I decided to go back to my natural nails so I got an acrylic removal and a gel manicure. I can't state enough how impressed I was with their attention to detail during the entire experience. They did not rush through the process and took their time to paint on the nail design I requested. I sometimes don't have a ton to chat about but everyone was nice and let me sit quietly listening to the music and watching people queue on the boba line outside. For example, I was once pressured by a receptionist to tip in cash, and another time I brought a group in for pedicures and everyone received a drink and snack except me. Today was the final straw. I came in for a pedicure after an exhausting week. Although I arrived about 30 minutes before closing, I was never asked which pedicure package I wanted or which scent I preferred, questions they normally ask every visit. The service lasted about 30 minutes and felt like a very basic pedicure. There was no mask, extended massage, or any of the upgraded amenities typically associated with their higher-priced services. I initially requested regular polish but later switched to gel after seeing a sparkly red color that matched a dress I plan to wear to a wedding. When it came time to pay, my total was $80. I was shocked. Nothing about the service I received justified that price. It felt like I was charged for a premium pedicure despite receiving a standard one. After multiple questionable experiences over the years, I no longer feel comfortable giving this business my money. Usually, I'm not against trying new artists but 30 mins in I knew something is off. She started drilling the old polish off but only the first layer of the chrome, polish still intact. Fine, I thought she'll come back and clean it after doing the cuticles. She then moves on to shaping and I showed her a pic of some standard almond nails I want. And still most of my fingers are mismatching. She finishes the rest of the process, put the drill and fan away and cleaned my nails for polish. The old polish is still on there!! I had to ask her if she will be removing the rest. Like what!!? She then said yes and tries to drill it off. And it is still not cleaned at the end. I'm sorry if there's any disrespect here but at this point I have no more patience in me. So I borrowed her filer and cleaned up the nails and reshaped them myself. Then we move on to applying polish, except she only covered half the nails with the rubber base.....again, I had to ask her to fix it. TBH I was ready to leave at this point. This has been going on for way too long. But I gave it another shot and she finally finished! At least the gel polish turned out decent. I never complain about the service I receive. But I'm sorry, I can't even accept these as "rookie mistakes" if I, a regular customer, understand the process more than the tech, then it is not acceptable. I even arrived early, but my appointment didn't actually start until 15 minutes after the scheduled time. The technician who did my nails was not welcoming at all--she didn't introduce herself and didn't communicate with me throughout the entire appointment. While working on my nails, she cut or nicked me multiple times. I made it clear that it hurt, but she didn't acknowledge it or apologize once. There was a complete lack of care and professionalism. When the appointment ended, I honestly didn't even realize it was over because no one communicated anything to me, I was just walked over to the register. I was then charged $100, even though I had already paid the $50 deposit. When I called to ask about it, I was told the extra charge was for "fixes" and additional services that were never explained or approved by me. I left without a "goodbye" or "thank you for coming." Very cold and hostile service. The person I spoke to (who I believe is the owner) barely apologized and said the deposit would be refunded. I was told I'd receive an email confirmation, but I never did, and I still haven't seen the refund. I also followed up again regarding the refund and still received no response. I've been to many nail salons, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. Needless to say, I won't be returning.
