There are restrooms and water fountains as well as picnic shelters. A couple of fishing ponds are next to the trail and there are 18 holes for disc golf. Hole #1 tee is next to the picnic pavillion (86th st entrance). This is where the Harvest Festival used to held during the fall before they changed it to Rayola Park.

No one was in the gate attendant shack when I pulled up but there were easy to follow instructions to self pay. It was only $5 for a day pass which I thought was a great deal! The hike along the nature trail was beautiful. There are many areas where you're able to look out over the lake if you follow the "hiking" trail. I took my doggo with me. I personally didn't think it was a very strenuous hike, but I'm also fairly active. Be careful and watch your footing. I also came across what I would call a "hidden beach". Unless you hike to it or know where to locate it via boat, it's quite private. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to come back once everything greens up and bring a lunch with me to enjoy it for longer. The trail seemed well maintained and there wasn't any trash anywhere which is what I always like to see. I hope to get back to this lake before the end of summer. I'm trying to visit a different Tulsa District Corps lake each weekend this summer! Would highly recommend!!

Other structures in Woodward Park include a cobblestone driveway, a brick carriage house, a sunken garden, a glass conservatory, the Teaching Garden, and the Tulsa Garden Center, which provides horticultural and environmental activities. Woodward Park is so beautiful. Whether walking underneath the canopies of diverse tree species of the Arboretum or wandering through the colorful animate gardens, each area is uniquely breathtaking. i'd stopped at the park for a quick picnic dinner on the way home from dining on light fare at a…read morenearby restaurant on brookside. coming from the south on peoria ave, i was pleased to see that the westside of the park along which i'd been walking was that which has the entrance, off peoria and woodward park dr before you get to peoria and 21st heading south, to the hill where our high school cross country team would run hill repeats. and though after dark is not an ideal time for picnicking or running hill repeats, especially the latter considering the lack of lighting on that specific hill, a few large rocks at the base of the hill absolutely sufficed for the picnicking on the light fare of dot honey mustard pretzels i was doing the other night. nonetheless, i've docked a star due to the large construction site at the park, although i'm willing to transfer the energy into providing a reason for a 4 star review to give as close to starpower as i can muster, so long as the park commissioner or leader of coordinating construction company can breakdown what renovations are in progress on an already beautiful, standout public city park ? and by the by, you can enter the park from 21st st at rockford ave, but just would need to drive a little further around the perimeter to reach an interior parking lot as opposed to driving up the hill off peoria and woodward park dr.

At the center, a nice sized pond and an open area for play. As parks go, I enjoyed my walk this afternoon here despite the wind and rain. Keep to the side of the trail and try to keep your eye out for bicycles as there is definite debate as to who has the right of way (Hint: it's the pedestrians but when your handlebar hits someone and you dump into the road, it's too late.) Playgrounds, picnic tables under a huge picnic pavilion, a basketball court and a disk golf course round out the other goings on here. Oh, and a dog park. got there, immediately liked addition to shared trail of distinction between running and vehicle…read morelanes via green paint at potential collision junctions. next, oh wait, before that, getting ready to cross riverside dr, i heard and saw hooping on the 2nd most southernly of the 5 courts, and hollered something bout hooping on the volleyball court because i've come to associate all 3 of the most southernly courts with a volleyball net setup, even though the 3rd most southernly and northernly is the only court i actually saw with one tonight. okay, so, yeah, the hooping was decently good too, saw a couple tough drives to basket, including a smooth finger rolling lay. i'd not hopped into any of the pickup runs, but glad to be there and see some action. by the way, the drives and lay transpired on the 2nd most northernly court, which tends to be where the most serious hoopers congregate from what i've saw. further, i'd heard a security officer notifying people to the courts closing in about 15 to 20 minutes, before cutting off most of the lights, leaving enough for each courtgoer to safely disperse.

I bring my binoculars and always spot a great variety of birds. The trees are absolutely stunning... there are over 100 species of trees. Honestly... it's a little escape from a hectic world. It's the perfect place to bring a book, find your spot, and just relax for a while. Whether you're looking to unwind, enjoy nature, or have a quiet moment to yourself...this park is a hidden gem that never disappoints. Perfect for getting in your steps too! I like to go early morning before it gets too hot or busy. Starting in May they have free canoe rentals!! They also have very good food. Love their fresh fruit cups which they prepare every morning daily, their sandwiches are fresh and very good! I've also had their ice cream and it's delicious. When you first walk into the main building, you can check out chess pieces and other games. Some of the tables have the chessboard design printed on them. Perfect for getting your chess game on. Every Wednesday and Sunday, you can bring your dog. Over at the boathouse on the bottom floor they have a little museum called "Drawers of curiosity." Hard to believe The Gathering Place doesn't charge an entrance fee!! It's just simply amazing!
