I'm glad I was able to get my holiday nails done. I've already booked my next nail appointment. Price can be quite steep compared to other places but considering it is in the peninsula and for a nail salon, I love it. They dont rush you and the quality of my nails look great. Parking is a bit limited (as usual since its downtown) but overall love this place. They take walk-ins but from what I heard better to book online very seamless since they are usually always busy.

I opted for a combination gel manicure and gel pedicure, which was amazing! The best part is almost always the warm foot bath, massage, hot stone massage and hot towels! When it came to the manicure, it's actually a dry manicure, which I've never had before, nor have I ever heard of them! Let me tell you, there is such a thing as a dry manicure and I prefer this way better than a wet manicure. I have eczema, so I am very selective of nail salons and this was great! The different drill bits that Tracy used are to exfoliate the cuticles and around your nail bed, so minimal cutting/trimming is done. I made another appointment through their website for 07.13.26, again with Tracy, to have my gel manicure and gel pedicure removed and this time chose the combination classic manicure and classic pedicure. Basic treatments as before except for regular polish, not gel. Loved every minute of it! I would highly recommend this place! Convenient location. Kicked me out of her salon because I asked for my cuticles to be pushed back more. If you're in disbelief, so am I. I went to Hai for my wedding nails in 2014 and was happy with her work. Started coming back weekly to her this year and have seen her about 6 times. She's adorable and I loved talking to her about skincare and beauty treatments. I just can't believe how she treated me today. I may be a slightly picky client, I know that. But why can't you be when you're paying top dollar for a service and coming weekly?! I always give her feedback of her work the next time see her, like: the last mani I had was so beautiful and stayed on for a week! or Hey, last top coat left lines the next day (light pink nails photo) or the polish didn't go to the edge of my nail so it left that part exposed and brittle which caused breakage. Again, I'm not going to apologize for that. I don't know if she was having a bad day today or what, but it's completely unacceptable what she did. First off, I could tell she was in a rush but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to give feedback or that my appointment is less important than others. I asked her to clean under my nails one more time because there was still dirt. She handed me the tools and asked me to do it because she didn't want to poke me. No big deal, I thought. That makes sense. I don't know if that pissed her off or what because when I asked a few moments ago if she could slow down and push back my cuticles a little more, she snapped. I said I'd be happy to forgo my pedicure so I could get a slower manicure. she said "you know what, I may not be the right fit for you so let me just stop". WTF?! I asked her if she had another client because I could tell she was rushing and she said yes. She apparently doesn't believe in pushing back the cuticles too much because it will cause infection. I said why didn't you just tell me that then instead of kicking me out. I'm a reasonable person and it's not like we had any tension before or bad vibes. So weird! She begrudgingly finished my mani (burgundy photo) after I explained is Saturday and no one else can take me last minute. And I still didn't get my pedi. And sure enough, her next client came strolling in one hour after my appointment time. Funny, normally we always allow 1.25-1.5 hours for mani/pedi, not try to cram both in an hour. I'm sorry I had to leave this review, but it was well-earned. Hai could have done 20 awful manis on me and I still would not have left a bad review if she was nice. And there was one time she completely forgot about my appointment and had to drive down to the shop after I called her. Again, don't really care about that, we are all human. But the service today (or lack there of) was horrendous and just negated every prior experience I'd had. It was completely awful and made me feel like crap. In response to the Salon's reply: A quick "I don't feel comfortable pushing back your cuticles" would have sufficed instead of abruptly quitting the job and me having to talk her into finish it. I didn't want a free mani. I wanted good customer service.

The manis & pedis come with a complimentary paraffin wax treatment that other places tend to charge for. My gel pedis can last up to 2 months which is great for summer sandal times. For manis, I usually pop in to get them done before a special event and it's pretty easy to call and get a last minute appointment. They have a large selection of colors to choose from. Note that this is in DTSM so parking is a little hard. I recommend parking at Central Garage. Payment can be done via Venmo & Zelle along with other traditional transaction processes. My pedicures always last a month. The cuticles are always cut thoroughly. My nails are filed to the perfect shape and lengths. They are gentle with my hands and feet as well. I rarely do my nails anymore, but I do get manicures without polish. It feels so nice to have my nails refreshed!
