For my last visit, I wanted white tips with dip powder, and the manicurist I had didn't feel comfortable hand painting the white lines on at the end and had someone else help. NextDoor posted a fabulous shout out to K Salon (on Simmons Street in the Old Village in Mt. Pleasant). My interest was piqued. I checked out the business on Yelp and Google ... all positive ... and went on to Facebook. I liked Kelly's FB presence and her Covid-19 protocol. This operation would be a different experience for me. Kelly rents a room in a small, rather old fashioned hair salon. I liked this. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. The technician who did my manicure seemed rushed from the start. My cuticles were trimmed so aggressively that they were bleeding, and the polish application was sloppy. When she finished, she immediately got up and walked to the back and never returned. I was left sitting there and had to pick up my jacket and purse and carry them myself to the drying table. In the process, I smudged a couple of nails. I tried to find the technician to fix them but couldn't locate her. At that point, I just wanted to leave. It's disappointing because the salon clearly has talented staff, but the inconsistency in service really took away from what should have been a pleasant visit. I hope management addresses this so all clients receive the same level of care.
