to redo and seal my floors, and more, if I want to resume my useable sq ftg because you ate it away to close the gaps you butchered. Please do not do this to another customer again. Just be honest even if you don't get the job. I am so hurt.

I needed to get the hinges replaced on a noisy inside door of my house (the joys of being a new homeowner), and I got several responses from contractors across Yelp. Andrei's stood out both because it was the lowest price quote, and he had the best reviews of any other respondent. It seemed a little too good to be true, but I figured it was worth taking a chance. I'm glad I did, because Andrei IS too good to be true, and yet he exists. Excellent communication, punctual, thorough and completely self-sufficient, the hinge replacement process started off great. Then, after expertly replacing the hinges, and even sanding a bit at the base of the door where it caused the door to stick when opening and closing, he checked to see how the door opened and closed - the door was now blissfully quiet, but still stuck, and he identified the door latch and plate as needing to be adjusted. Above and beyond! The door works perfectly now, it's literally like a new door. And because the door was to my mother-in-law's bedroom, having Andrei provide this superlative service scored me a few points with her (well, at least for a few hours, until she found something else to grumble about). I pre-ordered my carpet expecting a quick install and had to wait 2 years because the closing of my place was delayed and they held the carpet for me and did the install after i finished renovations. Lovely people work there and some of the hardest working crew. the price was amazing for the quality of the carpet. it was soft and plush just like i wanted. Hope i don't have to install again for at least 10 years but if i do i will be using them in the future.
