Nah Won has been one of my favorite stops to pick up kimchi and kimbap for a long time. I'm very particular about my Korean food so I go out of the way to stop there when I'm in the area. This is the first time we've dined in & honestly the food didn't disappoint. Don't let the location or exterior deter you from going. It's not in the nicest part of town & looks a bit questionable on the outside. Once you step inside, you're transported to an old school family run Korean eatery. Service was prompt and attentive. This was an order placed online and delivered to work. I tried the Korean hot dog and the Mul Mandu (steamed beef dumplings). They both arrived fast, and packaged well to keep them warm and fresh. This was my first korean hot dog and it was delicious! It is essentially a hot dog and melty mozzarella cheese that is battered with what I can only describe as funnel cake, and fried, then dusted with sugar. The sweet and salty really work well together, with the ketchup and mustard setting it off even more. It was fried well and not greasy, a nice little snack. The dumplings were pretty standard, and enjoyed as well but that hot dog was a hard act to follow! My friend went here a couple of months ago and raved about it. So, I was so excited to come and check it out today for lunch. I checked out their extensive menu particularly their bento boxes and decided to go with the spicy chicken bulgolgi. There was a few of us, so our food took a while plus there was only one waitress to serve like six tables--I felt so bad for her. However, she stayed so cool, kind, and calm throughout our orders and so many changes. My food was delicious and I was super impressed by the dumplings. They were crispy and had tons of flavor. The miss was the spice and the kimchi. There unfortunately was no spice, but the food did have a good flavor to it, especially the chicken. I usually rate a Korean restaurant based on how they prepare and serve bibimbap (a vegetable and rice dish that can have a bit of meat and has an egg on top). 1) it was not served in an earthenware bowl (a cracked egg cooks in an earthenware bowl) and it would have to be fried to put in a regular ceramic bowl. 2) There was shredded lettuce in the dish along with other root vegetables such as onions, scallions, bean sprouts, etc. The shredded lettuce was a weird choice to add to the dish. I ordered a side of Yakimandu ( fried dumplings), that comes with a dish of soy sauce to dip it in). I thought the dumplings were in the deep fryer too long. I still ate them and shared them with my two friends who never ate a Korean restaurant before and didn't know any better. read more

So this is my second visit. And after having such a positive experience the 1st time I was excited to return. From the taste of things, there's a new chef in town. And he/she doesn't give a damn about seasoning or flavor. I ordered fried rice with tofu and subbed all my sides for radish. Last time I got kimichi fried rice which was super flavorful, good, but a bit too spicy for me. What I received was extremely bland fried rice. No salt, no spice, nothing... I know that tofu has very little flavor on its own and I'm ok with that. But there was no seasoning to be found in the rest of the dish. To make matters worse they supplied the lowest quality soy sauce. I pulled some Ponzu from the fridge that helped but by that point I was done. And the delicious, sweet radishes I enjoyed so much last visit? Bland, lifeless, no sweetness to be found. The beef bulgogi suffered the same flavorless fate. Asked what it tasted like she described tasting nothing but sugar and soy sauce. She was expecting a good amount of heat, which was present the 1st time. Both of our plates remained mostly full... Eating out for 2 is pricey, so the over $30 price tag is to be expected. But to have the quality drop like this is crazy. read more

Excellent Korean food. Ordered take out on a Tuesday night. They said 20 minutes and they meant 20 minutes which is awesome! I walked in and the order was ready. I also bought a house made Kim chi. All of the food was still hot when I arrived home. The spicy pork bulgolgi was spicy but not 'I'm going to die' spicy. The japchae was full of mushrooms and chives which really complimented the dish.
