I love coming here because it's quiet and peaceful - no loud music or tvs on. 100s of people aren't coming in and out because services are by appointment only. Bao always has the best and most up to date colors or techniques for your nails and if you're stuck on what to do, she has ideas. Very reasonably priced. Two years ago I moved from livonia to hazel Park. I am obscenely picky about the way my nails look. So, I drive every two weeks to the nail salon I've been going to for the last decade, in garden city. Finally I say to myself, this is ridiculous, find somewhere closer to home. So I ask everyone from around here where I should go to get my nails done. Every single person says "nails by bao". So I call them abd say, "when could I come in for a full set?" She says, "not this week, next week" WHAT? Two weeks? Yikes!!! Then she says, what about tomorrow? (I think she could hear my shocked expression). I say, yes please. I decide in the morning when I wake up that I want a pedicure as well, so I call and ask, thinking there's no way. But she says, sure. When I walk in, I'm happy already. The place immaculate. All white everything. Very sterile, but also inviting. The service was amazing. Best experience I've had at a nail salon. If I had to think of something that could be better. They use single use jets for the pedicure. I mean I love that they are thinking about the safety of the clients. But the lack of strength in the forcefulness of the bubbles was a let down. Then I wasn't offered my choice of pedicure, I got the basic one, (probably because i was the last one, and the other options would have taken longer) afterward I ask to schedule my next appointment and ask for a Saturday. Rushed job. Worst manicure of my life. They book too many people at once. Cut my cuticle and never even sanitized after!!! Instead tried to fix it with liquid styptic and nail glue! All while trying to finish my manicure while I was still bleeding. I washed my hands after the failed attempts by the tech and sprayed alcohol on the cut and applied pressure until it stopped. So I am not sure why there are several reviews "hidden" because they are great reviews and right in line with my experience. I did a walk-in on 9/2/2020 and was services right away. I have yet to find a nail spot since I am a transplant but I think I finally found it. I came for a mani with dip and pedi with gel. This was a big deal for me because this was for my wedding! My experience was wonderful. Bao and her husband are so nice. Her husband was very gentle with my feet and took his time. I was clear I was in no rush and I was able to relax. Bao applies the gel polish to my toes. Bao also did my nails. I've only had dip a few times but I can tell you Bao excels with flying colors in this area. She is QUICK with it but not sloppy which is key! Very meticulous. They way she did ombré was impressive. It has been over two weeks now and I have not experiences any chipping or lifting. My stones I had added have pretty much lasted for the most part which is amazing because I used my hands a lot during my wedding weekend and then we honeymooned in Cancun so they survived the ocean, pool, and excursions. The trick for a pedicure is to ask for Chee. Chee gave me the best pedicure I have ever had. However I went back for a second time recently and got a different person (not Bao, but a third person there) and it was the worst painting of my toes I have ever received.
