Mediocre. Maybe I'm spoiled for Indian food, coming from a place with a huge Indian population and lots of Indian cuisine options. But this was just meh. The samosas where tiny bit size things, mostly crust? They should be the size of my fist. The naan was flat, no puff. The tandoori tikka kebab was ok, but an underwhelming portion. I don't know about table service, I ordered take out, but it seemed nice inside, looked clean. I feel like if it were cheaper, I wouldn't consider it mediocre, but for their prices, it should be better. read more

Ate takeout from here yesterday. The people were very friendly. The restaurant looked fine. We got some chicken pakoras. Five dollars each. Dry as a bone. Had to choke them down. Had some palak paneer. 16.00 for a single serving and very mediocre. Had the mixed tandoori. A couple pieces of chicken. Two shrimp. Maybe two very small strips of lamb meat. That was it - on a bed of raw onions. Overcooked to the extreme. The shrimp were nearly made out of sawdust they were so dry. It was also extremely expensive - maybe 26.00?. This place, yesterday afternoon, was overpriced and the food was absolutely the worst. Really disappointed. read more

Sorry for the negative comment but I have to write this: We hired Tandoori Bites to cater food for three separate wedding events. in the first event the quality and quantity of the food were severely compromised. Specifically, the company combined three distinct items into one dish, and the overall quality of several items was so poor they had to be trashed. We did takeout as this was Valentine's Day and restaurants were crazy. Even finding a place that did takeout was a slight challenge. But for this mother-daughter road tripping pair, Tandoori Bites hit the spot. Located next to a gas station, the hole in the wall turned out to be a gem. We placed our order and pickup was spot on the time they said. The food was hot and well prepared. I noted other yelpers talking about the spice-heat levels. Ordered lowest heat and it still had fire. Biryani vegetable rice - flavorful though the vegetables in the rice kind of missed? Saag paneer/ loved this version. Slight heat and lots of flavor. Channa Masala - a favorite of both my daughter and myself. Tandoori prawns - liked a lot, especially with a squeeze of lemon. The order came with extra rice. We should have requested no rice. We wanted to try an East Indian restaurant and this place sounded interesting. The food was good and tasty. I got a mango lacci which was yummy. The service was good and friendly but there was a bit of a language barrier issue. We wanted clarification of the menu and what certain items were. The items we ordered were meat, sauce and rice but I wanted some vegetables. The server suggested an appetizer that had vegetables. Turns out it was fried grated veggies & batter, not the "veggies" I wanted. The ambience was nice, sort of typical for a small Indian restaurant. Toni was our server who gave excellent suggestions and described the specials one of which was the chicken bone in Del Makhni which was fabulous. The chicken was very tender and everything had a wonderful flavor without being over spiced. My husband ordered the chicken curry which was also fantastic. The spice level was exactly as he requested and very flavorful. The rice was perfect being light and fluffy and not sticky. We also had the spinach goat cheese naan which was excellent. I'm sorry to have to write this review for a small business. I grew up in BC and we are spoiled for Indian food there. This is the first Indian restaurant I have tried in over four years of living here, and now I know why. Samosa was cold inside and crust was too thick. Naan was forgotten completely, which wouldn't be a big deal if the mains were good. We ordered the saag paneer - watery, not thick, and chewy paneer. Butter chicken (at least that's what we ordered!) looked and tasted nothing like it should. It was pale yellow and watery. None of the food was piping hot. All lukewarm. Service wasn't great. They tried to replace the samosas but we just wanted to leave and asked them to take it off the bill. We took a few forced bites of the food and just couldn't do it. We've had their Samosas and Pakoras. Wonderful! Our only complaint is you're given only a tiny, tiny bit of tamarind chutney. Luckily my son is a chef and makes chutney often. This cute little family eatery knocks it out of the park for flavor. Hands down the best Indian food I've found north of Seattle, and a fun and creative cocktail menu as well! Yes: it's in a strip mall. Yes: it's not posh and the napkins are paper. Yes: sometimes, the servers don't understand what you ask them for, but they are attentive and do their honest best to make you happy. The flavors are deep, rich, and fearlessly spicy. The proteins are treated with respect and the vegetables are prepped with precision. The naan, roti and papadam are warm and fresh-tasting, and the chutneys are piquant and exciting to the palate. You will find no phoned-in Campbell's soup-tasting nonsense here. You can trust this kitchen to deliver the yum; order whatever sounds interesting and be delighted and amazed! It's a fun place to eat, and I recommend it highly. Is it perfect? No - but wherever it lacks, it makes up for it resoundingly in value, interest, FLAVOR, and satisfaction. Me and my sister ate here this evening and it was delicious. I had the lamb vidaloo my sister the chicken curry. The meat melted in in my mouth! As good as I remember from eating there before. I checked out Tandoori Bites a couple of weeks ago while I was out running errands in the area. It has a very unimposing location in a strip mall next to a gas station, so I was hoping for a hole-in-the-wall gem and was met with tasty food and a bizarre atmosphere. Tandoori Bites has a pretty extensive lunch/student menu with some excellent deals, in addition to their full menu offerings. I settled on the butter chicken pasta and my husband ordered the fish and chips. The pasta dish was flavorful (spiced just right for medium heat) and came with a large enough portion to have for another meal. The fish and chips did not...dazzle us. It was super bland and I ended up spooning out some of the sauce from my dish to give his any flavor. So, probably avoid the fish and chips at the Indian place (not surprisingly). The restaurant had some fun devor and was already decorated for the holidays when we walked in. There is also a bar attached to the restaurant, if that's what you're looking for, too. The service was pretty slow and at one point, every staff member seemed to leave the building and come back in at once like 10 minutes later. I cannot even begin to speculate what was going on out there. Anyway! This spot has some good Indian food, but is probably better suited to take-out. read more

Wonderful Indian place around the area. Garlic Naan was delicious delightfully crisp, a perfect thickness. Vegetable samosas were delicious as well with both the green and purple sauces, just a touch of salt in the dough to keep things interesting. I was absolutely in love with the butter chicken, however. The blend of spices was perfect, as well as the chicken that was so tender you could cut it with a spoon. Medium spice is a wonderful amount of heat, even though I could have gone up one step more. I had also started with an Indian beer, first time I had ever seen Indian beer in an Indian restaurant. When all was said and done I still had a good amount of butter chicken and rice left to enjoy another time...which I had! I should add that this restaurant also offers a lunch buffet so if you are new to Indian cuisine, this is a WONDERFUL and inexpensive place to start. read more

Ordered the chicken tikka masala with a side of garlic naan. It was good, not great. Color and flavor were a little on the bland side compared to other tikka masala's I've tried. There wasn't a lot of chicken and it was very soupy. Color seemed oddly dull for a tikka masala. Flavor was bland but still good enough. The chicken was overcooked and really tough, I ended up feeding a lot of the tougher pieces to my dog because they were hard to chew. The garlic naan was thicker and more chewy than I like it. All in all, it's a decent place for a bite, but the price point for the quality you get just doesn't really make sense to me. There are Indian restaurants in our area that charge less for a better quality meal. read more

Literally my fav restaurant in Bellingham!!! They're so sweet and their desserts are my absolute favorite, they also gave me an extra lassi today XD which was so sweet. The Bhature was great, the chole just okay but in combination it hit the right spot and satisfied my craving! The portion was generous. The Halwa was also very good and the service friendly! This was my first visit to this restaurant and am so happy I decided to stop and eat here on a Saturday night. Dec 2023. We ordered the buttered chicken, 3 different naan and and egg plant dish that was outstanding and the vegetable soup. At spice level 4. Everything was amazing.... The vegetable soup was a simple soup but the flavor was sublime and I already want to go back and order it again. The rice was cooked perfectly. I've been coming to tandoori bites since before i moved to bellingham. It's always been a go to because the food is insanely delicious and i rock with the music. BUT. Recently I haven't been able to come, lemme tell you why. About a month ago, I got a to-go order from here because the food slaps. The man hands me my to-go order- everything's dandy everything's perfect because this isn't about the food. I look at my phone and see someone had added my snapchat, instagram, and sent me a few messages. I kid you not, the man who gave me my food order had used my contact information for my order to contact me for other purposes. I'm just an 18 year old girl that loves Indian food and I will just say I'm pretty uncomfortable with this situation. My number and name is given for no other reason than my tikka masala. Tandori Bites catered the food for wedding on July 2024 In Mt Vernon. The food was delicious. With every bite of appetizer and main menu all our guest and family members talked about it for weeks. Food was one of the important planing for wedding. We did pre wedding tasting of food and it was awesome. With every bite just wow . The palate of tongue with touch of Desi flavors just wow. Lajawab full of flavors and spice with every bite. The food was delicious full of flavors incredible memorable for years to come . So many friends and family members called me personally and compliments on delicious food. The menu we choose was unique too. Example. Like fresh organic vegetables on tawa . I grew up eating indian food and have been trying new indian restaurants every now and then since i moved to Bellingham. I must say this by far was the most disappointing to me. My chicken was completely raw, i hadn't realized since my lights in the house were dim because my husband and i were watching a movie. As i was eating i thought the texture of the chicken was quite off, it was slimy so i took it back to the kitchen and couldn't believe i had been eating raw chicken. This can cause serious food poisoning to someone. You have to make sure you are serving people cooked food. Just because its charred on the outside, does not make it cooked on the inside. Wonderful food. Service is spotty. In their defense my group arrived at 4 pm for dinner. Early by our normal standard but a good relation from the east coast just drive in after a flight to SeaTac. I love the bar at Tandoori bites. They have special that are unique to TB. But they are delicious. As I said we showed up at 4 pm missing the lunchtime Buffett (all one cares to eat). I am told the buffet is not to be missed sadly we did. As I said the service was spotty which means they were very attentive when we arrived they took our order and delivered the food and drinks quickly. We were left alone, which we enjoyed, until we were ready to leave. So I had to track down a server to get our bill and some boxes for the leftovers ( a must). read more
