Got my favorite tsunami (white bean) mochi and saw a matcha butter mochi that I just had to try. The mochi had good texture and the flavors were good. The matcha in the butter mochi is delicate. Everything in the shop has good presentation and all the mochi is packaged in cute little containers. There are other Japanese snacks and cute stickers you can get there also. Lovely local mochiya offering freshly made treats!

Soft, fresh mochi filled with crunchy peanut butter. Yum! I remember when they were on Waikamilo Road in Kalihi. If you didn't know, like me. They've relocated to the McCully area. Where mochi is continued to be made fresh and a window to see the making of it. The bright and colorful painted wall caught my attention. Great for taking selfies or pictures your purchases. There's three benches outside decorated with stickers that's available for purchase. Too cute! Fujiya Hawaii offers much more than delicious mochi. Such as iced cold drinks, locally made snacks, mochi leis, T-Shirts and the cutest stickers, to name a few things available for purchase. I asked a few questions and the pleasant lady that answered my questions was very helpful and offered me samples of the different flavors of Senbei & Japanese Okoshi- crispy puffed brown rice with macadamia nuts. That was really yummy! I had to add a bag to my order. By Supporting a locally and family owned business, that's been in business since in 1953. I've attempted to contact them multiple times. they have either not responded, or told me they were being shipped but refuse to give me answers or even a simple tracking number. I understand shipments can get lost or things happening, and love small businesses and am happy to work through hick-ups to be patient. But they refuse to even provide me a tracking number for the shipment which makes me fear that they are not going to ship my jars and have just stolen my money. This is the least professional business I've ever worked with. I would take your business elsewhere. We spoke to a different farm while there who said that these guys stole their products anyways so maybe try the originals instead. I hate writing bad reviews, but don't want others to get duped

The market is open Saturdays 8a-12p. We arrived around 8:15a and had no trouble finding parking in the lot although it's pretty rocky (hopefully they'll pave it someday). Going early also helped us beat the crowds & the heat. One of our first stop was Joja & watched him make burgers. We also picked up some salted macadamia toffee from Almond Tree and it was so good! We bought a couple containers for gifts! The highlight was Sugah Papi Farms. We got a fresh fruit bowl and the ladies selling were so friendly! The fruit was incredibly sweet, especially the papaya mango and lychee. The gentleman cutting the fruit was amazing to watch. His knife skills were seriously impressive and watching him prepare the fruit was part of the experience. Get a fruit bowl and take a minute to watch him work! I love supporting local vendors who take pride in providing high-quality produce and products. We left with several bags, happy stomachs and looking forward to coming back!!

The farmers market itself is great! A good variety of food and drinks and prices not too too bad for a touristy area. Venders all seemed to have smiles on their faces which added to the ambiance. Service was great too. We enjoyed mochi waffles, pasta, tiger milk (boba tea inspired)-- all delicious. My husband also enjoyed his Indian Asian fusion steamed potstickers.
