If you've ever made your way north on Clark Street, you may have noticed a few blocks of "wholesale" clothing, accessories, and doo-dad stores. These always scared me a bit. Fearing rejection without a wholesale Tax ID number (boutiques and other small businesses buy in bulk from these types of stores), I always blew off the strip on my way to Tiztal...it's random looking, bordering on trashy. I came to find out many do sell to individuals at a bit higher price, but still I was never tempted. But, today my life has been changed forever. No longer will I have to trek to Forever 21, Target, Marshall's, Mandee, T-maxx, etc for a last minute cute shirt, dress, purse, earrings, etc. I will come to Nabi. Nabi. Nabi. Nabi. A cute, contemporary oasis on this strip selling to normal people...stylish pieces at affordable prices. The good? -Parking (meters) is a breeze! Side streets during the day are good, no permits required. -WELL priced. -Great selection, casual to super dressy. -All sizes, easily marked by colored hangers. (nice!) -Plenty of sizes in back if you don't see what you need. -New stuff 2x per week. -The girls will help you in/out of the pieces, give you some honest feedback and suggest other stuff. I walked out of there feeling like I was Angelina...that's priceless, yo. A few drawbacks? Of course, but I'm still elated. -No refunds, exchanges or returns. You betta like it. -No dressing rooms: they have a long mirror. Wear a cami and yoga pants. There are all women, so not a biggie. -CC min is $25. (won't be hard, trust) -They follow you around a little bit. But, they are nice...so talk 'em up! -Shoes are ugly, skip. OMG, and if I didn't love this place enough...after you buy all your crazy, awesome, cheap shit (I obviously swear when I'm excited, again...my apologies)...go 8 doors down to their entire store full of....ACCESSORIES. (another review). I'm f'in out of breath. I didn't even know if I should share this...but then I'm like, whatever...I share all my secrets and the world is still spinnin' and I'm still gettin' hooked up with great deals all the time at places like this. I've just discovered this AMAZING one block stretch of clark, often refered to as 'the wholesale district'. The main puropose is for boutique buyers to come buy wholesale goods at a discounted price, though most of the stores allow the public in, just with no discout obviously, though the prices vary on many good, overall its a very good deal !! I've never really looked at the clothes but the accesories are are really unique and there are soooo many to choose from. Don't get discouraged if your don't see what you like in the first few minutes... you will walk in to the next store and spend $100 guarenteed !! The wholesale district is a must visit for any one who loves accesoriesing... or basically has any fashion sense whatsoever... and Nabi is the best of the block !! read more

I love places like this. Cheap and trendy. I don't want to spend a fortune on something that is not going to be cute next season. This stuff probably wouldn't last that long anyway. Adorable clothes that are cheap, and some of it cheaply made, but who cares when you are not paying an arm and a leg. I recently went into a boutique in Memphis that had two of the exact same dresses that Nabi had (I checked the labels--exact same stuff) and this pretentious joint was charging FOUR times what Nabi had on their tags. Love Nabi for keeping it real. I did not find what I was looking for on my initial trip to Nabi but my interest was piqued enough to want to return. read more

If you're looking for the same stuff they sell in all the neighborhood boutiques but at garage sale prices, grab your best girl pal and hit up Nabi! Literally it will take you at minimum an hour to go through all of their accessories. I believe the store is split up into two separate stores with one of the stores having bags, scarves, belts and clothing while the other one is a mega emporium of trendy jewelry along with more bags, etc. I couldn't believe all the great finds they had for $5!!! I seriously freaked out. The owner/employees are super friendly and offer you a shopping basket. They also chatted me up a bit about how I found out about them. Overall very excellent experience. The low down: No returns, cash only unless you are spending $25+, then you can use a credit card. Nabi is to Akira as 1990 Sammy Sosa is to 2002 Sammy Sosa. It's the pre-engorged version of Akira. Nabi knows what it is: cheaply made, fun, clothes that don't cost an arm and a leg. Tops are $22-28, dresses are $22-48, sweaters are $24-50. I'm not sure how different this stuff is from H&M, except that it doesn't feel like such a sad emporium of cheap goods (even though Nabi is on a strip of sad emporiums of cheap goods). Nabi is boutique-y with Forever 21 prices. Scored some ridiculous stuff here! Earrings, belt, ruffly dress, and a few plaid shirts. The stuff is cheap, but you better love it because there are NO returns. I've always been quick to do a walk through and then walk right out, but recently when I went in here and the staff was constantly bringing me new pieces to try on, I left with a motherload of goodies for under $100, including the fabulous cocktail dress. read more

Cheap jewelry, cheap clothes, cheap accessories. What is there not to like? They always have the latest trends for half the prices. You do have to be careful though because sometimes you can find the same stuff here at another store on the block for about half the price. My suggestion...go window shopping all down the block and then back to get your favorite pieces. A lot of them are at multiple stores for different prices. read more

Like many others have said, they have gorgeous dresses at great prices. PLUS, they actually do have a fitting room, contrary to what some reviews have said, you just have to ask to get into it (it's in a room labeled "Office", not obvious to see). Anyway, I walked out with a gorgeous cocktail dress for $32... so nice. read more

Yay for cheap clothing and accesssories in Uptown. Nabi is that perfect fit between Forever 21 and H&M. When you need something a little different, but you don't want to pay "different" type prices, get on that Clark bus and head to Nabi. I didn't buy myself any clothes the last time I went in, but I did score some cool accessories for my friend overseas. I was able to stretch my dollar a bit further here than I would have on Michigan Ave, which was a definite plus. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! I am a new business owner.....just had my GRAND OPENING for my boutique this past weekend...and sold 4 out of the six bags I purchased about a month ago, on a trip to the Chicago wholesale district. I have already made back what I spent on all six, plus made a profit and still have 2 bags left...this is only day 3 for my business. I found the sales lady quite sweet, offering suggestions as she walked around, did n't think she was following us around in any way. They do have a changing room, maybe that's a recent addition. The three of us who stepped into the store, found stuff that suited our tastes. Would definitely come back here, seems like there's a high probability of finding at least something at Nabi for under $25 that I'll like :) read more
