I've been seen by Paul, Kevin, Tina (the owner) and several others. Not once have I had an issue. I work a lot and am constantly busy so I don't always have time to get a fill every two weeks. I'm not gentle and I'm accident prone but these babies stay on for 3+ weeks no issue. From what I've seen, most people who write bad reviews wait until they go home to say something about their nails. If you have an issue with shape or color or anything else it can easily be fixed by telling the nail tech DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT. Each one of them asks if the shape is okay or if you like them as they work on your nails so that's your opportunity to speak up. Really disappointed because everyone was kind, but the actual service was not good. The owner did my nails and they looked nothing like the reference photo I showed. I voiced multiple times that the color was way too dark and was told it would lighten -- it didn't. The appointment also felt rushed to move through customers. My cuticles were cut to the point of bleeding, the corners weren't filed properly, and parts of the nails are stuck against the skin. I even skipped the nail art I originally wanted because the base color already looked so off. From far away they look okay, but up close the quality just isn't there. It's a clean salon and the staff is very friendly. There's a pretty cool scrub and lotion bar where you select your favorite scents. My complaint is that the manicure was done dry, I've never experienced that before. Seems weird. Not very thorough, I walked away with thick cuticles and uneven edges. read more

I had a really disturbing experience with Nail Poetry. My best friend had an appointment scheduled and called ahead just to ask about acrylic pricing. The woman who answered was extremely rude from the start. It was hard to understand her, so we politely repeated ourselves--but instead of helping, she got frustrated and escalated things. During the call, she used the highly offensive f slur toward my friend, then hung up. When we tried calling back from another number (since she wouldn't answer the first), she picked up and immediately responded with another F slur before we even said anything. At that point, we hung up. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Based on this experience, I would strongly warn others to avoid this place. No one should be treated like that just for asking a simple question. read more

I was in here a few months ago and it was the worst service ever. A guy did my fill, he talked my ear off but I feel like it was to distract me from the bad job he did. My nails were done so sloppy and thick. I asked the owner to fix them and she said she had too many appts, she was rude to me in front of clients. I had to go to another salon to have them fixed for another $40 plus tip. The pedicure was done by an older woman who told me she doesn't even work there I guess she was filling in. ***WARNING.*** The photos are how i literally walked out of the salon. First time coming in and I was excited because it was around the corner from my work and it was lovely in there. Unfortunately I left so so UNHAPPY. Paul was really nice , made small talk but he does your nails so quick he gets nail polish on your skin and doesn't wipe it as you can see in the attached photos, he also hardly cut off any of my cuticles. I got a gel mani and gel pedi single color nothing fancy. My pedicure was horrible also the women doing them; I felt like she hardly cut any of my cuticles off as well and the massage had no effort whatsoever. I was so disappointed. Not a thorough experience at all. I had a manicure and pedicure. My pedicure was so fast, didn't even clean under the toenail. No cleaning of skin around the toe. She scrubbed my heal, no joke, three strokes for each heal. Manicure was the same. Not a complete manicure by any I've ever had. Needless to say, I will not be coming back. read more

Came to this salon to get a simple black acrylic full set. I wanted red bottoms. The nail tech (owner) did a sloppy job. The black came on the red bottoms, but that's not my complaint. I felt disappointed for the price for a basic short acrylic nail. I was charged $78 which seemed ridiculous, so my sister didn't tip because she paid for the nails. It also chipped after only a few days & then finally broke off. The nails look like shit but I'm stuck with em until I get a fill. I'll go back to my regular salon. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Unbelievable service! I got in with same day appointment. I got a full set for $55. Paul was my nail technician and he was amazing! He gave me exactly what I wanted but even better. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This salon gave me a fungal infection (athlete's foot). I've been going here off and on for years out of convenience. They do not actually take down appointments, so don't bothering calling. One time I was left in the manicure chair for over thirty minutes while the tech was MID PAINTING my gel nails in order to help the walk ins who said they called earlier in the day for an appointment. They finished their entire acrylic set before returning to me. I am a patient person, but this was SO rude and unprofessional. They're always in a rush, and have ruined my gel nails before. I overlooked the situation, and went back to give them a chance one more time. HUGE MISTAKE. A day after, I noticed red blisters on my toes which developed into a SEVERE fungal infection. I needed oral antibiotics. It is absolutely obvious from the fact I do not use a gym, swimming pool, or walk around barefoot anywhere that they DO NOT use clean pedicure tools. I debated writing this review because 1. I've never left anything on Yelp before and 2. I can see the owner in the comments acting unprofessional with zero accountability for her business. Absolutely terrible customer service and accountability for any mistake they make. Paid 85+tip for a full set that was simple & poorly done/cuts from filling and the acrylic started coming off the same night & continued at the wedding I was attending til I was left with only 2 nails. I immediately came back to see if they could fix them the very NEXT DAY but was bashed by the owner Tina & the other workers. It was to the point I was so uncomfortable & shocked. This was all while I was 6 months pregnant. I asked for a simple refund or at least half since I felt that way and she proceeded to call me names & even threatened me. Horrible salon and way overpriced for sloppy work, I've been getting my nails down since I was 16 now 25 and by far the worst experience ever. I've been going here on and off for several years, and every time I go it's rushed, expensive, and I have to fix it when I get home. This time, a friend and I both got dipped nails and in less than a week later they're both chipped and look awful. So disappointed in our experience! We went for my daughters birthday today and they double booked us with another woman and her mother. They rushed through my daughters appt while i waited to get my nails done. This lady and her mother come in and bullied her way into getting her nail fixed. I couldn't let my daughter wait another 15 minutes on top of me getting my nails done so I wasn't taken care of. Her experience was rushed just for this lady to get her nails fixed. I tried to say, "no this is our birthday appt" but the nail tech took the lady without considering us and our booked appt. Don't go here if you want a nice experience they don't care about anything but your money. Your response says so much about how you treat your customers. We moved our appt time twice for today and we were told that we were welcomed and everything was fine post schedule change. If you didn't have time why wouldn't you schedule for another day instead of rushing us? leaving your nail tech alone to handle three people plus the women you scheduled 30 mins after us?? I have brought a ton of people in to see you and some still get their nails done and half have stopped from their lack of positive experiences. If you cared about your customers experiences you wouldn't cram us into time slots with one nail tech. You also wouldn't respond the way you did when issues arise. First time coming to this nail salon because a friend recommended to me. You can say this place wasn't a disappointment to me! Love how my nails turned out and it's exactly how I wanted it to look like. I wish I got his name, but he did a great job. My friend recommended Paul to do my nails but I totally forgot to ask, but the other man did amazing. A couple of the workers were inviting, some of them weren't but that didn't really bother me. The only downside that I wasn't so happy about was when he was filing the sides and taking off the excess acrylic and hurt so much it wasn't as gentle as I thought it would be lol. But I sucked it up and got over it cus if he didn't do that I would've had acrylic on the sides of my nails which would've made me upset. Then when calling to make appointments with Paul I get a woman named Tina that was mean and rude I walked in one day and she was not even going to let me wait saying that they had no time to see me everyone was fully booked I waited anyway and Paul was able to do my nails because his client did not show up she would've lost money she doesn't care about customer service at all. They boast a hot rock massage but all she did was quickly run two hot rocks over my shins for about 30 seconds. Didn't even touch my feet for any massage. And all this for $35. Nope. Overpriced, the owner has her daughters work on nails and one of them is very inexperienced, so she does a terrible job and they still charge a huge amount of money for nails you can probably do yourself. I can see why there are some unhappy customers. When I called to make an appointment, the lady wasn't extremely rude but I wish she would've been a little bit nicer. She still answered my questions, which I appreciated. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a man who wasn't the most polite but I didn't really mind it too much. He seated me and Paul came out to start my nails. The seats were a little dirty. Paul did an AMAZING job even though my nail design was a little difficult. I feel like if you're nice and polite to them, they'll be nice and polite back because after conversing with both gentlemen, they were very cool. I'm so happy with my nails and I'm so glad Paul put so much thought into them. They're not perfect but they're close enough. I wish they sanitized better as it looks a little dirty but overall I'm pretty pleased. read more

I was really hesitant to even write a review after seeing the owner lash out at people posting bad reviews, but considering that the woman doing my nails made 3 of them bleed by being to aggressive with the nail file when I have super short and thin nails, and she didn't even do the acrylics which is what I went for. I wish I wrote this review sooner, instead of several months late, but going back to school and life got in the way (Now it's summer, so I had time to write this long review). If you want quality for your money, do NOT go here as per my experience, as they cannot even do basic short 1-color acrylic coffin nails well (which is exactly what I asked for). I don't recall the person's name who did my nails, but it was a male who was rough and overly rushed. Not only did he put 3 nails on slightly crooked, but the paint was BUBBLY on the edges, as well. When it came to pay at the counter, he said the cost was $50, but when I put $15 on the counter, he impatiently took it before I got the remaining $35 out of my wallet. My friend distracted me when I was getting my cash out, and so when I saw the $15 gone off of the counter I thought I was tripping and must have imagined already having put some cash down, and so I proceeded to put more than $35 down,- I put $50. This means that I paid $65 in total for terribly done nails, when I meant to only give $50. He must have thought that I meant to tip him when my friend distracted me, but it's annoying and rude that he didn't wait until I was done counting money out for him, before he took the cash. When I got home, I was so irritated with myself for not speaking up and being more confrontational about the quality of the nails and the money issue. It also wasn't just me who thought the nails looked poorly done,- my friend and a few coworkers commented on the nails' issues when I showed them at work. After being upset for about 2 days, I called up Nail Poetry and asked them if I could come in for them to fix the issue, free of charge, and I genuinely regret bothering with it. Basically, instead of the man redoing the nails that he put on crooked, he decided to sand/file down the edges of the crooked nails (which made them narrower) in order give the "perception" that they were on straighter! This made them look more terrible, because then not only were they rough, but it literally looked as if my nails had been dragged on CONCRETE. They looked even more terrible than before I came in for corrections, and so it's comical that he had the audacity to try to push me out of the salon to start serving a new customer who walked in, even though he clearly didn't fix my nails. I was very annoyed, and I made him try to fix what he further messed up, and so he basically just put clear gel lacquer on the edges and on top of the nails,- which made the dried clear gel look too thick and wonky (but hey, still better than nails that look like they were dragged on concrete lol). WORST $65 I've ever spent, and you'd be foolish to go here unless you want to give your money to businesses that rush and don't care about their quality of work. Every single time I think of this nail place, I feel VERY irritated. Hence, this is why I'm writing this review, in order to warn other customers. Even if Nail Poetry saw this review and offered to do my nails for free, I probably would NOT take them up on their offer. The quality of their work and service is shameful, and I'm just blessed that I didn't come down with an infection despite the nails sucking. If Nail Poetry cannot even make a genuine effort to correct their mistakes (such as when I came in for a free correction) and ensure their art quality, I wouldn't be surprised if they slacked on tool hygiene standards, as well. Do NOT come here unless you want poor quality work. I wish I still had the photos on my phone, but my phone crashed and lost data that was on my device. Very annoying! read more

The lady she's training isn't doing a good job on my nails - I'm being polite she doesn't know much English so I'm not able to tell her to fix anything.... Sooo with this lack of communication I assume as an owner of a business you'd be fine to help her understand what services I want as a paying customer. Then she told me she was going to charge me for the gel I had her employee remove (cuz it looked awful) so now I'm pissed wishing I just walked out as soon as she said that. I've been coming to Nail Poetry for years for mostly pedicures and the occasional manicure. I'm always treated very respectfully and given good service. I love the time they take giving the foot massage! I sometimes take my husband with me to get his feet done and he almost falls asleep he's so relaxed! I never make appointments, I just walk in. Even if they are busy, they let me sit in a chair and soak my feet while I wait. I also love that I can support a local Asian owned business. read more
