This nail salon is convenient- so I've gone too many times but no more. The manager - who sits at the cashier - yells on the phone while customers wait to check in or out - is almost comically rude to staff and customers. Truly - she's so bad there are times I thought she must be kidding. I asked for a pedicure and manicure - and she'll have the staff member pulled to another customer. She's rude to staff - and unbearably unprofessional with no customer service!! Waking down Orange Avenue you'll come across multiple nail salons. This one appealed to everyone; it's open, clean, AND it has a wine bar! I like their digital process to check in, it helps them to keep track of the line of people waiting for various services. If you have more than one person in your party, each of you will have to check in. We started off with the kids mani-pedi, but not too long after the start my daughter wasn't pleased with the lady. She was a little brash with my 4yo, which scared her. We just stopped the service and she sat with us in the chair. They did a great job rubbing, scrubbing and buffing my husbands tired feet - that's a big bonus! As he was getting a nice foot rub, I was getting buffed and polished! I had two people working on me and I liked that! It's really nice to sit in the chair, get the chair rub and have a nice mani pedi! Overall it's a little more expensive than some of the other places, but it was a good experience. The wine service is an additional $8. So rude! check in person is a nightmare and some technicians are also not pleasant to say the least. Why would technician turn off the massage chair if only removing nail polish? Or if I decide to just suck it up and have the massage chair off she yaks the hand.... Good place to go... if you're WHITE. Several white women came in after I did, and all of them were served before me. NONE of them had appointments. A very fair-skinned woman with bleached blonde hair came 30 minutes after I did, and she was served first. I thought that she may have had an appointment or perhaps she was going to get a more expensive service, which is why they began HER pedicure first. Nope. She was getting the exact same service as me (without an appointment), but I lacked a white privilege card and got served wayyyy after she did. I've had plenty of pedicures over the years, and this one was only memorable due to the sheer racism and discrimination I experienced. I used to live in Coronado, but I moved for college last fall. I got a pedicure for both myself and my boyfriend at the time before I moved off of the island, and I don't remember the service being too bad here. Looks like things have changed... Anyway, I drove several hours to come on the island and get a pedicure before visiting friends here. The pedicure itself was among the worst I have ever gotten. They did not shape my nails, and the paint was very messy. They also didn't scrub my feet thoroughly. As far as price, this location's services are a few dollars higher than the typical rates at other salons. Not worth it for shitty service and discrimination. If you are white, this place will be perfect for you! If you aren't, save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I've been getting my nails done every two weeks since I can remember (which I specially put away money every week to afford it) been to a million different salons but this was by FAR the WORST experience I've ever had and it hasn't been the first at this establishment. I had gone in the get a manicure and the color wasn't even close, it was crazy chunky, and overall just looked absolutely ridiculous. I usually bite my tongue when my nails are a little off because I don't like making a fuss but these were too awful and I don't have money growing on trees. The owner bullied me in-front of the entire salon till I was near crying because I asked for them to be taken off. I never came again until recently. I only got my toes done because I was too scared to get my nails done until today and the same thing happened. The owner scolded me in front of the entire salon until she bullied me into paying full price and to pay to take off the nails they had messed up and still left shit on my nails after the take off I shouldn't have paid for in the first place. I know this all is relative because it was my experience alone but if your reading these reviews wondering if you want to go to this salon or another.. This place is sneaky and cheap. First they regularly overcharge me. The manager will put in the computer what i owe, then type away at an old calculator and then show you an amount, which has been for the last three times I've been more than what I actually owed. When i point out she's wrong, she doesn't even say sorry, she just gets huffy. God she's a real piece of work, like so many other people have said. Second, they make you pay a fee for using a credit card and they won't let you tip the nail techs on the credit card. You have to have cash to do that and who still carries cash regularly?! Lastly, she is never honest about how long the wait is. She will put you in a chair, tell you your next and you might wait an hour. No joke. If you ask how many people are ahead of you or how much longer, she'll just say something like "soon, soon." If there's wait, just say how long so people can decide if they have the time or not, you know? I've walked out after sitting in a chair for 45 minutes waiting on service just because I know I need to get my kids at a certain time and couldn't get a straight answer from her. Getting your nails done should be relaxing, but it never is at this place. It's exhausting and stressful. read more

I came by the salon on Saturday afternoon and overall had a horrible experience. My friend, who got gel nails done on her hands got a deep cut on her thumb from an inpatient employee who was huffing and puffing the whole time she was getting her nails done. I got my toes and gel nails on my hands done. Two days after getting them done, 5 of my nails already had chips in them. I called the salon to get a refund for my gel nails, as 2 days is unheard of for gel nails. I was told that I had to come in to prove to them that they were bad. I told the woman that I live far away and was just spending the day in Coronado and that I had my nails done for a wedding tomorrow and will not be able to come in and asked if I can send photos. She kept repeating that I had to come in again even though I repeated multiple times that I live far away. I now have to pay money to go to a salon near my house to get them fixed before tomorrow. Masks are mandatory and both customers and staff adhere to this requirement. Prices are listed at the front and throughout the salon. Massage chairs are leather, with side tables, and multiple massage options. Hands down the premium pedicure is AMAZING. Sugar scrub, peppermint mask, paraffin treatment, and hot stone massage are well worth the expense. Prices are consistent with the service, products, time, location, and ambiance. If all you do is get a pedicure the hot stone and paraffin are a MUST. Service is exceptional HIGHLY recommend JENNY. She takes her time and is extremely detailed with her work. There is a $1 fee for using a debit or credit card. Tips are cash only. That being said no fee ATMs are located in the shop. Minus one star for having to air dry our nail polish. Today I cheated on my normal nail salon because it's my birthday and I was driving by. This was my second time at this salon and I wish I would have told the lady at the front to "remember my face because she'll never see it again." I opted for whatever the $36 pedicure is that rings up at $38 due to a service charge. I understand service charges, but what I don't understand is when a place is charging a fee yet won't give you the option to tip via card. The pedicure was OK, but felt rushed. The girl who worked on my feet was VERY nice, but it was definitely not the best I've ever had. Last time I came here I wrote a review, but deleted it because the owner called and asked me to give them a second chance. I deleted my review just because I thought that was a thoughtful gesture. After my interaction with the lady at the front, Holly, I most definitely won't be back. Holly sat there with her headphones plugged in and her hand out looking for payment. She swiped the card without telling me how much it was then refused to let me tip on the card. I replied that they should tell people its cash only tip upon arrival in which she snapped "everyone knows! It's always been this way since we opened" um what? Clearly I didn't?
