Love Donie! She has been doing my nails for about 10 years now. Her shop is small and intimate feeling. You don't feel rushed through the appointment. I began seeing her for gel nails (not gel polish) when not too many were doing them at the time. A few years ago, we were discussing my nails and I mentioned I liked how fiberglass looked and felt. She does this too, so we switched. My daughter now sees her for her nails. We have appointments every 2 weeks or so. Depends on our schedules, Donie's and ours. Groupon buyers beware! As a business owner, should you choose to offer a Groupon for your services, there should certainly be a limit on the number of Groupons you allow to be sold based on your ability to complete the services. This business owner, unfortunately, oversold their Groupons. I tried scheduling my mani-pedi a week prior to my Groupon expiring by calling the salon. I received a voicemail message asking me to go to the website to schedule online. Online I went! They were booked two weeks out. So, I scheduled the first available (which happened to be past my Groupon's expiration date). I called again a couple of days before my appointment to confirm that my full Groupon would be honored, I got the voicemail again - TWICE! Then I received a curt text stating that if my Groupon was expired, they would only offer the monetary value. I explained the scheduling situation and the owner's poor excuse basically was: -There are only two of us here and we cannot keep up with demand. -You had three months to schedule your mani-pedi, you should have scheduled it at least a month in advance. Um, who schedules mani-pedis a month in advance? NO ONE! This is bad customer service at its worst. Luckily, Groupon is letting me do a trade-in because I certainly didn't want to spend any additional dollars at this place. read more

Here's the story: So I bought a living social deal to get a mani/pedi for 50% off only to have it cancelled by a fairly curt and rather rude (you are speaking with a potential customer here) woman. To give you the full story, I will admit that I did schedule and then have to re-schedule twice. The second time I actually missed my appointment and re-scheduled afterwards. In my defense, it was during graduation weekend where I was swamped with family obligations, packing, and moving all my stuff out of my apartment, as well as LSAT studying all at the same time. On top of this, I am getting ready for a climb up kilimanjaro in a couple of weeks and it turned out that I had a doctor's appointment at the same time which concerned my trip to Africa. Clearly, the doctor's appointment took precedence and when I re-scheduled my appointment with Nails Naturally I left a note explaining this. Apparently, on the certificate it says that if you cancel less than 3 days before the appointment you completely forfeit the service. My apologize for not reading the fine fine print (which is below a bunch of other information rather than being listed under the description of the services - a place where most people would probably read). Most businesses, for a first time customer, usually are rather understanding (1. who really reads the fine print? and 2. i bet if your week was as chaotic and stressful as mine you would have forgotten an appointment too) and allow an exception for the benefit of gaining a loyal customer but this woman obviously did not care about expanding her client base. I hope the $35 dollars was worth losing a potentially very loyal customer. And it really is a damn shame because from the other reviews it seems that they do pretty good work. read more

I still make a point to have Donie take care of my nails whenever I am in Austin. I moved to Georgia and have not found anyone with scrubs and polishes that are natural, long lasting and with a Donie is awesome. She is very concerned with customer service and the happiness of her customers. She takes great care of my nails and they have never been healthier. She also remembers my fashion aesthetic and picks out colors so that I don't need to spend a lot of time looking through her wide range of polishes. Today I mentioned that my husband might need a manicure and she made time to take very good care of him. I just love this place!!! read more

I came here to use a Groupon, because it was serendipitously offered when I would be needing my pre-wedding mani/pedi. Woohoo! I would give 5 stars for the services my sister and I received because they were done very well. My sister got a pedicure, and I got a french Gel mani and a pedi. However, I feel like prices are pretty steep, considering I can get the same services elsewhere for much less. The groupon I had already bought was $35, and I still had to end up paying $80 when I left there. I already had gel on my nails, and to soak it off was $10 (which I didn't find out until my prices were being totaled at the end). And the French part of my Gel manicure was a $14 upgrade, whereas I have never paid more than $5 for French. So I paid $115 for three services (tip included). Yikes. read more

This was the WORST experience in a spa I have ever had!!! At first, they seemed professional but it quickly went downhill. I arrived for my appointment and was offered water, which never showed up. The receptionist was watching a bootlegged copy of the new movie Ted (which she admitted was bootlegged) so in between the construction going on I was listening to the foul language in that movie. Very unprofessional. Thirty minutes past my scheduled appointment, I had still not been seen. My tech came out only once to offer free gel for my wait but then I never saw her again. 45 minutes past my appointment I inquired as to the delay and how long my appoint would last when it actually started because I was now on a time crunch. The next thing I know, they are rescheduling me. I sat for over an hour listening to construction, foul language, not being seen, denied my money back, and told I would have to come back at another time. The owner, Donie was there but never came out to apologize for her poorly run "spa". I will NEVER recommend this place. I will NEVER go there again. That night I went to two social events and told everyone there about my horrible experience. The irony is, I tried to reschedule days earlier and they never called me back (which was my second experience about their lack of response time). They would not let me reschedule but clearly over booked and I payed the price several ways. read more

Donie gave me a great gel manicure with Day of the Dead skulls painted on (per my request). If you want exotic or detailed nail art in Austin, this is the place. Also, I can see a lot of reviews about poor service, but this didn't resonate with my experience at all. My appointment was on-time, affordable ($37), and the salon was clean. I recently had an indulge me-mani/pedi which was wonderful. Donie brought me drinks and chocolates, I felt very pampered. My visit there was a gift from a friend, which I believe got upgraded for free. I loved the feel and smell of home made scrubs and lotions Donie makes. (This salon also offers alternative polishes with less toxins.) Donie spent a lot of time on me and my feet and hands/arms (awesome massage of legs/arms!). I felt very well taken care of, and the manicure was really good. Usually when I get one at my regular place, I feel rushed out of there so they can see the next customer and the polish barely has time to dry. It's been over 48 hours...the time given on the voice mail for a return call. No call back. People are nice, service took forever and was low quality! 2 1/2 hours for a mani and a pedi? Massages meh. My toe nails look ok and are holding up after 2 days including a visit to the pool. The cuticles have nail polish on them. I suspect that may cause a problem soon. The manicure, ugh. Polish didn't set the 1st or 2nd time. When the lady first tested them the polish rubbed right off. Then she corrected it buy painting over. On at least half the nails the polish slid, was lumpy, etc. I sat under a drier for 40 minutes. And still and 1 1/2 later the polish was still moving. In the end it looked like a first grader painted them. I showed them to a few friends and took off the mess the next day. But have kept the toes. I did call the salon but did not recieve a phone call back. If I had I would have bumped up the rating a bit. Still I would not have gone back because 2 1/2 hours is just too long to have something done that is going to last...what a week maybe? read more

Shauri is awesome, fast, and does great work. I get my Gelish polish done by her and the polish last up to 3 weeks. I should get it done more often because my nails grow super fast with the gel polish. In the past I've have problems with my nails pealing but that's stopped since I've started getting my nails done here. Prices are comparable to what I've paid at other places. I've read other reviews that complain about trying to book an appointment. Did you know you can book online with them? Super easy and anyone savvy enough to leave a review about having problems calling to book an appoint should have no problems booking online. read more

Found out about this place via Groupon - it's a good choice if you want to avoid the chemical smell of typical salons and want a choice of natural products. My mani/pedi w/ Kesha lasted 2 hours & included salt scrub and paraffin wax treatments. The beverages in the waiting area are a nice touch and the online scheduling system was super convenient. Wide range of polishes available to choose from, including nontoxic/organic (can a nail polish be organic?). The salon is small (room for 2 clients at a time) and tucked away in an office park. For the reviewer who said the pedicure was unsanitary, I saw Kesha wash/wipe down every surface after I was done, before the next client walked in. I stumbled upon this place because of the Living Social Deal which was $35 for a reflexology mani/pedi. I get pedicures every month and have been doing so for many many years .. I am always trying out new salons, but I gotta say .. this pedicure was the best pedicure I have ever gotten. Her salon is really small .. and can feel a bit cramped up .. but oh my God - Donie was amazing. She has been in this business for over 10 years and knows exactly what she is doing. The reflexology part was soooo relaxing. The sugar scrub she used was really good on my skin and the paraffin wax treatment was sooo soothing. The paint work was perfect and I am very very impressed. I wish they weren't that expensive - $46 for a pedicure is a little too pricey for me. But Donnie gave me a frequent visitor card which entitles the customer to a free 6th visit!! I found this little gem through a Living Social (Groupon like) deal and am so glad. I've been in Austin 7 years and after a few disappointed trips to sub par nail salons I finally gave up finding 'my' place. Donie, the owner, is great. Very friendly and clearly knows her stuff. I don't NEED to have my nails done, but it's a nice treat once in awhile and I'll definitely visit this salon again. Pro: Friendly, professional, great work. They have a frequent visitor program, after 5 visits the 6th is free! I ended up in Donie's very capable hands when I stopped by after having my eyebrows threaded by Jamila (love Jamila!!!). I popped in to ask if they had Gellish/Shellac polish. They did, and yes, they could fit me in that day. It's day 13 after my Gellish manicure and my nail still look flawless. Donie was very personable, she truly has the gift of the gab. Not only did she do a wonderful job on my nails, I was also so impressed to hear her views on using natural and responsible products. I went to my scheduled appointment today (2 minutes early) and was told by a voice from the back that she'll be with me in a minute. I could hear bits of her phone conversation and it was obviously not an urgent call. I waited and waited - still no sight of the proprietor or any other word from her .... I am sitting on a couch, the only other person here other than the voice from the back. 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I left. I had hired a sitter for this occasion and was not in a position to continue to wait for an undetermined amount of time. Donnie knew from our scheduled appointment that this was a Groupon mani/pedi. Not sure if she has had poor experience with tipping or missed appointments with Groupon or if this is her normal mode of operation. I left the Groupon Voucher on the couch. I bought a groupon to this salon after reading all of the rave reviews and now I'm wondering who they paid to write them. Besides the woman being very sweet, it was a horrible experience. They left out the massage, did only a little bit of cuticle and "clean up" work on my mani/pedi and that was only because I asked for it! The color for the shellac wasn't what I requested and was so terrible, I had it taken off the next day. I mentioned the experience to one friend and she said she had an awful mani/pedi there as well. This place can be good for some, but not for me. The room is small and has no windows, so you will be breathing that acetone smell. If you are like me, you'll have a headache. When i read that it was an "organic, natural" kind of place I expected a pipeless bowl for the pedicure, but that is not what I found. Those bowls are a fantastic place to get some fungus (told by my doctor). These are the bowls that you find in almost all nail salons, but I came expecting something better. At least the prices suggested so. I got the shellac (or something like that) manicure. Just now I figured out that you are supposed to go back to the salon to remove it (and of course pay for it). The good thing about this product is that it doesn't chip. But my nails are growing, so even if it's not chipped, it looks ugly. I wish that had been explained to me before I got it since I made clear I have never had used that product before. I believe it was the owner who I talked to when I called, and she said it is the consumer's responsibility to get informed. She might be right, I regret not have researched more about this place before going. I'll consider this part of my education and will never go back there. I have to say that the lady who attended me, Glenda, was very nice and did a good job. If you know all that, and you are ok with that, good for you. But don't go there expecting a "natural, organic" kind of place like The Nature Company Spa or Esty. read more

I found this salon through a Groupon coupon. The atmosphere is not relaxing, cramped, dark, caotic. The pedi tub was out of order. Both the nail tech, Glenda and owner Donie were very apologetic. I'm in the service industry and understand things happen that are out of your control. I recieved a gift certificate for myself or another for my inconcenience. Donie does the best pedicures I've ever had. They're very relaxing, and my feet are SO soft when I leave. She recommends great home care too. And I've never had a pedicure from Nails Naturally chip. (To be fair, I'm not sure I've ever had a pedicure chip.) Her normal manicures are above average, but didn't blow me away. They're relaxing and leave my skin smooth, but chip after a couple of days. (To be fair, I've only had one manicure in my entire life that lasted more than 48 hours without chipping.) Last time I was there I tried the Gellish manicure. I'm definitely a fan! It's exactly the same as their normal manicure, except that I'm now on day 7 with no chips! I actually believe this will last the promised 2-3 weeks, even with how rough I am on manicures. (I wanted to test it, so I haven't been taking any special care of it at all, yet my nails are still impeccable.) Aside from the services themselves, I'm also really impressed by Donie's knowledge. The first time I went to see her, she recognized a specific vitamin deficiency just by looking at my nails- a vitamin deficiency my doctor told me about just a few days before this! Her reflexology is great too. (I swear it helps with my migraines, but that's probably just a placebo effect.) Plus Donie makes her own products, which are fantastic. And everyone who works there is really friendly and easy to talk to, and they all give great advice about caring for your nails/cuticles/hands/feet. Summary: pedicures- amazing normal manicures- good, not great (because of chipping) gellish manicures- amazing- their normal manicure but no chipping! overall knowledge- holy crap, so impressive Oh, and overall experience- Their online system makes it really easy to schedule an appointment, though you may have to do it a couple of weeks in advance. They're sometimes running a few minutes behind (nothing extreme- just 5-10 minutes), but that's because they take their time to make it a relaxing and positive experience for their customers. What a disappointment. I scheduled an appointment and asked if "she ran on time.....I told her it was fine if she sometimes ran behind but just tell me and I will call before I come. "I allow 20 mins between appts and I run on time" was her response. Well.....I arrived ON TIME; we are all working for a living and everyone deserves to be treated as if their time is as important as mine. She was still doing someone's nails, 25 minutes later I sat down in the chair for not just the quickest pedicure on record but one of the worst. The polish was so thick it bubbled, she did not clean up the nail bed just did a bit of filing and a hot wax. I recently moved to Austin and I have been searching for a "pedi" home. I was so excited to try the new Gelish polish and was also excited to have my nails done by Donie. I specifically requested her when I made my online appointment. When I arrived Donie was working with another client. :( It has been 10 days since I had my nails done and I am not sure I can stand it for 3 weeks...so not sure it is worth it. There is a huge gap now where my nail has grown out and the new part is not polished. Also, the polish on one nail is about to peel off on its own. I think I will try this out one more time with a French manicure and see if I like it better. This first time I had a dark "Vamp-ish" color put on...the grow out looks pretty bad. so all in all, not sure this is something I will keep up. I came here on Tuesday to have a regular pedicure/gellish manicure. Donie's assistant did my mani/pedi and she was very nice and professional. I understand why everyone wants Donie- she seems to have a really fun personality and she is a perfectionist. Anyway I love the gellish! It's only been 2 days but I just love the idea of a long-wear polish. We'll see if it really lasts 2 weeks. As far as the pedicure- i got this really cool glitter polish that I loved but the polish has completely come off 3 of my toenails :-(. It's only been 2 days and I haven't done anything extreme like swimming, etc. My pedicures usually last longer- maybe it has to do with the polish I chose but it's pretty disappointing. I like that they do Minx nails and gellish here. I love fun/borderline tacky nails and it seems like they do those well with all the colors available. As far as pedicures- I have had better unfortunately. It sucks when you spend money and it only lasts a matter of days. I could do better myself at home. I'm sure some have had better experiences here and clearly many have had worse but my appointment (which had to be make over two weeks out) was ok. I waited for almost half an hour past my appointment time in a waiting room that was chemically suffocating. I had to go outside to relieve the headache I received from the smells. When I finally got to my pedicure, it was nice but not the most thorough I've ever had. The mani was nice but messed up before I got home and she missed some of the sides. Kesha did my nails and toes and she was incredible! Most places I have gone to in the past do the bare minimum on the service, but Kesha and Doni took their time and made sure they looked perfect. Both Kesha and Doni took care of me when I got sick during my appointment. Absolutely love the sugar scrub they used on your legs and hands. This was my first experience with Donie. I purchased a mani-pedi groupon and asked her to add some reflexology. I had a great experience - she's amazing at reflexology! I've had reflexology in Thailand and Malaysia, and Donie works just as deeply. You might need to ask her to go a little easier at times. I've never experienced such deep work by an American! The pedicure was very unsanitary- no liner in the tub. She didn't remove all of my old nail polish on my toes and one toe polish came completely off after one week. Once my nails started to grow, I could see the old polish underneath. The "massage" on my feet was not relaxing and she rubbed her knuckles on my arch, which was actually painful. My fingernails were crooked and she cut my finger with the nail file. I had an appointment and was on time, but waited a long time before starting. The whole process took over 2 hours. read more

As luck would have it, I stumbled upon Donie, and all I can say is she is wonderful. She did such an amazing job of gently removing my old product, and then applying the amazing product she uses. Unique Service, Products, and Comfortable Environment - I also stumbled upon Nails Naturally because of the Living Social deal and give the Salon and Kesha who worked on my nails (deluxe mani/pedi) highest recommendations. Kesha was lovely and happy to talk about the homemade and natural products that she used to make my feet and hands feel heavenly. Home made sugar scrub with a lemony herbal scent- enough said! This salon is relaxing, comfortable and small which creates a cozy vibe. The service was excellent and in my opinion better than that offered at Embellish and similar Austin Salons I have visited in the past. I just returned for my second visit to give them another chance. The first I came in on a coupon deal and had a very long wait. I decided to try again. Doni is amazing and wanted to make sure that I had a good visit this time; I did. I have respiratory problems and can no longer go to salons where the chemicals are used and masks are worn; doctor's orders. Also a friend was told to avoid those places by her Oncologist. You will not see or smell a chemical in this place, your services will be done in a private room, and the added foot reflexology was unbelievable. Nails Naturally means I can continue to have beautiful nails and not have to breath the harsh and harmful chemicals. Via Groupon, had a mani/pedi today with Kesha. She was friendly, didn't keep me waiting, salon was clean. There is a good variety of polishes. The mani/pedi is very good. Kesha didn't rush, gave a very professional service. When doing the pedicure, she wore gloves which is important to me. All the tools used were in sanitized packages, another plus. Plenty of parking available. The actual building where the salon resides is hard to find the first time. Enter the complex, it is building 10, second floor. It is a very humiliated experience, I brought a LivingSocial vouch for deluxe mani/pedi at Nails Naturally when I walked in and Kesha said to me 'It will be extra $25 for you', it really surprised me. When I asked why? She said that vouch is for new customer and I have been there before. I truly do not remember, she went next room to find the other woman (maybe she is Shauri Gibson, I am not sure). She was rude and ugly and accused me "salon hopping' and try to take advantage of the sale price. I asked why she didn't tell me when I made the appointment, she said she did. She lied. She turned to Kesha said 'just give her a mini' then demand a big tips. I was so shock and did not know what to do. Kesha proceeded to ask me select the color and try to start some conversation, but it was so awake and I was near tears. I rake my brain and try to remember; it was over a year ago with another on line coupon vouch at a different location - at Anderson Lane. If I knew it was her place, I will never buy this one since the atmosphere was bad and she tried to nickel and dime the customer and very unprofessional argue about the tips.
