I came in for a pedicure. The quality of my toes were okay but the experience was not what I expected, the vibe was off. I have came here so many times because I live right around the corner from this place. But I don't think I will be back after my last experience. I felt that since I was a black woman I wasn't being serviced right away. At least 3 women that were not complexion were serviced before with no appointment after I was waiting for at least 30 minutes before someone worked on my feet. I was so disappointed because this never happened to me here. I did not like it and I will not be back. I usually tip very well and I take care of whoever waits on me. It is a shame that only negative views are posted. You can see they are far apart. Read the positive ones and make your own decision. They have the ability to do a group of people for pedicures on one side of a wall that gives you privacy. Great place to do a party with your friends. The owners will correct anything. Don't walk out without talking to them if you didn't get what you wanted. I have been going there for years. Never seen anyone who didn't get a pedicure that didn't last at least 30 minutes. Push back of cuticles can be a health issue if your feet are in bad shape. Don't expect miracles if you haven't had a pedicure in months. They do speak English. If you tech has broken English ask one of the other employees to explain what you want. I hope you give them a chance. read more

I've never left a pedicure in so much pain. The woman who was doing my pedicure was so rude and rough. I kept telling her that she was hurting my and then she actually cut the bottom of my toe with a pumice stone and my toe would not stop bleeding. Even up to the very end she was SLAPPING my legs instead of massaging them. I complained that I should get some type of discount for her slicing my toe open and they me gave me 8 dollars off. Worst Manicure / pedicure I've ever gotten. The pedicure lasted 5 minutes. Just clipped my large toe nail and light scrub on heel then immediately did nail color. Kept trying to to upsell which I continually said no to, which was not great since they didn't even do correct basic service, didn't touch my cuticles. Then the manicure was cut crooked (picture attached). If this wasn't enough they charged $20 more than my mom who got the exact same thing. 5 stars for Kelly. My experience did not start off so great. My pedicure was not good. The gentleman completed my "deluxe" pedicure in record time, which meant no trimming of cuticles and no file after cutting down my toe nails. Kelly was two spas over wrapping up with another customer and I asked if she could file the rough edges. She did better than that, she removed the existing polish, trimmed my cuticles and shaped the nails. read more

I went to get my first ever set of gel nails.... I am most certainly not going back because she used acrylic. Please do your research before going to a nail salon. Gel nails begin and end with a gel, not a powder. Secondly, my tips were not placed well. She had extreme trouble making them stick. She did not do any actual manicure beforehand, except file my natural nail with the e-file... She also never wiped down my hands or nails with alcohol or acetone. The acrylic she used was way too wet, as it was dripping off my nail! She seemed in a hurry and always looking down at her phone, as if she was being timed or she was timing herself. She also clipped my natural nails uneven and ragged before putting on the tips...that in itself is NOT the proper way to apply tips! I'm going back to my sister in law in a few weeks with my mother in law. At least she does things properly! read more

The third and last time I needed my nails removed and it was painful, this woman had the nerve to laugh at me... extremely unprofessional, they remodeled but the service is still absolutely terrible. I went to this nail salon and got a pedicure with shellac. I had a good experience and paid cash. I waited 10 minutes after I paid as I was waiting for my mom and sister to be finished. The next day I was approached while shopping at a department store by the woman that did my pedicure and she told me I underpaid her by $2. I paid the same amount as my mother and sister as we all got the same thing. She was demanding that I pay her the money right there in the middle of the store. The work was well done and I am pleased with my acrylic set. HOWEVER, the man doing my nails charged me $5 more for shellac but didn't even use shellac. I was also charged twice for my visit and had to go through the process of disputing the extra charge with my bank. The tools were dirty and were not sanitized, and the walls and floors were dirty. I really hate to give a poor review because I've been coming here for years. I had a new nail tech today she was great . The owner proceeded to repremend her in front of me. Then literally yelled at her because she was trying to tell her something. I pd with my debit card and I put my tip on it. I asked the owner when my tech would receive the money. Just curious because I didnt know if it went on her check or if she recieved it at the end of the day. She literally started yelling at me why I would ask that question they dont keep their tips. So, I thought since Andy rocked out my pedicure, a full set wouldn't be an issue for the salon. Andy wasn't there, so I got put with a woman. I asked for a thin white tip line with a light gray base. I showed her a photo of what I have always gotten at previous salons and she seemed oblivious, insisting the base was beige, when it was blazingly obviously gray. She then proceeded to put white tips on my nails, instead of doing a thin line. I told her I wanted my nails short, because of work, and showed her the photo, again. She then filed my nails down ridiculously short and left the edges sharp. I had to ask her to file the edges down twice. Then, she wanted to put the base on...when I had this stubby nail that was half white. I told her to just paint them a nude pink. She had no idea what nude pink was, so I said pale, and again, she showed me a medium almost red pink and I had to google a photo to show her. Don't you work in a salon? By this time, I had been here almost an hour and just wanted to get out of this woman's chair. I had her paint them and she did an awful job. The sides are not covered and it looks like I need a fill in...on the same day I got my nails done. I will never be back, unless it's for Andy and a pedicure. read more

At first I had a great experience and the pedicure was great, but when it came to my manicure it was not as great. The polish bubbled up, it was very streaky and where she filed it to redo the polish it seemed fine but I didn't have time to see how she did ( was running late to the party). The next day I noticed that it was starting to chip and some nails were very sloppy. When I went back they were nice about redoing only the nails that were chipped but then the next day they cracked! I have been here on 5 separate occasions, once for a pedi and then for a full set with gel polish and subsequent fill-ins. Every time I have been with my mother. One experience aside, when Kimmy did a wonderful job on a fill-in, both my mother and I have had TERRIBLE experiences. Rude, unfriendly and not helpful staff, rushed service with little attention to detail and a lot of cutting corners. This is some of what we have encountered. 1) No attention to the cuticle, whatsoever. 2) Nail tech spent entire visit having a phone conversation on her Bluetooth in Vietnamese. 3) Nail edges were jagged and unfiled. Some nails filed at a slant uneven with nail bed and fingertips. 4) No base coat was applied. 5) White tips started to turn GRAYISH BROWN after only a week. Came in to show the nail tech and my mother was told, "Sometimes this happens with white tips. Just get a solid color." Excuse me? No. 6) Came in for a repair on a nail that was applied in a concave shape and was treated extremely rudely. The tech didn't speak to me and spent the entire time roughly handing my nails and complaining about me in Vietnamese. 7) Powder wasn't brushed off before polish application, so there were bumps and pits and the polish lifted after a week. I understand being busy, but you are providing a service. You are NOT doing your customers a favor! They keep you in business! Treat them as such. We will be giving our service to Vivi in Southgate from now on, unless Kimmy is working. read more

The WORST. I'm new to town and was looking for a regular nail place, so I went to get my acrylics filled. She never asked me if I wanted them cut down, criticized my color choice, and then sat me with them to dry for 15 minutes while she facetimed on her ipad. Eventually I asked if I was good to go and she looked up like she had forgotten about me and waved me off. The polish wore off after 3 days. Went in today for a pedicure and full set, man doing pedicure was very friendly but very rough when cutting nails, I repeatedly said "ouch" and told him he was hurting me then left my big left toe nail half way cut and completely unfinished looking. Nail Garden's service and atmosphere is definitely the WORST now compared to over 5 years ago. I go to many nail salons but came here due to mine being closed and this was the filthiest, and a very unprofessionally managed nail salon with the most unprofessional nail techs. They rushed thru my pedicure because it was busy and cut my finger with a nail file drill rushing thru my manicure. The female next to me complained wanting her pedicure redone because she had three different techs working on her unprofessionally and they didn't complete the pedicure job nicely. The manager was rude and disrespectful when I explained to him privately how unhappy I was with this salon after I paid for my service and his response was "No, it's a good salon". Let me be frank. I made an appointment for 6:30pm so I was not a walk-in. I was shown to a table where the manicurist proceeded to text on her phone the entire time and kept getting up to make phone calls while in the middle of working on my nails. She was clearly in a rush to leave but was also rough and dug into my skin. She then left while my nails were drying. The waxing room should also be inspected by the Department of Health as it was completely filthy. As to the quality, the paint started chipping the next day and by Saturday turned completely yellow, so I was forced to remove it altogether. read more

Do not waste your time- First of all, I wanted a shellack on my pedicure - they did regular polish- the young man who did my pedi hurt and was a total ass! He was in a hurry and acted like he didn't even want to be there! I like to relax and get my pedi- there was no way felt very rushed. I wouldn't take my dog to get any nail services there- the place was filthy and needs to have the state come to check them out- at the end of it all- my experience truly sucked! I've seen this salon evolve over the year and they do try and invest in a better experience visually and with their service areas. However, my main issues with this salon are: 1) old nail polish on the shelves, 2) dirty manicure stations (they don't hold their techs to a high standard of cleanliness), 3) a male tech that has dirty hands/nails and use them to remove nail polish on clients and 4) their inability to communicate clearly the basics. Have had issues with this place in the past. Last time they cut my finger good while filing. I decided to give them another chance today, for my birthday, and am very disappointed. Went in and showed the lady what I wanted, she straight up told me that she can't do it. I've had this exact design done at this location before, keep in mind. Well the whole time I'm getting my nails done the lady was just being rude. Got a basic acrylic French manicure set, which says $25, and was charged $30 for something I didn't want. I had a gift certificate for Nail Garden in Brownstown. Had a manicure and a pedicure done. The nail tech did a descent job. I gave her a 20% tip. She didn't acknowledge in any way.
