I've been going to Nail Trends for over 6 1/2 years, and it's hands-down my favorite nail salon on Staples Mill Road! The staff is friendly, welcoming, and treats you like family. The owners are so accommodating and have truly become a staple in the community. My go to nail artist is Mia and let me tell you, she's phenomenal! I'm generally a minimalist when it comes to my nails, but every now and then I like to add a little pizazz for holidays or special events, and Mia always delivers. She takes her time, pays impeccable attention to detail, and makes sure everything is perfect. I leave every appointment relaxed, refreshed, and completely satisfied. Since my natural nails are already long and fast-growing, I usually stick to dip or gel. Mia is amazing with recommendations and has a remarkable memory when it comes to her clients' preferences. We found our new nail salon! We've just moved to the area and tried a couple of different places closer to home, but didn't love our experience. Nail Trends is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, they brought us mocktails and asked our names and gave us wonderful service! Accommodated any requests (warmer water, shorter nails) with no problem. Please be careful who does your feet and nails. Horrible experience . The new lady who does mani-pedi cut my big toe, threw the towels on my legs and allow the hot stones to cool down before trying to use them. I paid for hot stone treatment which I didn't receive.Not happy after spending $188 for services yesterday. Not sure if I will return read more

I have been going to this salon since it's opening! The owners are very welcoming!The staff are very professional and talented. There is NEVER a time after I receive services that someone doesn't ask me "hey who did your nails?" Or "hey! Who does your lashes " the salon is always clean and relaxing. I visited this salon with two girlfriends, one of which frequently patronizes this salon. I got one of the premium pedicures with regular polish which ran about $65. The pedicure was pretty basic for that high of a price point, the only thing that somewhat differed from a basic pedi I have received at other Salons is the leg exfoliation. I would knock it off as salon location making it more expensive, but most Short Pump salons I have visited run cheaper...and this was no Short Pump. The selection of regular polish was quite expansive and conveniently displayed in a booklet instead of shifting through a polish wall. I will say the pedicure lasted me much shorter (~1.5 weeks) than one I do at home, making me question whether I saw a clear top coat applied. My feet also still had rough patches and dead skin after. The people were very nice inside & the interior was clean which I appreciated! Make sure to bring cash or venmo at the appointment to avoid a credit card fee! read more

So let me start off by saying that I'm a nail biter, and I came in with the worst nails I have ever had. Tam did an amazing job and put on tips and did the dip polish to make my hands look fantastic. On Friday of last week I went to Nail Trends for a gel manicure and a pedicure. After my nails were prepared before polishing, the nail tech told me to wash my hands without soap. I thought that was odd because I have had many gel manicures and never put water on my nails before polishing. Needless to say, the polish had popped off one of my nails before I got home and continued through the week. Went in the following Friday for repair that was a waste of my time. Gel manicures usually last 3 weeks and this one did not last one week. Thought I had found a salon closer to my home, but will not be going there again. I work to hard to waste my money. read more

This place was nothing short of disappointing. The nail techs tend to pay more attention to their phones than to the actual customer their working with. The lady working on my nails couldn't seem to take a break from her phone, and would continue to file/drill my nails while looking down at her phone-- super unprofessional and not to mention dangerous. I came in for a fill in and nail repair, however, she seemed very rushed, as she didn't even take the time to fully take off my broken acrylic nail, and instead proceeded to adding an acrylic nail over it.... talk about messy. I understand the need to get things done quickly and efficiently but the place was pretty dead when I was there. My family and I have been coming here for years, but after today, we won't be back. Save your money and go else where. read more

Sad they didn't offer me wine but I look like I'm 15 so I guess that's fine. I got acrylic nails (coffin shaped) and mood color-changing gel polish. My technician took the time to make sure each nail was shaped correctly and to the length I wanted. My nails have never looked so perfect and I'm from Atlanta so the price was super affordable! I would come back to this place in a heartbeat. Tip: Mood color-changing gel polish will generally turn ombre since your nail beds are warmer than the tips of your nails. In air conditioning, they might be more prominently the "cooler" color, while out in the heat they'll probably stay completely the "warmer" color. read more

I arrived right at opening and was the first to sign in. They had me sit in the aluminum foil to remove my previous nails for over thirty minutes, while everyone who came in after me were able to get fully serviced and leave (like at least ten people). The woman who saved me from my abandonment was very kind but had to stop frequently to answer the phones. The nails I left with are messy but at that point I just wanted to leave. Several employees thanked me for waiting for so long, but no one offered any kind of compensation. I'm not very confrontational so I said nothing except reiterating that I waited a very long time. I paid full price with tip and I am definitely not coming back read more

I've been to this place a couple of times and they are pretty good. It's actually one of the best nail shops I've been to. The staff of friendly and professional, and they all do a good job. I've only gotten pedicures here, but from what I saw they do nails pretty good too. They offer wine (not included) and have plenty of spa chairs. The last time I went, they did forget to put my top coat on for my pedicure, that's why they lost a star. I like my toes shiny, not dull. Overall, a great place and I'll most likely visit again. read more

This will be the last time! I have tried to go to this nail salon repeatedly as it is close to my job but every time I go my nails are crooked, lumpy or they crack and break within a couple of days! I have tired 4 different nail techs and still no good work! I am always satisfied with my pedicures but my nails always look bad or if they look good they crack and break within a couple of days. When I go back to get a cracked nail replaced they do it but then another 1 or 2 break after that. I have tried Dip and Acrylic nails. I have told my friends that I am not going back over and over again but this time...I mean it! I spend too much money on Pedicures and Full Sets with Gel Polish it Dip $80-100 for my nails to always look terrible or break within a couple of days! I'm sick and tired of being sick and tried! I tell the techs my nails are crooked every time they men blame me and the women say they will fix it but don't! They ask me if I like it when They are done and I say No! But they are not fixed and after 2-3 hours, I don't have time to demand they redo it! Never again!!!! There is 1 Women there her name starts with an L she does good nails but she is never available and Megan does excellent pedicures. I will have to be inconvenienced and go somewhere else smh read more

I had a great experience at Nail attends yesterday. I used to go to Nail Trends way back when (high school ~ 8+ years ago). This shop has upgraded and now has a nail bar where you can get your mani/gel mani. Yesterday, I was greeted and taken to the back for a pedi rather quickly. My pedicure was thorough and efficient. I haven't had a pedi in 6 months and I was finally able to go relax and treat myself. Visited for the first time today and had Sophia. The whole experience was enjoyable and very relaxing. I got a shellac manicure and regular pedicure! Both look great. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I had to get a whole new set and the lady who did my nails looked like she didn't know how to do it. I asked for coffin nails and I wanted them long...she left them really short and the shape isn't even coffin. Typically with coffin shape, you're supposed to cut the nails first before applying the acrylic. She applied the acrylic first and THEN decided to clip it. Please make it make sense because I'm not understanding. The shape isn't even coffin because it's too short and crooked. The lady who did my nails KNEW I wasn't happy because she kept asking me if I was ok. I don't understand how this place has good reviews. It was my first time here and it was a horrible horrible HORRIBLE experience! And to top it off, the place reeked of cigarettes. I will never come back nor will I ever recommend this place. I've been going to Nail Trends since I moved in the area, which has been about 7 years. When I moved to NY, I was looking for a place that reminded me of this stellar establishment, but the PRICES! I mean, a sister got bills to pay. I stopped by yesterday just for a regular pedicure and I loved it! My technician was the absolute sweetest and very gentle with my leg, as I've just had hip surgery and still recovering. The ambiance: It's like a magical girl's hangout spot, with nail product fumes in the atmosphere just to add balance of course. They have a bar with wine and the place is super clean and inviting. I love it. Selection: They have one of the largest selections of nail products I've seen in richmond which includes almost every OPI collection you can think of, gel polishes out the whoo ha, and I think I even saw a wall full of dip powders. I'm sure if there is anything you want, Nail Trends has it. And you don't have to give up your first born child in order to pay for it. Super affordable. Two thumbs up! read more

Hi could not be happier that I found this place. I am in town for the Thanksgiving holiday and badly needed my nails done. I wanted a place that did the dip process, as it is much easier on my nails than regular fills. It was pricey or than normal, $40 but Tommy did a superb job. I visited on a limited time schedule and the staff stepped up and got me soaking right away! I am very happy with the results and the cleanliness of the salon. The salon is very clean and all the staff are incredibly friendly! They also offer a complimentary beverage (water, juice, wine and other alcohol options)! I think I've finally found my go-to spot! Would 100% recommend!

Told them about what they said over the phone and they tried justifying that by saying "we thought you said, your name 1 big toe for $60 this lady must be high on nail polish. ‍ there's no other explanation for it... bad business and they just lost a customer who would have gotten her nails done twice a month.
