My wife and are great fans of Indian cuisine and we've experienced sublime to disappointing dishes over the years. While I'm not sure that all of Naan and Brew dishes have quite reached sublime, they are nonetheless, really, really good. (The garlic naan is sublime). The service is consistently attentive and they can accommodate folks who have lactose and gluten intolerances without diminishing the wonderful flavors of their food. I went in for the lunch buffet. I am generally not a fan of the Indian restaurants in Bellingham. I recently watched an international cooking show and they showcased a first class Indian restaurant. It became obvious to me that my problem was that I just hadn't had any good Indian food. When I went into Naan and Brew I was greeted by the two people out front. They were very friendly and helpful. I was by myself and they went out of their way to make me comfortable. They also gave me tips and told me what went well with what. The bread was perfectly cooked, hot and very good. I've never reviewed a restaurant before so this is my first time. This place is incredible! I drive 2 hours just to come eat here and I'm not the biggest fan of driving. The flavors are amazzziinngg. Their food is actually spicy and I know spicy I'm Mexican. I have been to other places and will order a 5 and the food will taste like a 2 . I usually get butter chicken but I have tried the mango chicken and the majestic chicken they are incredible. I also recommend the vegetable samosas as appetizers. I took my friend to this restaurant and she loved it. Mike the owner even gave my friend a mango lassi on the house. The mango lassi was delicious as well! I ordered the mango chicken to go because my mom loves Indian food and that was on the house as well. Thank you so much Mike! My taste buds are ecstatic every time I eat here. Ordered from Uber Eats, which we do often. They gave us only one rice for the 2 entrees even when we ordered 2 rice. When i called to request a refund on one of the rice, the girl I spoke to claimed it was a large serving meant to go with both entrees. In the past we have ALWAYS received 2 rice boxes of the same size. She basically acted like I was lying and said they never do that. You're telling me I just paid $6 for two cups of rice?? And thats on top of a single entree already being $14... She was completely unwilling to help us and was honestly pretty rude about the whole thing. read more

I'll be quick and diligent for this review, as I want the restaurant to look at it from a learning perspective and not a negative review. -Atmosphere: Very dull and uninviting. This is an Indian restaurant, but there's nothing that shows Indian culture. No art, blank walls, basic and cramped seating. On Rice, specifically their Barkley location, does an excellent job of incorporating the cuisine's culture into and around the restaurant -- Naan & Brew needs to follow in their footsteps. -Menu: Lots to choose from. I watch a lot of Kitchen Nightmares and one of the top things Gordan Ramsay always fixes on a restaurant is shortening up the menu. There's just so many things to choose from, and it's actually overwhelming. When I was looking at it I kept imagining Ramsay yelling at the owner about how overly-big his menu is. That being said, there should be more than one option for dessert. -Food presentation: very nice, clearly has thought put into it as it looks quite good and appealing when served. -Food: honestly, nothing special, at least in my opinion. I would much rather go to Taste of India on Meridian, as at least they have a kick and character in their food. Overall: Bellingham is a great city to open up a new restaurant, as the community is very supportive and welcoming. But I feel like Naan & Brew is using that as a reason to not try. Food isn't special, ambiance is dull and appearance is unappealing, and I don't see any reason to come back to the restaurant when there are better options in town. read more

This is the first time to have eaten Indian curry in the U.S. I ordered chicken curry, rice, and garlic naan. You can choose the spicy level of curry from 1 to 5, and I ordered level 2. I was worry because I don't like spicy things very much, but the spiciness was just right for me. I felt a little strange because the rice was something I was not used to eating, but everything was great! Curry and naan were really good! The atmosphere was also good. The waiter was good, and everyone was having a good time eating. If there is one thing I have complaint, I feel It was a little expensive. But I recommend this restaurant. This town was seriously lacking in delicious Indian food until Naan & Brew opened. This place is the best in town, hands down. I had the chicken tikka masala, the veggie samosa, and garlic naan. All three were delicious and tasted fresh and homemade. It's the first place in town I've tried that doesn't taste like shortcuts were made to save money or time. Everything was so, so delicious and my wife and I will definitely be back! Yes, it's a little pricy but Indian food usually is. Honestly, if it's not...question that. Naan and brew is hands down the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. My favorite is the saffron chicken and garlic naan. Phenomenal! The service is quick and friendly. Delicious!! The thali plate was enough for two people for sure! The thali changes everyday but this day it was butter chicken and tikka masala that were very authentic and delicious. Just ordered takeout from this place because India Grill is closed today. I got the lamb vindaloo: the meat was over cooked and dry, not to mention scant... the dish was mainly potato. The sauce was not prepared properly; although it was spicy as it should be, the spices were not robust (tasted like vindaloo/spice was not sautéed properly.) The most disgusting part: I bit into a potato that was moldy! I spit the food out and threw away the dinner. Worst $19 I have ever spent in my life. We sat down and ordered. My daughter and I ordered chai and after 10 minutes the server came and told us it would be out in a minute. A few minutes later she came out again and said that they weren't actually going to be making any that night. So we ordered a mango lassie (at $7?!!). The food arrived after perhaps 40 minutes (it was VERY busy so I'm not complaining too much about that). We ate and had just finished when the lassie arrived. I really wanted it with the meal not as dessert! The most annoying thing was that they have big TVs on all the time in there but muted. No one was watching them (why are they even on? Can't people eat without staring at a TV?) and the one which was dragging my eyes toward it was showing a hugely bloody Clint Eastwood movie. The blood was bad but having to look at that Republican loon was worse! So I asked them to turn it off because no one was watching it and the blood and gore was unpleasant whilst trying to eat. They turned it over to sport. God, really, just turn it off! They also could use some art on the walls and some lighting that isn't strip lighting (so many restaurants suffer from this idea that people want to eat in what feels like a doctor's waiting room. Please, get some lamps!) So this low score is for the ambiance, the TVs and the service. The food was very good but I fear I won't be clamoring to return even though it is probably the best Indian food in downtown Bellingham. read more
