I've gone here a handful of times over the years and am normally super happy with the pedicures and manicures. The spa is clean and the staff are super nice. I got a gel manicure done here for my wedding a few years ago and it lasted ages! Unfortunately, I went 10 days ago and got gel again for my birthday (it was the gold top Korean brand gel this time which I haven't had before) but they are lifting and chipping now. It looks like the nail tech didn't cap the ends with polish. I've never had gels that chipped or lifted before (I've only ever gone to this place before and they've been fantastic!). This is a clean, friendly, and relaxing place and has always been my favorite pedicure spa, but I recently got a dip French manicure and after 5 days my nails look terrible. The color is changing from the bottom up. Also, my daughter had one very expensive tip & dip come off after 3 days (we went back and they fixed it). We were in the salon chairs 3 hours getting pedi & dip nails. We were patient (even though part of the pedicure process didn't happen) but that was a long time especially given the quality of the end product and we paid over $300. They use new tools & towels for every treatment. They seat you as far away from other people & it's never crowded, though when I called times were limited (they probably space out appointments). The salon is clean and bright, and they sanitize/wipe down each station as soon as a customer leaves. Service: The minute I arrived I was greeted with a friendly face. The workers are all sweet, kind, & respectful. They ask your preferences/approval at every step. They keep to themselves unless you're a talker then they'll engage lol. They take their time & work carefully. Their massages are the right amount of powerful. They offer bottled water & hot tea in to-go cups. They offer typical services - regular/gel/extensions/dip manis; variety of pedis (I got a regular pedi & it was superb), & waxing. They also offer nail extras like designs & ombré. Payment: You have the option to pay with cash (5% discount), card, or Venmo for contactless payment. They have happy hour specials & offer discounts on Groupon. They also have a rewards card. I purchased a Groupon for this nail salon since it was the closest nail Groupon near me, but boy, was I blown away! They run a really great business. First off, they have a good amount of parking and the area around the space is walkable. The salon is small, so it is easy to miss, but it was lit up bright at night when I went. Second, having an appointment made my gel mani and pedi a breeze. I arrived and they checked me in, including confirming my services, taking my temperature, and having me pick my colors. They have a nice variety of color options, including pretty gel glitter. My service was fast overall for both the manicure and pedicure, but the staff here also did a great job with their attention to detail. There were a bunch of extras as part of standard services. For example, they use hot stones during the manicures and pedicures. My nails looked perfect and I enjoyed the time relaxing. I also got a free cuticle product as I was heading out (love the extra gift!). This business also does a nice job with the protocol for COVID. Had a delightful experience treating my sister and myself to a gel manicure and spa pedicure. I purchased a Groupon (where they have really good reviews) so it was super affordable. I made an appointment the day before and they were really understanding about us being a few minutes late. The shop is really beautiful and I think they just opened in May 2020. The products they use are all top of the line (i.e. OPI) and the extras (chocolate, crackers, water, tea, coffee) they they offered were really a nice touch. I felt very safe with all of the precautions they took and they were clearly very clean. The best part was that they did our nails perfectly! It's always a nice surprise when a place lives up to the reviews! My friend and I wanted to get back into the pedicure swing for spring, and decided to try Nail and Wax bc of the great reviews. So glad we did!! The Nail and Wax salon is modern, warm, and well appointed. They use the disposable tub liners, which is a plus, as well as individually portioned scrubs and lotions- rather than shared jars, for the bubble pedicure. My friend and I are both women of color, and I'm in a larger body. We were treated so well, so warmly and kindly. We arrived on time for our appointment and we're taken immediately to our seats. Our services were completed thoroughly and quickly, and the quality was top tier. I want to start by saying that I previously left a five star review of Nail & Wax. I'm sorry to see the changes here. The last several times I went here it was not a great experience. They have a lot of inexperienced nail technicians working. You can see from the look on their faces there was a lot of confusion over very simple things. I would only go here if you're looking to have a very basic manicure or pedicure. I recently took my teenage daughter here for gel extensions (I wasn't sure what that meant, to be honest) but my daughter was very clear when she went in the shop what she wanted. She showed them several pictures and asked if they could do it. They looked at it for a minute or two and said yes they could for an extra $50 because it was an intricate design. My daughter suggested a simpler design if they weren't confident. Almost 3 hours later she came out really upset. Her nails did not look good. She was embarrassed and did not want to go back in because the technician had worked so long and hard, she didn't want to offend her. I sent two separate messages and called two separate times to ask to speak to the manager/business owner. I never heard back from anybody. I previously left a great review of Nail & Wax but because of this and other recent visits, I'm having to change it. My daughter spent $140 for the nails pictured below. My daughter had saved that money from her birthday so it was very upsetting to her. I took her the next day to Nails Lounge on Ffx Blvd to have it fixed. THEY DID A FABULOUS JOB. read more

A little different for me to make a review for a nail salon lol but here goes: I came here a few days before my wedding and wanted to make sure that my nails were clean and looked nice. There were going to be a lot of pictures taken and I came here to get a basic manicure. I gave in and did a pedicure as well and I was glad I did. They have a very clean establishment and procedures to ensure the tools are cleaned as well. The nail technician was very polite and made sure I was comfortable. To be honest, the location was next to a convenient store, 711 I think?, so I was a little weary. But when you head instead it's so clean, cute, and inviting. I told them I needed someone gentle and my nail tech was Sarah. She did an awesome job! I loved her nail shaping and clean polish lines along the cuticles. I had a gel manicure done on natural nails. It's a beautiful space that is so well decorated and the salon is INCREDIBLY clean and made me feel super comfortable even with everything going on with covid. All techs were wearing masks, they had shields at every manicure station and have you sanitize before your services! I'm super picky about the salons I go to especially now more than ever because I am pregnant. All the staff were super friendly and very personable too! They have a wide variety of colors and can specialize in Korean nail design and to any design that you have in mind! If I had ten stars go give them, I would. They are fairly new! They are a Korean owned small business and they make you feel extremely welcome. Extremely polite. I am always hesitant to go get my nails done because I feel like I am being judged for something or the other. ( I know, it's an odd thing to say) I don't get my nails done often and wanted a design on my nails. Honestly they did a fantastic job on my nails. My classic pedicure feels like what other places call a spa pedicure. Miss Jessica was very meticulous with her work and spent a lot of time. It didn't feel rushed at all. They gave me a first time gift and also a membership card. A lot of other nail salons I've been too, it feels very rushed as though they want you out the seat so they can get someone else in. Often times, this doesn't help with how the end product looks. During this pandemic, I know it's important to know how businesses are operating. They are a really clean salon. I'm from Calif and my sister brought me here to get a pedicure. THIS PLACE ROCKS!! We asked for the 69.00 package and you get so much for it. First you pick a color like always. Then they have the tub water running with hot water. They ask you if you would like something to drink..hot Macha tea for me please. Then they get you this HOT neck wrap and that felt wonderful. All the while sitting in this awesome foot spa chair. They then start the pedicure part that came with all the normal features. Removing the cuticle and cutting the nails and filing and overall cleaning of the nails. The calluses and dry spots are all removed. The extra addon items was the hot rock rub. The fragrant that I picked was raspberry sorbet. That was put in the water to make it smell super nice. The oil and scrub and lotion was all the same smell. Lots of HOT towels were used. It was one of the best pedicures I have gotten. The ladies were very nice also. The inside of salon was very nice and relaxing and serene. This is one of my sister's go to place. For me, pretty much everything. Lovely, quiet, calming atmosphere. Background music was smooth jazz piano. Chairs incredibly comfortable. Beautiful decor. Gentle (but effective) handling. Heel wax and hot stone leg massage. Hot towels on legs. No unnecessary conversation. Very clean and excellent sanitary practices. And lovely staff. Very fair price for their services. Also, don't despair about the only 3 parking spaces in front! There is more in back, with and an entrance there. It is on a lower level, so there are stairs, but so what? However, next gel manicure damaged my nails, but decided to give them another try, since I had never had gel. This time. i had upgradEd pedicure, which was fine, relaxing and thorough. However, my regular manicure was minimal, at best. Nails in water, clipped, filed and painted. No cuticle cream or hand lotion, nothing. My friend had a dip manicure, her cuticle bled after tech used the electric file and one popped completely off in 3 days, while on vacation.
