I went to bring my girlfriend to do her nails and we called in before so to check on pricing and how everything works at this location (new to Va) price ended up being $60 for toes but when we got there they went to to back together talked then came and told us $100 for just her toes. Told them about what they said over the phone and they tried justifying that by saying "we thought you said, your name 1 big toe for $60 this lady must be high on nail polish. ‍ there's no other explanation for it... bad business and they just lost a customer who would have gotten her nails done twice a month. read more

I always feel guilty for asking my nails be done certain ways, but in all honesty it was really what I wanted. I will be moving to the area soon and I'm looking for a new nail salon. I chose Sophia Nails because they have such high reviews. I made a 630 appointment showed up on time however once I arrived I felt extremely rushed. The woman at the front door instructed me to go over to the wall and pick out a color but she seemed irritated with how long it was taking. She told me to sit down so they could just start but I didn't know what I even wanted done. When I asked for a price list that seemed to bother her more. As I was taking my shoes off another women brought over the price list and threw it in the chair. I thought maybe she was just trying to get it to me with out coming to close but when I handed it back to her she threw it to another chair. The 1st women then brought a basket of colors for me to look at and decided she would stand beside me and stare directly at me while I picked. It made me extremely uncomfortable. I'm assuming she wanted me to hurry like when I was looking at the wall. At this point I was over it and just wanted to leave but they had already started. I was told she had to do my nails at the same time as my feet which I thought would be great I could leave sooner. While doing my left hand was fine she wanted me to reach over my body so she could do my right. I held the position as long as I could then asked would she mind just coming to the other side because it was uncomfortable. She huffed and walked around the chair mad and pulled my hand. At this point I closed my eyes and just waited for the process to be over. The best part about the whole experience was the massage chair. So if you're not careful, you'll miss this space! It's directly beside the I was in desperate need of a mani and pedi today and decided to try somewhere different. I normally go to Nails 4 U but my past few experiences haven't been pleasant. I pulled up and even though I was a walk in, I was immediately placed in the pedicure chair and helped! The water was a little cold but it's okay. There's more things in life to be mad about. Anywho, the reason why I had to give it 3 Stars is my nail tech didn't use any new/sanitized tools. Amazing service, the owner Sophia is so so nice. CLEANEST PLACE I've been to thus far. They use liners in foot tubs for pedicures which they dispose of after each person uses the chair, AND THEY STILL CLEAN IN BETWEEN. The tools are pre-packaged and opened in front of you so you know they're new to each person. Very well ventilated, it doesn't overwhelm you with a chemical smell. I've been going to Sophia's ever since she opened. They are by far the best in the area and priced fairly. Sophia does awesome designs and is very creative. You get what you pay for. For a $50 full set, they do not cut your cuticles or sanitize the tools. My friend said the lady who did the pedicure is very nice, but the man who done my nails are very impatient and has an attitude. He filed my nails like it's made of metal. Honestly, this was not my first choice of places to go only because I'd never been here before. The other place I attempted to go was closed so I decided to give Sophia Nails a try. Well I'm glad I did. It was a day that they didn't have a lot of workers, only 2 people were working, the owner and one other lady because the owner had let her employees take off after the holiday. That's says a lot to me. What really impressed me was that the owner did not rush thru to get people done quicker, she took time and care with each person and the customers that came in waited patiently. She didn't try to overload her books either, a young lady came in and wanted her and her moms nails done and she let her know honestly that she didn't have all her staff and would it be ok if she could come back tomorrow and the girl thankfully agreed. I got a mani/pedi and ended up talking to another customer and Sophia as she did my nails, I really enjoyed my experience here and my nails look great. I will definitely return! read more

Let me start by saying the customer service was A-1! I was offered water, candy, told to let my tech know if I'm uncomfortable or in pain multiple times... Which I appreciated. I got a pedi which was amazing! Only bad thing was it didn't last long enough lol. I also got a full set, which is where the problem comes in. I got coffin shape, but the shape of my nails aren't even . I got them done a few days ago and keep looking at them disappointed. The shape is inconsistent and the polish is streaky.
