I was really looking forward to trying this coffee shop, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The milk in my coffee tasted so spoiled that I couldn't even sip it an hour later. At first, I thought maybe it was just me, but after taking another sip, it was clear something was wrong. We ordered two drinks, and both had the same issue an unmistakable spoiled milk taste. I've been to many coffee shops and have never had a coffee taste like this. I regret not bringing it up to the barista, but at the same time, this is something that shouldn't happen in the first place. I hope this was just an off day. read more

I love the laid-back atmosphere, the anarchist periodicals on the coffee table and the stage used for punk shows during after hours. The place is proud to be Alt., Make and DIY, which I love. The coffee is decent too. The comically rude barista might also be considered to add to its charm, but after my third interaction, straining not to laugh at having to catch my drink when it is slid at me with a hateful scowl, I have started to feel unwelcome. Maybe I emit too much a "corpo" vibe for that particular barista's taste, but if that is how customers are treated who they seem not to approve of, the place will eventually fail, which would be a shame. read more

I was pretty disappointed with my visit here. When we asked if they had any specialty drinks, the barista simply told us to "look at the menu" instead of offering suggestions or explaining anything. It came off as unhelpful and dismissive, especially since part of the fun of trying a new coffee shop is learning about their unique drinks or recommendations. Their espresso is not good, or perhaps it was the barista that pulled it. It was sour and just gross, to the point I had to cover it with sweetener. Definitely not returning. Ambiance is very dark. Low lighting and black walls, which is odd for a cafe. Spacious and decent amount of tables. Walls and art look old and run down, and not in an artsy way. Not the vibe I enjoy overall. Good coffee but the curly hair barista had a rude attitude and went on a ramble about Starbucks and how Starbucks doesn't make real macchiatos. Too early in the morning to hear her personal vendetta against a corporation that I personally didn't care to hear and ruins the otherwise calm atmosphere the place has. Very disappointed! whoever is working today and assisted me at around 12:40 p.m on 08/04/2025 was very rude! I was dropping off my resume to various locations and decided to go into Naked Lounge and I regret it! I asked if they were hiring but before I finished my sentence she cut me off and said NO in a very rude tone. I said ok and proceeded to buy a ube matcha but as I'm ordering it the girl was asking me questions about how I want the drink but in a very condescending manner and as I paid for my drink, she proceeds to make the following statement, "word of advice, next time, don't stand in line if you're asking if we are hiring". I saw no purpose to her statement. I don't know if she was having a bad day or she just didn't like the way I looked either way I have worked in customer service and I have never treated my customers in a condescending way! So I am from LA and I am here for about a week and half and my goal is to try at least two new places everyday while I am here. My first place it needs to be a coffee place (cuz you know, morning + coffee = happiness). Anyways the Lounge is a really cool place the sitting area is comfortable, customer service is very nice and the drinks are delicious. This is my second coffee place and so far I am loving it. And PLUS I am vegan so they have wonderful Vegan options, which in my book it's a HUGE plus. read more

REAL CAFE ! Comfortable, eclectic, warm, a little bohemian, welcoming, fun, and authentic. Drip is delicious at just around $2- and and pour over coffee is $4. Excellent espresso menu as well. I love that they have their own drinks, like "bowl of soul" and "Chico Chai" and a taste twist on toasts. Many great spots to sit and talk. Lamps and local art Open 7 am to 11 pm everyday. Aesthetically, one of my favorite places to chill and work. They closed down last year I think, and opened up a little while ago under new ownership I believe. They've made some changes, all of which I think are improvements. The bathroom is fixed up, overall the whole interior of the cafe has been cleaned up and renovated, and they've changed where they get their coffee to one I think is better. Hard to beat the location downtown. Only downside is that for some reason flies can get inside to bother you on particular days...weird! read more

My sister described this as the "hipster coffee house hangout." I hate to say it, but I was already prejudging Naked Lounge based on that comment. On Tuesday morning, my sister and I were across the street getting breakfast and I told her I wanted a good coffee. We headed over to Naked Lounge. I ordered a Mocha and the sister ordered the chai. The art, no doubt provided by a local artist, were large canvases with dark pictures of famous musicians. Awesome. Anyways, the coffee was made rather quickly and we were on the way. One thing i did notice that unlike many other coffee companies *cough* Starbucks *cough* they don't pull long shots that burn the shit out of the espresso. The Naked Lounge: No cafe can boast as racy a name, except perhaps the original Starbucks with its naked mermaid logo. Naked serves a similar menu as Naked Coffee/Tupelo Coffee House in Sac (featuring unique drinks such as mocha Thai, bowl of soul, etc.) except at slightly lower prices. I got the Mocha Thai, aka Vietnamese iced coffee as it was espresso and condensed milk; however, I was fairly unimpressed. It lacked the canopy of whipped cream like what I'd seen at Naked Sac, and the drink itself was very sweet with very mild coffee taste. I thought Naked roasted their own beans and had expected it to be better quality, or at least stronger. Ambiance is hip; it's a cool place to hang out or get work done. Seating ranges from traditional cafe tables near the front windows, a couch with a coffee table under vintage wall decor spelling out Naked, a communal table with an oldschool lamp, a bar area with stools by the espresso machine and a room in the back with a long skinny table. Note that there are no outlets in the front and that the back is quite dark, but otherwise I dig the space. Although I left mildly dissatisfied since my drink was less photogenic and memorable than expected, I do enjoy coming here to study, caffeinate, and watch people's reaction when I say that I'm going to Naked Lounge :3 read more
