Had a great experience with Nail It Roofing. After storm damage in Jan 2023, I called many roofers for estimates and due to widespread damage, many did not even answer their phones, and most went to immediately to voice mail. But Nail It Roofing did answer in person and within a week or so, Aaron Meyer came out to Folsom to inspect, advise, and give an estimate on our damaged roof. I needed gutter and downspout replacement, roof tiles, soffit and plywood replaced. Nail It does all those things, so I got one estimate for all. Aaron was upfront about his work load due to the storm(s) and due to our relatively minor damage (no water was leaking into our house), he told us it would take 6 weeks or so to get a crew out to fix it. Our roof was tarped and many of our nearby neighbors had much more damage than we did and even they had to wait weeks/months to get repairs. I asked Aaron if I could paint the replacement soffit and plywood before they installed it and he said his crew would drop off the wood a day or two before the repair so I could paint it. True to his word, as they called me with the approximate day for the repair (between storms and rain), his guys dropped off the wood and I painted it prior to the install. The work was completed in about half a day and his crew was well prepared and efficient, they cleaned up nicely and hauled away the damaged tiles and boards and gutter. Hats off and 5 Stars to Nail It Roofing for answering their phone in person during the storms, showing up quickly for the estimate, setting up expectations for when the work would be done, dropping off the wood to be painted, and doing a great job on the roof and matching our 25-year-old tiles. They handled our small job very well when they were busy as heck and I would not hesitate to use them for any roofing related repairs or re-roofs. I wish more contractors were as professional as Nail it. Just so you know, very few of the contractors I left messages ever called me back and most of those did not repair gutters or were willing to allow me to paint the wood soffit before they installed it. Had a signed contract. Aaron wrote it up I signed it. 5 guys showed up and did a littlte more than a quarter of the work promised. Called Chris and was told that they wanted to save me money. I said that I just wanted the work done that I contracted them to do. Told Aaron hey what about the contract? That didn't make any difference to them. They charged me half. I used them because of the reviews. Never did I think that with a signed contract that they would not honor it. Took me a year to write this because I didn't want to waste my time. They sent a professional contract to cover the moss removal, roof and gutter repair with an anticipated date for the work to be completed. They arrived on the date and time promised and worked through the hot summer day. After they left I noticed a small area where the moss was still present. I contacted Brittany in the morning and she had a crew at my house in 15 minutes. Though the moss removal and gutter cleaning is a dusty dirty job they were diligent to clean up. Nail It stuck with their estimate on a high pitched roof with many skylight replacements and coordinated well with the other vendors. The office staff touched base often and kept me apprised of what was going on. There were delays in getting skylight parts (not their fault), and the staff followed up with the job even after Nail It's contract had been completed. I am very grateful that they left extremely little debris around the house and yard. I picked them after speaking with two previous customers (one commercial and one residential) who both emphasized the care Nail It took to clean up after themselves. Removing the old skylights rained debris in my kitchen. The site manager came in with a broom and dust pan, wiped down my counters, and then asked me if it was cleaned to my satisfaction. We recently had our roof re-done by Nail It, and were very pleased with the whole process. Aaron came out to do a quote for us, thoroughly checked things out, made sure to answer my questions, and sent us a quote in a few days. There was no pressure or sales pitch. We got quotes from two other companies, and Nail It was both cheaper and more pleasant to work with than the others. It took about 2 months after the initial quote (in the summer though, busy season) to start our roof job. Our house is NOT easy. The street is an old, narrow street in Placerville with a steep hill, the roof itself is quite steep, it had three layers to tear off, etc. The guys made the best of it and made it work. On day one, they discovered that our old swamp cooler had been improperly serviced and was leaking a bunch of water. They fixed that up for us, and had no problem when we decided to just tear it off and add that to the job. There was some very minor damage to our upstairs sheet rock from the tear off crew, and the office worked with me incredibly to get a person out to fix it quickly. Communication during the whole job was fantastic. If I had to do a roof again (which I pray I do not in my lifetime), I would use Nail It. read more

All positives: I had my roof completed 2 years ago in September. These guys are pros & run a nice family business. The pricing was really reasonable too. We liked that they worked with us, and we did a lot of the dry rot ourselves. They gave us tips, which really helped the process. They cleaned up after they did the roof install, and the roof looks amazing. It's held up beautifully through the last 2 years of storms, so I couldn't be any happier. Also, they completed the tear-off and new roof install in a very timely manner. There was no lag in time. The product & everything & everybody arrived on time too. I contacted Nail It Roofing to give me an estimate on a leaking skylight. It was old but unbroken. I was told that the skylight had been improperly installed and needed to be replaced. And that they no longer made skylights of this size so there would be structural changes that would drive up the cost of the job. I was expecting to pay $500 to repair this leak. Their estimate was $5000 and maybe more depending of how much the roof would need re-engineering. The representative said he would look into a few other possibilities and get back to me. I waited a week and he never did. I had the work done two weeks later. The sheet metal was replaced that seals the skylight for $600. No more leaks. My experience with contractors is this: Many of them will over estimate a job on purpose. And only a few people will turn them down because they don't know what's needed. Why make $500 when you can get $5000? This happens often with older people. I'm 62 years old so I guess they thought I was an easy mark. Is it legal? I guess, but it's not ethical. Always get more than one estimate and ask them what they charge per hour or how the long the job will take. If they tell you $5000 and it will take an afternoon, you are paying them over a thousand dollars an hour! I expect to pay between $50 to $80 an hour. If they want more then I call someone else. And if you've had work done by them, figure out what you paid them per hour before you criticize my review. read more

We live in Serrano in El Dorado Hills and we've seen many roofing companies service homes in our neighborhood. Most of them come in and do a quick blow off of roofs and gutters (and make a mess of yards and neighbors yards) and then move on. Nail-It came in and first cleaned out the gutters by scooping out debris (as opposed to blowing) and then flushed the downspouts to make sure they were clear. We were concerned that there would be debris in our yard and more importantly on our patio furniture and plants. But there was none... and we had gutters full of debris and several clogged downspouts. During the process, they identified ~7 cracked/broken tiles. Our home was built in 2008 and these tiles were no longer available, but Nail-It Roofing found some from a supplier that specializes in obsolete roofing materials and installed them on that very same day. While they were packing up and leaving at the end of the day, one of our neighbors asked them if they could take a look at a problem with her gutter. Chris and Mario took a quick look and fixed it on the spot. It probably took them only 10 minutes and we were impressed that they took that small amount of time to absolutely make her day. Aaron, Chris and the crew are amazing! I have an older home and had a tar/gravel roof with a pretty low slope. Over a year ago, I had several estimates and got a few more this past Fall including one from Nail It. Aaron showed up when he said he would and was so easy to talk to, but his estimate was a little more than others. I was leaning toward another, but felt better about how Aaron explained the process, product, etc that I called him several times to ask about items on another estimate vs. his and he took time (with several calls/emails) to make me feel comfortable with it and he's honest. The "other guy" did not. I went with my gut and hired Nail It and have been extremely happy with my choice. Once hired, he let me know to take things off the walls/shelves that could fall (I wouldn't have thought of this) and everyone working with him was prompt, professional, honest and friendly and they kept the area clean. Tried to have this company do a roof repair for us. They came out, were very pleasant and promised to get back to me with an estimate. Waited several days and then they responded they couldn't do the job - period. No estimate. Nothing. All roofers were slammed at the time so I waited several months and tried again. The initial person I spoke with was very nice and professional and didn't see a problem they were about 4 weeks out on jobs. This was not a problem for us. Then she checked with the owner to find out why they didn't give an estimate the last time. She came back and said the owner indicated they didn't have the manpower to do our job and I should try the yellow pages. I was never rude to anyone in this company and our job was not huge. I asked why, was there something odd about our job. There was no further explanation. Aaron and his wife were very communicative and professional. They worked with us on the tile choice, arrived when they said they would or called in advance to explain a minor delay. Really great. I had cement tile fall off my roof in september. I messaged at least 15 roofing companies they never got back to me because it was a relatively small job. Nail-it responded and fixed it promptly before the rains started. Then in December I had a water leak in a different area and water dripping into my living room. Aaron came out the next day and went up the ladder on a very rainy day to check for the problem. The next day was the only day of the week it wasnt raining and Chris came out and fixed it.
