A gorgeous cake at my friend's bridal shower was from this bakery - raspberry (I think) with a whipped icing that was amazing! I'm pretty picky about cake, but this was light, moist, and not too sweet! Also, whipped icing is my favorite and so hard to find (done well at least). I'll definitely order my next cake from this spot! read more

I was excited to come here today. I showed up yesterday and was greeted with a smile. The person behind the counter was happy to be there and help me. I asked questions about the cakes. I was informed that cakes take 2-3 weeks to order. I understood that and decided to purchase a premade and designed cake. This brings me to today. I arrived to make a choice. I unfortunately came when school let out. There were ten kids rushing in to buy cookies. Good for them. Bad for me. These kids were loud and uncontrollable. I took a few pictures of the cakes and sent them to be reviewed by my girlfriend. She wasn't totally please with the quality of the available cakes. We decided to purchase a cake anyways. I explained to the gentleman behind the counter why I wasn't choosing the one cake. And he got an attitude. I was making a purchase so he shouldn't be so rude. I asked for writing to be put on it. He did put it on. But he didn't show me the final result. He taped the box shut and rushed me to pay and pretty much get out. After I paid. He said thank you and then He walked away. I opened the box to look a the writing. I believe a little more care should have been taken for the writing. This cake is for a 90 year old birthday. I wish I could say I had a good experience. But after this experience. I'm sitting in my car writing this review. Wondering. Why would I want to come back. Why would I even order a cake that takes two weeks to get. When the customer service part of this experience was dreadful. I would like to thank them for the quality of service. But I can't. Because it was non existent. read more

We love WFB! Their signature whipped icing is delish, light and not overly sweet like other places. The decors are just beautiful, sometimes it's just too pretty to eat. We come here all the time. Wild Flour made me the most beautiful cake for my wedding in August. I wanted a really wild non-traditional cake in pastel colors and they accommodated my every wish and desire! They even let me make the design myself, which was a pretty complex 4 tier cake with wild patterns, paint smudges, drips, watercoloring, and a tier covered entirely with sprinkles. The cake was delicious and everyone at our wedding LOVED the design! I wish they made American buttercream cakes, but their signature frosting was actually pretty good. Everyone who we worked with and spoke to was extremely professional and prompt, and it couldn't have been a more perfect experience. Thank you so much, Wild Flour! read more

Walked in after a recommendation from a local to try to find a small cake for my daughters birthday. Spent more than I wanted on a premade cake they had in the case. But it was the best cake we ever had! Not too sweet, just delicious! Three layers. Beautiful design. Very special cake! read more

This was our first time ordering from here and I sent a picture of a cake for my daughters sweet 16. We exchanged a few emails in regards to flavors and other details but decide to come in person to discuss the details. We met with Genevieve and she was sweet!! My daughter was able to tell her what details she wanted and we finalized everything. This cake was SO yummy!!! We had guests who aren't big cake eaters compliment how delicious it was. The frosting was their signature butter cream which tastes almost like a whipped frosting. We will be using this bakery for all of our cake needs! We also ordered a brownie add cookie tray which were very good. read more

This was a yelp let down for me. I did not do a planned cake or order but stopped by to purchase some treats to celebrate my husbands birthday. First, selection was low. There was 4 flavors of cupcakes, some mini cakes, couple cookies, and a couple various desserts. There was nothing super chocolatey and the mini cakes were vanilla cakes. I ended up getting a little of what was available. One thing I got was a buttercream filled cookie. I will admit that I am accustomed to good buttercream. This buttercream, was awful. It tasted old maybe (the last time I have tasted buttercream with that texture was my wedding cake, a year later). My husband had an individual almond chocolate trifle, he was not very positive in reaction. I am wondering how long things stay in the case. My transaction was friendly and fast given the volume of customers. I will say that this bakery looks like it does produce a lot of cake as the work area was large and there were many people picking gup orders. I think it might be another experience if you were to custom order a cake. I would not go there again to pick up pre-made desserts. read more

You know how sometimes you get a GORGEOUS cake, but then you bite into it and go, 'Ummm, nope. Not worth the calories,' and after the party you find all these plates of cake lying around with one or two bites taken out of it? This is NOT that place! Cake flavors and fillings from my daughter's grad party were seriously delicious! People came back for seconds and thirds! And make no mistake, this cake was STUNNING! I emailed a photo of my girl's mortarboard decorations 'for inspiration,' figuring we'd get some similar frosting colors and some flowers. Oh no, they pretty much replicated it, all the way down to the tassel! Plus there was the easy ordering and delightful customer service. Upon pickup, I was even offered grip squares to keep the cake from sliding around in my trunk. Wow! Wild Flour Bakery, you definitely exceeded our expectations. I found this place on yelp looking for a birthday cake today for my daughter. When I walked in a very nice woman told me she would be with me in a moment as she was helping another customer. That was fine as I haven't been here before and wanted to check the place out. Nestled in an old strip on Lake Rd I parked out front. There were only 4 or 5 spots. I'm not sure where I'd park if it was busy. Luckily I got a spot. Inside there were cakes on display in several places. The case had cookies in jars on top, cupcakes, cake bars, other fine bakery treats and cakes. I picked out the pictured cake and the nice woman asked if she could put my daughter's name on it. She did a beautiful job. There were several people working on cakes in the shop as well. The cake itself was very good. Tender moist cake. Chocolate was not overdone and was well balanced. The frosting was very creamy and not overly sweet. Actually, it wasn't sweet at all compared to stuff you get at the grocery store. My daughter said she loved it as she doesn't like the overly sweet cakes from the grocery. I also got a lemon bar to go. Lots of powdered sugar on top. Sweet and tangy. Crust was perfect. This was a preview of what was to come. I knew I picked a great place. I will definitely be back. Everything was top notch. read more

First off, this review is not for one of their cakes, it is for one of their pastry trays. Picked one up, with reservations, for a few days after Christmas 2018. Cost hovered a little above $60. The tray includes a variety of about 10/12 different items - probably 4-6 items of each. Items included the likes of opera cake, brownies, mini-vanilla cupcakes, cheescakes, key lime tarlets, cannoli, peanut butter square, etc. - each item is the size of a two-bite piece. The website said it contains the likes of cream puffs, eclairs, macaroons, etc. - nope that never happened even though my spouse specifically asked about those items when placing the order. In all fairness, they do say the tray is "seasonal" so some items may not appear on your tray. Overall, the looks of the tray was great! Beautiful! I asked the clerk to let me know what items are on the tray - she had no idea and asked a co-worker. The co-worker tried but clearly missed naming many of the items - probably named about 7/8 of the 10/12 items. But let's get into the key issue - the taste of the items. Terrible. Nothing was good. Nothing stood out. Nothing at all! I can clearly say there was not a single item that I would like a second of from this tray. There is nothing that I can "Wow, that was fabulous - can't wait to go back and grab those items." In fact, ALL the guests declined taking home any of the leftover pastries from the tray. That left the 3 of us at home - other than me, the other two did not venture within 6 feet of that tray. My spouse even wondered how many of these items do they really make from scratch - good question! That left me and I felt obligated because we paid so much for it. Major mistake here! Key question - would I recommend them? No, not at all. Would I try a cake from there? Yes I would as I have read numerous other reviews, all very positive. The key for me - if I am buying, it will be the smallest cake they make! I don't want to make another mistake. Final point - they have some odd write up on the counter saying they pass along the credit card fee of 3% or something like that, if you pay by credit card ... seriously I am not looking to play "payment games" when I shop. Overall a very bland and tasteless experience with their pastry tray! read more

I recently attended two weddings that had cakes from Wild Flour and they were the best wedding cakes I've ever tasted. Wedding cake can be really bad really fast, but the chocolate/peanut butter multi-layer confection at my friend's wedding was perfection. That being said, we had Wild Flour make a cake for a friend's party, and it was exceptional, as expected. We had so many compliments. Love, love, love! It tasted great and was beautiful. They really care about their customers and delivering an exceptional product (which feels really refreshing). I'm not sure how anyone could give less than 5 stars! They will have my return business over and over. read more

I had a contract with Windows on the River and White Flour, so I didn't really research any other bakery shops, but their cake was delicious. The entire process of cake-tasting was enjoyable and every single person I worked with, which there were several due to Covid, was extremely friendly and attentive! I would absolutely purchase from this bakery again. Their cake and filling options were endless! We even received a wedding card from them wishing us luck and happiness. Ordered a birthday cake a week and 3 days before I needed it. I had just been turned away from Kelsey Elizabeth, Wild Flour was happy to accept the order. We spoke with a gentleman there who asked my daughter how she wanted it decorated and the flavors etc. There are many cakes around the shop to get design ideas. The cake was ready and beautiful the day we picked it up. Many compliments from our guests and of course, it tasted great!!! No leftovers! read more

We got red velvet with cookies and cream filling - some of the best cake I have ever had (and we had no guilt in enjoying it every day after the wedding for a week!). I'm not sure if I just got a bad batch of cake but this place was terrible. Their cake doesn't taste like anything. My fiance and I tried an almond cake and a plain white cake and the only thing that made either bearable was the fact that there was frosting on it. Too bad the frosting tasted like crap too! My fiance took one bite and threw his out. I took one bite and was not pleased in the least. I'm going to see if it somehow has developed some taste by the time I get home today and if it hasn't, I'll have to chuck mine too, even though I hate to waste food. This bakery seems like it's following the trends of a lot of bakeries where they like to use a lot of fondant (which I don't like and didn't try but they had an awful lot of fondant cakes displayed in their window) and make cakes that look amazing but taste like crap. Can people just get back to making good tasting cakes again, please? read more

I love this bakery. I often go by and pick up cookies, cupcakes and other wonderful treats. I recently celebrated my daughters second birthday and had an opportunity to order one of there custom cakes. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and truly exceeded my expectations. The best part is that not only are there cake very pretty but they also tastes delicious. The cake was moist and the frosting was light ad not too sweet. Just perfect. read more

I started coming to Wild Flour in July of 2012 and have refused to buy cakes anywhere else since then. My FAVORITE flavor is the White Chambord with Mango filling it's absolutely amazing at every party and even I've had everyone wants to know what bakery did the cake. About 5-7 cakes later we're still in love with them. They're service is impeccable, I love Andrew he remembers people and is soooo patient and helpful when it comes to cake flavor selection and decorating. read more

Wild Flour Bakery made my wedding cake. It was a simple, 3-tiered cake with butter cream frosting, a ribbon running along the bottom of each tier and real flowers as decoration. The cake arrived on time. The cake was very moist and the filling was also delicious. My only complaint (and it's not a complaint at all) is that I wish they used more filling. But, since each layer had at least 3 layers of filling - each bite was still filled with a great combination of cake and filling. The owner put me at ease when I met with her (4 months before the wedding) and answered all of my questions in a straight forward manner (which is what I prefer). They are a little pricier than other bakeries I met with - but the higher price tag came with friendlier staff and a higher quality cake. read more

This place is doing my wedding cake and they did not make it easy...because every sponge and every filling is soo good we couldn't decide what combinations we wanted! In fact, we still haven't decided as I sit here surrounded by frostings and fillings with cake crumbs all over. Today I got the sample pack which includes 8 (perfectly moist) sponges and a range of frostings and fillings. If I had to pick just one it would be the salted caramel on white sponge. But seriously you can't go wrong with any of the flavors and combinations. Other favorites included the lemon and red velvet sponges and the bavarian creme, raspberry and ganache fillings. YUM. They were very good at explaining all the options and what they're able to do. They are also really friendly and as soon as I mentioned I was here to pick up the tasting packet tye knew my name, wedding date and what we were after in terms of decoration. We were referred to this place by my soon-to-be Aunt in law who has lived in the area all of her life and insists this is the best bakery in the city. While I have nothing to compare it to locally it's certainly one of the best I've ever been to and I don't doubt it's the best in the area. read more

Highly recommend this bakery. They made it so we didn't have to worry about our wedding cake. The design was beautiful & classy, just like we asked for. The flavor was wonderful, we chose lemon with the signature whipped icing. We had guests commenting on the cake being the best wedding cake they ever had! I absolutely loved my experience with Wild Flour. We worked with Mona, and she absolutely inviting, helpful, and kind! The cake was part of a package through the Marriott at Key Center. Usually wedding cakes are dry, and I skip eating it. This cake was amazing. It was gorgeous (without fondant!!) and she did exactly what I asked her to do!! Our cake was layered chocolate and lemon cake with raspberry filling, chocolate ganache, and Bavarian cream. My husband couldn't make it so I was able to bring some cake back to Dallas with me-that was a huge hit. We had a few cookies during the tasting-Now that I don't have to fit in a wedding dress, I'll be heading back there for sure! read more

Working with the professionals at Wild Flour Bakery was a delight. Selecting a wedding cake for my daughter's wedding was not an easy task. She tasted several from several different bakeries and Wild Flour was by far the best testing cake. The cake was simple and elegant. The bakers at Wild Flour took the time to talk with us about what she wanted. The trays fo pastries and cookies were a huge hit at the reception too. We would have never done that without the encouragement of Wild Flour. If you are searching for the right bakery for your wedding in the Cleveland area look NO further. I do love how quaint and cozy this place is it's not really big. It's just really nice and there's also an outdoor seating.

The saving grace today was that amazing GF donut and the one time I had a cake donut it's some crispiness to the bottom. Everything else and today's options were dry bready bummers as usual. The employee recommended I heat up their cake donuts to moisten them. It's a sign they are dry in my opinion lol. Donuts should be sold fresh and not need help to soften up.

I was amazed to hear that this bakery has existed for over 70 years in the same family. I was looking for croissants but they don't bake those. They bake cookies, bread, and a few other baked goods. I bought a sticky bun (I haven't tried it yet), beer claw with walnuts, coconut bun, and a small biscuit filled with bacon (my favourite) plus a very small free cookie was given to me. Everything that I tried was good but a little dry. The prices were very fair and not expensive. I was told that their hours are Tuesdays - Fridays - 7am - 5pm, Saturdays 7am to 3pm. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. I spent $6.25 total which is a good deal. Parking is at the back of the business or street parking. I found a free street parking spot when I arrived. These days, it is a treat to enjoy something local and homemade. It's always worth the cost to have the privilege of supporting a local business. I absolutely will return for more delights. The breads at Breadsmith are fresh and made daily. I don't come here often but I should. I love walking inside to the delightful smell of fresh breads. I first tried one of their breads, the Rustic Italian bread in January 2019 when I bought it from Nature's Oasis in Lakewood, a little cafe and convenience store (see video and picture below). I finally visited Breadsmith in October 2021 and I've been back a few times in 2024. I've bought their white Country Buttertop Bread ($6.75) which can be bought sliced or un-sliced. I've also had their Honey Wheat (I believe that's the name). Both tasted so fresh and good. After 3 days, their breads will start to taste stale because they are made without preservatives. Next time, I'll ask if I can get a smaller loaf of bread instead of such a large loaf because I can't finish a whole loaf by the 3rd day. They also sell muffins, cinnamon rolls, honey, etc. I haven't bought any of those but I've had their pepperoni roll before which was just fine and slightly expensive. I wish they sold croissants. Come here for the bread and stay for the friendly customer service. I'll definitely be back. The cost of all their breads are reasonable. TIP -- They offer a customer loyalty punch card.
