Worst experience. Went in for a pedicure with gel polish. Very rough, aggressive pedicure. Then they moved me to a chair to do the gel polish. They sat me at a manicure station and she literally sat on the floor under the desk to apply the gel polish. I went in for a full set & pedicure. Mind you i brought my 1 month old & had her in a carrier. It was obvious there would be a bit of a wait because they were pretty packed. But when it came to be "my turn" David took 3 other people before me, who arrived at least 10minutes after i did(maybe because they were in groups & he saw more money) I waited over 45 min!!! When i confronted him, he said different people do different things & that's why they were taken first. But the thing is we were all getting a basic full set, so his excuse made no sense. I use to recommend this place, but i no longer will. Making me wait longer than i should & not even trying to make it right, while Im carrying my baby the whole time. Horrible experience. I asked for coffin shape nails.. this is square. The quality of this place has gone so far downhill. I wanted a relaxing experience and they rush you from seat to seat. Didn't clean up my nails after painted.. nail polish all over my fingers. No massage. I left with more anxiety than I walked in with. I also got a pedicure, same bad experience. I asked for one more coat because I could clearly see through the polish and they said it would be extra $.. extra money to have a solid coat of nail polish smh. No thank you. The absolute worst place for a pedicure. Shop is always completely full with no where to sit and even wait for an opening. The owner rudely tells you to wait outside in the heat where there are no chairs til he opens the door and rudely ushers you in. Employees are super rude barely speaking and never finishing the job. No massage. You are rushed off to a nail dryer where they turn it on one time and don't ever bother to come back to turn it on for you again or take out the toe separators and help you put your sandals on or god forbid offer you the disposable sandals if you don't have any. You are handed a receipt without a thank you or a goodbye nothing. This has happened so many times when I have gone here, not just one time that I finally will never return. I will gladly pay more somewhere else for way better customer service and an actual enjoyable pedicure, which is supposed to be relaxing. I don't know if this place also doesn't have any air conditioning. It's always so uncomfortably hot and they do not accept credit or debit cards. You have to pay to use an ATM machine as if you're in a liquor store. read more

Not a good service or quality at all but if you need to get last minute nails done this is the place. Is crowded, loud, rushed. Been there twice and both times was not impressed. This last time I had a manicure with gel and in 2 days was chipping. I noticed they do no prep your nails at all, toes or hands. I went back to get them fix and it took 1 hour, almost closing time for someone to help me. Not even a week other nail polish/gel starts falling off on the other nails.... I thought gel last at least 2-3 wks??? I am not wasting my time to try to fix them any more. read more

I usually love coming here for pedicures but the past two times have been so rushed that i feel like I should just do my own toes at home for the same outcome. Do not seat people if you don't have the time! My tech only took about 10-15 minutes for my entire pedicure. My feet soaked for about two minutes, she barely touched my cuticles, used the pumice stone for two swipes on each foot and moved on to nail polish. Also when cutting my nails she left them un-shaped so all my toes are uniform and some are entirely diagonal. When I asked her to correct them to be straight lines she completely ignored the request. I shouldn't have to go home and fix the work of a "professional"! also not to keep trashing the business but they were dead roaches on the floor under the pedicure drying chairs and alive ones spotted crawling around. They used to be a luxury at a budget price but now you definitely get what you pay for. Bummer! read more

On Thursday I decided to treat myself and went to David Lees Nail Spa to get my nails painted with Gel polish. I was really expecting the service to be great but it was just the opposite. Used implements and poor work. I left after my service and didn't get a chance to critique my nails as I was expecting them to look great. I mean come on, how can you mess up a single color paint job? But as you can see in the pictures, I left with lumpy and uneven nails. Today, Saturday I called and spoke to David and explained to him that I'm just really unhappy with my nails that I just got done two days ago and he told me that I should've spoke up while I was there and shown him my nails then. I told him I was on my way so I can show him my nails and hopefully get them either fixed or removed. He told me no go later and then hung up. Since I was already down the street I decided to just walk in so I can at least show him how my nails are looking, which he refused to even look at. He just told me to come back later. I came back later and I walked in and said I was there to fix my nails. He had me waiting outside for a little bit before I decided to wait inside. After a few minutes of waiting inside he had me wait at station 33, which is where I was at on Thursday. I waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to the station and when a lady finally came I asked her if she was the one who painted my nails on Thursday (because it didn't look like her) and she said she didn't work on Thursday and go back to the front to tell David. So, I did. David asked me to name the person who helped me Thursday, but I didn't have enough of a conversation to gather a name when I went. I explained to David that I don't know the name of the person who painted my nails and he told me to walk around the salon to find the person who did it. Which I did not do. I told him that I was not going to do that because I didn't not want to point out the wrong person and accuse them of giving me a poor service. He told me if I am not going to identify who painted my nails on Thursday then he would not help me. I then told him that I can provide a date and time, along with where I was sitting, and suggested he just reviewed the cameras. He refused. At this point, I was in shock with not only the lack of professionalism David had, but the way this whole situation unfolded. I was willing to walk out of the salon if he was ok with the kind of work his employees are doing. I attempted to show him my nails once again but he didn't look and backed up his employees work. If this is the quality work David Lee Nail Spa takes pride in, then ok but I will not be returning, especially after seeing them reuse disposable files, buffers, sanding bits, and so forth. If you're looking for a clean salon to get a nail service done at, this is not the place. read more

I have been coming to this salon for a very long time. There have only been a few times that I have had subpar service. They are always busy but will accommodate as much as they are able. My preference is for Vivian she is amazing! If you want to avoid the crowds it's best to come mid week when they first open. I have found more time is spent on pedicures when I do. read more

I got the $30 pedicure. And the lady was so fast on every step. I didnt get to enjoy and relax. I really came today to get a callous treatment. The dam lady just applied the callous softener for only 10 second. Usually they let is sit for and 2 mins so the callous can soften. There was the salt scrub and mask and cooling gel applied to my leg. But she didn't rinse my legs off inbetween those step. Jus added one step on top of another. Made my legs feel so dry cause she didn't properly rinse my legs and jus applied lotion. I would recommend royal nails. And not this place read more

I have always gone here it's my go too place! Last night we had a group of 5 girls go in. One was running 10 minutes late. We got seated and they told us they'd save the open seat next to us. About 3 minutes later they sit someone else in that seat so our friend gets sat on the other side of the room. We asked for a menu they told us they didn't have any at the moment but gave the girl next to us one. The. To top it all off my water was way too hot and I said something and didn't get attended too. During selecting which package we wanted we were going to do package 3 but got told by Paul I believe that they were too busy and to pick the basic package only. When people who came in before us for the package we wanted. I I understand being busy but rushing us out stop taking clients if you can't keep up. Then during our pedicure they told my friend they need to help him support her leg because It is too heavy for him. In my opinion that is extremely rude and she was hurt by this comment. Then during mine I just asked for the natural pink and the gentleman doing our toes started talking and one told me "He said you have weird toes, no French tip" and continued to laugh. Then my 86 year old grandma needs a walker to walk and Paul tried to make her walk from The drying station to get her nails done without her walker we had to run over and assist her and her it for her since they placed it to the side where she couldn't get it herself. I have never been to such an aweful place! It was dirty from the grinding of nail acrylic. They never have you wash your hands to get the particles off you! I was a mess. The design I chose cost 10.00 more & she had to learn how to do it. The nails look so bad as all designs are different. She also cut them way short & never asked. When I told the "guy" I would not be back, the anger in his face was hysterical! What an odd place. They don't speak English so they can talk about you. Luckily, I had my Vietnamese friend on the phone listening. So funny! At least the young gal sitting next to me was laughing, so we enjoyed the humor of this ridiculous adventure. I went here for a $30 pedicure. I was hoping to get a bang for my buck and get a nice leg massage but NO they ended up rushing me to get out of there I went on the weekend and it was super busy! The staff literally were on the tile floor doing the customers pedicures on foot stands and didn't have time to sanitize their equipment and tools. All I got was a quick foot rinse and a leg massage with dollar tree named brand lotion . And I had to pay with cash cause they don't accept credit cards there for some weird reason. I take my autistic teen daughter for pedicures often, she likes to try different places. The woman here doing her pedi was so rude and told her "I know how to do my job" when she would ask her something (she likes things very precise but means no harm ) maybe they couldn't read that she was special needs but they shouldn't be that rude to anyone anyway. I went in for a pedicure and manicure after getting my pedicure I waited 30 minutes for someone to paint my toes.. No one did I had to go up to the front and ask. When it came to my manicure the tech was rude and burned every finger when filing. I will not be going back. WORST experience! The only good thing about this visit was that I got to spend time with my sis. I came to visit from the Bay Area, 2-3hrs away. I had a dip set on my nails and wanted to get gel nails. The owner David came and started peeling the gel off with a nail clipper off from my real nails!! It hurt so much and I told him, he kept saying that my nails were to weak to keep them that length. He didn't even soak them in acetone. He has a very nasty attitude towards everything. I wanted to keep my regular nails length, but since he cut them so awful, I had to cut them shorter. I couldn't even get acrylic because according to him my nails were weak, well yeah they got all ugly after he cut them off. My friend and I just walked away from David Lee's nail salon from receiving a 14 minute pedicure. Which was, by far, the fastest, most unsatisfying pedicure I have ever received. I no longer live in Modesto, but decided to come back to this tried and true establishment, or what I thought I remembered was tried and true establishment, for a pedicure with my dear friend. Before I knew it my pedicure was over with and we were ushered away to sit under a fan and immediately asked for payment. Maybe Saturday afternoon pedicures are rushed because it's busy, or maybe Saturday afternoon pedicures are rushed because you said no to gel. Either way it was not the experience we were looking for. They send me over to the regular David and Lee from the spa to get my nails done because I am wanting acrylic ombré nails. And they make me wait after I have an appointment at 1:30 and it's now 255 and this stupid ass guy at the David Lee who sits in the front and making personal phone calls and talking about god knows what. And apparently he is David!! The owner itself displaying such shit ass service. Like I'm honestly disgusted. Literally the worst service ever. They take your full amount. Expect a fucking tip and they do a horrible horrible job. Never again. And you know the worst part is. They don't even care. What's one mad customer. They run so well.
