My friend took me to Namaste for lunch! What a delight it was. It's a small casual restaurant located in Sebastopol. The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh, organic ingredients. Bright and vibrant vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly. I've never experienced a crispy Naan but it was some of the best Naan I've ever had. The cucumber salad was fresh and delicious- I could eat it everyday (cucumber, avocado, basil). The chicken korma was cooked perfectly- mild and tasty. My friend enjoyed her lamb curry. We ordered jasmine rice (cooked perfectly). The service was excellent! Everyone on the team was friendly and hospitable. They have a small parking lot and there's additional parking on the street. They have a few tables outside, primary seating inside. I highly recommend Namaste! Try it, you'll be glad you did!

Service was great, they were very attentive. We were starving so i almost forgot to take pictures. But the food was good overall. We got butter chicken, tandoori green chicken boti combo with salmon tandoori, coco curry veggies and garlic naan. We also got a plane basmati ride and a saffron rice; it was way too much rice overall for three people. The green chicken boti from the tandoori oven was my favorite, really yummy with herbs smashed into it. The salmon was fresh but not as smoky toasty as i wanted it to be, and the onion pepper that comes on the sizzling pan with tandoori were plentiful but not charred enough on the cast iron (i like a little charring). The butter chicken was rich, highly flavored and satisfying. The coco curry veggies were just ok. Veggies were fresh but coco sauce just a little too simplistic and coconutty for me; it was my least favorite for the sauce. They start you off with tasty crisp papadum crackers and a sweet tamarind sauce. We asked for mint spicy sauce and we got some; very tasty and homemade. It was a nice mint sauce and definitely not too thin or watered down like I've had in some places that seemed to be trying to make their food more palatable to folks who can't handle flavor n spice. But no this was tasty. Indian restaurants should keep it authentic! The garlic naan was a nice thin style that made it get perfectly crisp on edges, but softer inside. My mom had a tasty glass of Sauvignon blanc; I'm pretty sure it was from New Zealand with its zesty tropical passionfruit/ grapefruit nuances. We like things spicy but still want to taste other flavors, and ordered everything medium hot which seemed to be perfect.

We've been here twice and both times have been delicious. The staff is so sweet, the portions seem small but actually fill you up so fast (and we can eat!).. We've tried the butter chicken, chicken apricot, lamb momo, all the tandoori dishes, and the chicken boti. The tulsi naan was so flavorful and such a good match the all the dishes. All and all, we are so stoked to have such an amazing restaurant so close to our place!

I had called to see if they would be open on July 4th, and they actually called me a few hours later after checking with the owner and they confirmed, yes they would be open regular hours. We headed over at noon for their buffet lunch. Raj (Raz?), was our amazing server. He definitely raised the bar. He is most positive, friendly and conscientious He keeps an eye on all the diners, removing plates, replacing water for the table with a new chilled bottle, and he keeps a close eye on all the buffet items and communicates with the chef when something needs replenishing. The food is, therefore, hot, fresh and incredibly delicious. The one thing we really appreciated is they offer brown and white rice. We much prefer brown rice so that was another positive along with fresh greens. They provide the table with a huge order of fresh naan bread when you first sit down too. The buffet items were prepared with much love and care and all six of us had the most wonderful meal. The interior is clean and inviting. Our server quickly cleaned tables as soon as a guest left so the place looked orderly and inviting. I give big kudos to our sweet server who played a major role in the five star rating. Outstanding job, Raj and Everest. We will be back soon!

Express Lunch menu (menu notes which items are gluten free and vegan), includes lentil soup, salad, butter naan and choice of white or brown rice. We really appreciated the brown rice option. Chicken tika masala - tandoori roasted chicken simmered in a mild creamy sauce. Our sweet server (owner?) mentioned that about 95% of the people love this dish and I am definitely in that group. Wonderful flavors and generous amount of tender chicken. Tofu, kale & potato curry - ingredients all simmered with basil and coconut milk. Very flavorful and seemed healthy. My husband would definitely order again. Our server was friendly, caring and was always smiling. Two servers were handling the entire dining room plus the outdoor diners and they were seamless in their efforts. Our server had recommended the tika masala to me and she was curious what I thought of it. I would order it again tomorrow! The interior is decorated comfortably. Inside the restaurant there is a calming feeling as they were playing slow Hindu chanting music low on their sound system. The first server We began with was very young and maybe learning the menu still as he was really not that good at answering questions on the menu. As soon as we checked in on Yelp, suddenly service picked up. Another more experienced server brought us first, hand towels to wipe out hands (a nice touch, but the towels were almost cold when he brought them, was it an after thought?); and he also brought us complimentary cups of dal that were very tasty. The dishes we got were saag lamb, butter chicken, and organic channa masala, and garlic buttered Naan. Had our first server known how to describe menu better we may have chosen a few different items. He did recommend the butter chicken as one of his favorite so that's why we got it as we often enjoy it other places as well. It was very good, a classic with great sauce, probably the favorite dish. The saag lamb was good too, but we almost got the patak lamb, similar sounding dish but maybe creamier/ other veggie too? But our first server could not really describe difference well. I'm thinking we may have enjoyed the other dish better than saag lamb which was good, but felt the spinach was extremely over cooked, and so finely chopped almost like it was highly minced or powdered? But it was flavorful. The Channa Masala was on the dry side. We we're trying to decide on a saucy vegetable dish and we asked about this dish because we liked that it said organic. That same first server said it was saucy, but not that saucy. Each dish comes with your choice of white or brown rice, or steamed veggies. Two dishes we got brown rice with, and the third we got steamed veggies because we thought there would be more sauce overall to add them too. The rice was allot ( took quite a bit home); the veggies were this nice mix, but so boring with no taste, and what a waste. The veggies even had water floating in bottom of dish. It would be so much nicer if there were an option to have these lightly stirfried with a little flavor as an option ( they were completely bland) , and there was really not enough saucy stuff to add them to so only partially eaten, left remaining there on table instead of taking home with other stuff. We asked for a sample of their side sauces and we got a tiny (like a tablespoon each?) 3 dish sampling of their very tasty homemade mango sauce, tart and tangy cilantro mint sauce, and some sweeter tamarind sauce. But they were very tiny amounts. The Naan was light and crisp, very nice, but could barely taste garlic butter. We asked for our dishes to be medium heat and it was fairly mild for us still, but i guess with American palate, spicy can be relative. But oh well. We also had cups of chai (under $5.00) that had refills, and a glass of house white wine ( Murphy good Sauvignon Blanc was only $8.00 so that was a deal). I'm giving 4 stars for their efforts, but hope they read this so they can improve a few things.
