My husband and I have been visiting, and occasionally purchasing from, this store for about 5 years now. It just moved locations within the Fashion Valley mall, but is still on the main floor, located right next to Kendra Scott. The staff are always so nice and friendly. This is actually the place where we learned all about engagement rings and what to look for when purchasing one; one of the sales associates took the time to educate us and it was very informative. I also come here periodically to get my rings cleaned (I get lifetime ring cleanings since I'm a customer) and everyone who helps me is great. My husband purchased my engagement ring and wedding gift here, we got our wedding bands here, and I've bought my goddaughter's baptism jewelry here. I love jewelry. But I absolutely adore Na Hoku jewelry - particularly their jewelry set in rose gold. I cherish every piece that I have and obsess about adding to my collection. All of my Na Hoku jewelry has been purchased via their online store, as the closest store location to my home is a 4-hour trip for me. On a recent visit to San Diego, though, we made it a point to actually get my feet into a store so that my eyes could feast on the beautiful selection that Na Hoku has to offer. This store lived up to everything I hoped it would be. I was assisted by Kristen, who was so patient with me as I teetered back and forth between several styles, and then ultimately several pieces within a certain line. We tried multiple chains back and forth. Tried several earrings. Batted ideas back and forth. Called for my husband (who found a comfy seat outside while I indulged). Kristen was so kind and helpful while I was trying to make up my mind. She helped me choose the perfect necklace, pendant and earring set that tickled my fancy, then wrapped it securely in a travel pouch so that I could carry it safely back home with me. A wonderful experience - and I couldn't wait to get home to wear my new trinkets. In the meantime, I continued to wear my Hawaiian Slipper - a Na Hoku creation of course! All of my every day jewelry is from Na Hoku, including my wedding ring and wedding band. Before my wedding I had drunkenly misplaced my wedding ring which was eventually found but it was all warped when it was found. I was worried it would have to be send to Hawaii to get fixed and take 6 weeks and was scared I wouldnt have my own wedding ring for our wedding. However all the ladies at the shop were SO nice and SO helpful! They have a contracted jewelry repair person here in San Diego at their shop and it was fixed and ready for me in under a week! In 2016 my wife and I purchased the "Bellarri La Bouquet" ring at The Fashion valley store. My wife wore it maybe a handful of times in the six months she had it when one of the stones broke in half. The ring was not dropped or banged on anything. We ended up having to pay $300 + to get it repaired by the designer of the ring. We were told it was not a defect in workmanship. I'm writing this so others can be cautious and make sure to fully understand any warranties that come with the jewelry sold at this store and this ring in particular. My wife rarely wears this expensive ring because she is afraid of it's durability. read more

When leaving my watch which was purchased from na hoku in fashion valley the "warranty" was not honored and they ask you to pay for repairs before they are done. How can you not love a Jewelery store? My boyfriend is from Hawaii and he noticed that I never wear the necklace that he gave me. He thought " I should give her something she can't easily take off." He bought me white gold Heirloom bracelet. Yellow gold is more traditional however I thought it looked too old. He personalized it with my name outside and engraved his name and the date he gave it to me (since it was Valentine Day's gift and like I was going to forget who gave to me ...=) ). There was so many options and every thing was hand engraved... extra cudo points for those. From deciding to personalizing it, everything was made easier by the people helping us. Since we wanted personalized, they had to get it from Hawaii but they timed it perfectly to Valentine's day. But this is not the end of the great customer service. Since I got the option with my name engraved and filled it with black things (they have one filled with Black things, leave it not filled or just raised... I added a picture of my bracelet so if you need an actual image please look for the picture) it was eventually going to chip out. I was using my hand a lot for my work it was inevitable that I needed to get it repaired. I brought to them see if it was repairable (if it wasn't I was going to just take out the black things... but they did tell me it was repairable or refillable), they clean it and since it is a repair, they told me they needed to send it to Hawaii. Ok by me, I am glad they have one set place where they are able to control the product quality Granted since I asked for the repair during Holiday season, they told me it was going to take a little longer than their usual turn around time. I was ok with that too since they did explain it before hand. I got it back and it was like brand new. It took me a while to get used to have that extra weight on my wrist. I have gotten it cleaned one more time and since there was no repair to be done, I just drop it off, go get some shopping done and then come and pick it up. And Voila, brand new bracelet waiting for me. =) P.S. It is very good weapon too... just ask my boyfriend.... I am obsessed with Na hoku and their products so much that I came to check out wedding rings with my boyfriend. Long story short, we were traveling and took longer than expected to get past the Mexican border. I called 45 mins before closing, "what time do you guys close?" "6. But we open at (10?) tomorrow for your convenience." Pedal to the metal. I dont live here. We showed up five minutes to closing. We announced that we rushed here and apologized for our late arrival, We know they close soon and we will be qiuck "Did you just call?" She asks. You can tell by the tone she's annoyed. I am wearing a Na Hoku necklace and I want to see the matching ring. The senior associate passes us off to see the piece I want to a new employee, but I pass engagement section! I want to see! I ask to see a wedding band. She is required to hold an ID? I get it, combatting theft. But frankly, I've been traveling and looking for a wedding ring, trying on offensively priced Tiffany and designer rings left and right valued ten fold of what I wanted to try here, and not once did anyone need to hold an ID. Also, we HAD TO SIT DOWN. I tried on every essentially piece in the vegas store, and we worked fast together The sales lady was a joy! I'm currently feeling like a convicted felon trying to buy my wedding ring here. Needless to say, the manager waited by the door the entire time I rushed through the store. They made is very difficult to buy something from them and when I went back to exchange it for something different (not a refund), I thought they were going to have stroke. I didn't want any money back, just an exchange for something very similar. They weren't easy to work with and everything had to go through the manager, Cheryl, who isn't easy to get a long with at all. I have spend tens of thousands of dollars at the Na Hoku stores in HI and that meant nothing to them to try and provide good customer service to a long time customer. They definitely need customer service training for everyone in this store. I will never again buy anything from this store and don't recommend others do. I'm trying to save you from a potentially bad experience. There are many other jewelry stores with great pieces, so I recommend you go there. read more

I've been going to Hawaii with my family since the mid 80's so I've know of this jewelry store company for a long time. Now that my fiancé and I were about to get married I had found the ring I had always wanted from this store. We drove 2hrs from Orange County to get there, spent almost 2hrs in the store sizing and trying on rings. I placed an order for a custom ring prepaying the whole cost of $1200. This was on a Saturday, it is now Tuesday afternoon and I'm at work and my fiancé is calling me very upset with the jewelry store on the phone telling me she's canceling my order, and for a good reason. Apparently they called her and told them they made a mistake and the ring was an additional $300 and they wanted my credit card to charge me the difference. My fiancé told them that I had already paid for it and they need to honor that price( we also signed a contract agreement for it at that price) but the store said they will not do that. So we canceled the ring because that is completely not right. My fiancé then called their corporate office to complain, in which their attitude was that they don't really care. We were told the district manager would be contacting us, that was 2 weeks ago, still no call. Needless to say having know this company for a long time and my love for Hawaii I was beyond disappointed with all this. They definitely do not have the aloha spirit when it comes to their customers. read more

Love, love Na Hoku's jewelry ...too bad the manager of this store will keep me from ever stepping foot in the Fashion Valley location again. I won't go into a long discourse over the details of my visit there today, but suffice to say that customer service is way off Kristen The Manager's radar. Like other unhappy customers have posted, managment in this location would rather take a condenscending and unyielding tone with their clientele than try to help them out. Case in point: my husband purchased a watch in Honolulu while we were on vacation last week, two days ago to be exact. After purchasing it, he had tucked it away safely in our carry on and did not go to wear it until this morning. That is when we noticed the scratches on the side of the watch's face. The manager at the Hawaii location had assured us after we bought the watch, that if we had any problems, we could go to Fashon Valley and they would take good care of us. That statement could not have been any further from the truth.... Long story short, Kristen refused to exchange our scratched watch for a new one. She also refused to refund our $450 even though we had the receipt and we were returning an unworn watch that was only in our possession for two days. She said she would call the manager at the Honolulu store for us, but just our luck, he was not in. So as far as she was concerned, there was nothing she could do for us. But while she was making those calls, my husband asked to see another stainless steel watch from their jewelry case and lo and behold - it had scratches on the side of the face too. When we pointed this out to Kristen, she said they were not the same scratches like on our watch. Come again? Isn't a scratch a scatch? Since she had no comeback for that one as it was clear that their merchandise that sits in the case does get scratched, she asked us to leave the store. And we happily did, never to return again. In the meantime, we have contacted the Honolulu store and they are more than happy to help us out. Howevever, if you do find yourself at the Fashion Valley location, please ask for Alana. She was the ONLY person of the staff of four working today who was wiling to treat us with some respect and courtesy. She really should have Kristen The Manager's job. read more

The only reason this store gets 3 stars is because they do have some beautiful pieces. That being said- my mom and I walked in on the morning of 12/21 and the salesgirl followed us around giving us the stink-eye as though she was making sure we weren't going to steal anything! Literally, every counter we walked to, this one salesgirl would come over and watch us. As we perused to the back of the store, she would follow us and then step behind the counter behind us and watch us some more. She wasn't just waiting to see if we needed help- which we would have asked- she was watching us to make sure we didn't try to take off with the jewelry. Which was funny because there was a fellow waiting to be helped at the kona section. It was a degrading and terrible experience. My mom comes out once a year for the holidays and she always looks forward to shopping at Fashion Valley since there aren't any good stores where she lives. I have bought jewelry from this store in Hawaii and in Fashion Valley. I purchased a pair of 14K Gold flip flop earrings in Kauai in the middle of January. I started wearing them the 4th of February. A week later the clasp on one of the earrings broke and the earring fell off. I almost lost the earring. I took it to the Fashion Valley store and they were not willing to replace the earring. My choices were to have them send it to their jeweler for $50 and pay for the clasp or to send it to Oahu for their jeweler to evaluate and probably charge me to fix it. This is unacceptable customer service for a $300 pair of earrings. They should last longer than a weeks wearing and should have been replaced with no questions asked. They didn't even seem concerned that this occurred. I definitely will not purchase another item from this store. read more

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW... Every time I walk into this store I am greeted with an "ALOHA!" which makes me feel like I'm on the islands of Hawaii! (Maybe that's why I tend to spend more here cause I feel like I'm on vacation! HA-HA!) I found this store online at first around the time when I was on the search for a unique, and memorable engagement ring for my now fiancee. I had originally looked at other jewelry store websites and they were pricey (no matter where you go to get an engagement ring, they are all pricey), but when I got to Na Hoku's site, I felt like the price justified the uniqueness of the ring. As I mentioned above, the first time I walked into this store, I was greeted with an "ALOHA!" I mentioned to the ladies that I was in search of an engagement ring and BOOM...I was instantly treated with the VIP treatment with my own consultant, my own little area to view rings, and all the time in the world (I never felt rushed or pressured). The employee answered every question and was very knowledgeable and helped me every step of the way to find that perfect ring, (which it was EXACTLY what I was looking for at a reasonable price and that my fiancee LOVES!) -1000 would be my rating! This company is the worst! I brought my pendant in for repair because the bezel needing to be rebuilt. This was in May of 2021, I finally received my pendant back in February of 2022 only to discover that they did not actually repair the bezel at all! I then brought this back in May 2022 and they shipped my pendant back to Honolulu and tell me that it will be 6-8 weeks. It has now been 10 weeks and I phoned for an update and they have shipped my pendant to CHINA!!!!! UNREAL!!! THIS WAS A PENDANT GIVEN TO ME BY MY DECEASED HUSBAND AND THEY KNEW THIS!!!! I would never do business with this company ever again, no excuse would be sufficient to put a customer through this! Their customer service is a joke and all they do is give another date in the future to pacify the time and to get the customer of the phone. PATHETIC COMPANY!!!! I have demanded my piece be returned immediately and they are telling me that they cannot accommodate my request. This is THEFT!!!!!! PURE AND UTTER THEFT!!!!! I purchased the Yellow Gold Waterfall Pendant with Opal Inlays and Diamonds pendant for my girlfriend in Feb of 2017. The pendant was a Valentines gift. We returned the pendant in early May 2018 for repair because an opal inlay had dislodged. On the good side, the pendant looks amazing. On the bad side, the opal inlays are 'extremely' fragile. We were advised that you should never wear the pendant in the shower. Run off of shower products, such as shampoo, will destroy the inlays. Additionally, we were advised that you should never sleep while wearing the pendant since this will likely cause scratches on the pendant and/or damage the inlays. Repairing the inlays in not cheap and you will be liable for the repairs. We learned the hard way as my girlfriend did shower on occasion while wearing the pendant. Yes, we were guilty of the crime. Ouch! In summary the pendant looks beautiful (5 stars), but the inlays are way too fragile (zero stars) for our taste. If you are ok with a fragile piece of jewelry, I would purchase the pendant. It is beautify. On the other hand, I would not purchase the pendant if you are not able to wear kit gloves, at all times, while handling the pendant. The pendant is quite fragile. read more

Terrible customer service at the Fashion Valley store, very disappointed, the worst experience. My husband bought me a bracelet here for Christmas (in San Diego), well I went to put it on and it broke, literally broke on my wrist. So we decide to go to take back and exchange it for something else (we were in Denver for the holidays)....we pick out a diamond white gold ring, it was too big, but the sales lady said we could still get it and get it sized after the craziness of the holidays, but gave us the advice to go to Claire's and buy these plastic bands that you can put on the bottom of the ring, that allows you to wear a ring that is too big. So obviously, I was excited to wear it, so we decided to go buy this. We get back to San Diego, go to the store at Fashion Valley, the lady says, well not sure if we can bring it down so many sizes, but we can try...she then says there are some scratches on here already, in a very condescending way, oh and no refund or exchange is possible. Which I tell her I do not wish to exchange this and for her info it was one of their employees that told me to wear this ring, would just like it re-sized. She takes my ring and says it will take a couple of weeks to get this re-sized, as they have to send it to Hawaii. Well 3 weeks go by and I do not hear anything. I call the store, they tell me I should have it in a few days. Finally it comes in, we are now in the end of January, the ring was sized a half of a size too small, I cannot wear this ring. The same lady continues to ask me if I am sure I cannot make this fit, seriously lady?! So she says well we can send it back again and see if they can make it bigger, but it may change the look of the diamonds and the ring. Well, okay I say, what choice do I have. Again, the ring needs to be sent back to Hawaii and I have to wait a couple more weeks. 3 weeks later it comes in, it is now February, this is my Christmas present!! The ring still does not fit. Finally I tell the same lady, I am not happy with this ring, I am not happy with all the issues I have had with this company and I want a full refund. She then decides to give me attitude and says that cannot happen. I ask to speak to her manager, someone higher. She calls a district manager and another higher up, after me waiting for over an hour. I can get a full refund, as I should. So she does the paperwork, I walk out with nothing, just a receipt saying we will get our money back. Well, 2 weeks go by, I check our bank account and there is no refund of this money. I call customer service to ask why I have not received this, the lady says, oh its still not processed. My question is how long can this really take? If there were any issues with this refund, why was I not notified? What if I had never checked? Would they have kept my money? This experience left a terrible taste in my mouth, I would never ever recommend anyone to buy anything from this place. They treat customers terrible, have the worse communication and do not care if their customers are happy. I never even received any type of apology, not a thing, just head ache after head ache. read more

The store "manager" told me they wouldn't do anything but exchange. I explained that I was told 30 days I came in at about 25 days. She said "yea, we're not returning this ring. you can call the district manager but I've worked for her for 12 years and she never returns". I was very disappointed to discover that Na Hoku has horrible customer service. The store manager at Fashion Valley was very unprofessional, rude, and condescending. Not only was she extremely unpleasant to deal with, she also accused me of lying to her and told me there was dirt on the inside of a never-worn ring I was trying to exchange for a different size. After a very drawn out process and unnecessary waste of time involving the district manager and VP at Hawaii headquarters, a week later my issue was still not resolved. Na Hoku's company philosophy seems to be: The customer is always WRONG. There are plenty of other stores that do not have shady business practices and carry the same types of jewelry. It was beautiful... but not the right color gold... and come on now.. you know white gold is always glimmers more than yellow gold. I initially had a bad experience with the jewelry that I purchased for my girlfriend, as the necklace broke, and corporate's customer service was less than friendly. However, after speaking with the VP of sale (who personally contacted me about my issue that same day, Na Hoku provided me with a return label, free of charge, and sent me a replacement jewelry with 2 day air shipping. Moreover, the VP of sales offered me a discount, which is def. out of the norm for Na Hoku, and was greatly appreciated.
