Chicken tikka kebob (minus one piece I ate before I took the photo), chickpea curry, rice and naan.
    Max H.

After an 8.5 hour drive from So Cal, and after checking into our hotel, we were ready for a modest dinner. Thinking of Mediterranean or Indian, Yelp! offered Himalayan Momo & Kebob ... just a few minutes away from Rohnert Park. As a food court choice among 8 others, I was reasonably satisfied with my "Regular Plate.". Rice, chickpea curry, chicken tikka kebob, and naan for a little less than $14. The chicken tikka was an excellent choice. The piece of chicken was cut into cubes and crisped in a frying pan -- very flavorful with just a touch of "heat". The rest of the meal was passable for mall food. The turmeric-colored basmati rice was a bit off the mark for Indian rice ... it had a few bits of cumin, but definitely lacked the cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon I spice my rice with, and sauteed onions were completely missing in action. The portion was almost 1.5 cups. The chickpea curry was a good choice, but if I had to guess, I'm pretty sure the chickpeas came out of a can. The portion was on the small side ... about 1/3 cup. The warm, foil-wrapped naan was tasty, albeit a little chewy, but understandable since the mall/food court wasn't busy for a Thursday close to 6 pm. I almost ordered a side of raita, but I turned down a 3-oz portion cup at $2.99. Good thing! The server gave me a 1-oz portion as a sample, and it was the saddest excuse for raita. It was so watery that it wouldn't even cling to a piece of chicken tikka. I couldn't give 3.5-stars, which is what I would actually rate my meal, but I didn't want to shortchange them either by giving only a 3-star review. Would I return? If I lived in the area, probably. There are a couple of other good choices in the food court that I would try first.

Wow! This would have a 5-star if this were a regular restaurant, let alone a location at the food court in a mall. I don't know how they pull this off but they made the food fresh when you order. Everything I ate was great. Super friendly and courteous guys as well on top of that.

So glad to have different options in the mall now! I tried it in the first week and wasn't that impressed. However I went back and it was definitely a lot better! I ordered a Junior Bowl and it was quite a good amount of food. It came out to $13 with taxes and tip, which is a fair price in my opinion. I got full quick! I got white basmati rice and butter chicken masala. It comes with toppings and naan on the side! The masala was honestly sooo good. Great flavor and the chicken wasn't overcooked; just perfect. I'm definitely coming here again and trying the other menu items they have to offer!

I tried the new Himalayan Momo & Kebob inside the Santa Rosa plaza today. The owner also owns the Himalayan restaurant in Windsor and Petaluma. I have dined at the Windsor location many times and enjoyed their food! This is a fast food counter in the food court of the mall with a smaller, condensed menu. The menu consists of appetizers, meal or combo with drink (rice, entree, side salad), Momos, drinks and desserts. You can also get specialty naans and fried rice combos. I got the butter chicken combo which came with rice, chicken, side of spinach, side of beans and veggies. It came with regular naan which didnt have much flavor. I also ordered a side of veggie momos to go (an extra 10 mins). I wanted to add a side of shrimp too but he told me it would be a 45 mins wait and I told him I only had a hour for lunch. For drink, I got the mango lassi which was delicious! I was also given a free veggie samosa to try! Food was fresh but the many items lacked flavor and spices. Given the lack of Indian food inside the food court, I think Himalayan Momo & Kebob is a good addition to what is already there (Mongolian, Japanese, Chinese (Panda Express), Cheesesteaks and Mediterranean). It also gives a chance everyone in Santa Rosa/mass market/mall shoppers to experience Himalayan food with ease.

I'm so sorry I started eating before I took a photo. I was too excited. This is my favorite restaurant in Windsor so to have a satellite location at the mall is knocking my socks off. Obviously the quality extends to this location same as expected from the main restaurant. Come one come all for fresh, delicious, healthy, and flavorful food .

Try the fish and chips. It's the bomb. They make it fresh right there in front of you. Really nice folks working there and the mall is a pretty chill place to get a snack.

    Jol momo

Literally AMAZING! Always looking for a good Himalayan Food and this is by far the best I've had! Didn't have jhol momo on the menu but chef was very welcoming to make it for me because I was craving. They also have a brick & mortar location in Windsor. Also got the butter masala and samosa and SO GOOD 10/10!

Absolutely delicious, you wouldn't think you'd find something so good in a food court. Flavours are bold but not overwhelming, rice is super pillowy, butter chicken is drool worthy, chickpea curry is milder in flavour but still flavourful, my mom had the cauliflower and absolutely loved it. People are super kind, can be a little hard to understand so just be patient and kind.

Chicken with butter masala sauce - DELICIOUS!!!!

Their full menu is varied and robust. Dishes like clay oven specialties, several types of curries, (seafood, chicken, goat, lamb), momos, biryani, soup and even Himalayan fried noodles and kabobs. Express Lunch menu (menu notes which items are gluten free and vegan), includes lentil soup, salad, butter naan and choice of white or brown rice. We really appreciated the brown rice option. Chicken tika masala - tandoori roasted chicken simmered in a mild creamy sauce. Our sweet server (owner?) mentioned that about 95% of the people love this dish and I am definitely in that group. Wonderful flavors and generous amount of tender chicken. Tofu, kale & potato curry - ingredients all simmered with basil and coconut milk. Very flavorful and seemed healthy. My husband would definitely order again. Our server was friendly, caring and was always smiling. Two servers were handling the entire dining room plus the outdoor diners and they were seamless in their efforts. Our server had recommended the tika masala to me and she was curious what I thought of it. I would order it again tomorrow! The interior is decorated comfortably. Located across the street from the town green. A lovely and enjoyable first time dining experience here.

Inside the restaurant there is a calming feeling as they were playing slow Hindu chanting music low on their sound system. The first server We began with was very young and maybe learning the menu still as he was really not that good at answering questions on the menu. As soon as we checked in on Yelp, suddenly service picked up. Another more experienced server brought us first, hand towels to wipe out hands (a nice touch, but the towels were almost cold when he brought them, was it an after thought?); and he also brought us complimentary cups of dal that were very tasty. The dishes we got were saag lamb, butter chicken, and organic channa masala, and garlic buttered Naan. Had our first server known how to describe menu better we may have chosen a few different items. He did recommend the butter chicken as one of his favorite so that's why we got it as we often enjoy it other places as well. It was very good, a classic with great sauce, probably the favorite dish. The saag lamb was good too, but we almost got the patak lamb, similar sounding dish but maybe creamier/ other veggie too? But our first server could not really describe difference well. I'm thinking we may have enjoyed the other dish better than saag lamb which was good, but felt the spinach was extremely over cooked, and so finely chopped almost like it was highly minced or powdered? But it was flavorful. The Channa Masala was on the dry side. We we're trying to decide on a saucy vegetable dish and we asked about this dish because we liked that it said organic. That same first server said it was saucy, but not that saucy. Each dish comes with your choice of white or brown rice, or steamed veggies. Two dishes we got brown rice with, and the third we got steamed veggies because we thought there would be more sauce overall to add them too. The rice was allot ( took quite a bit home); the veggies were this nice mix, but so boring with no taste, and what a waste. The veggies even had water floating in bottom of dish. It would be so much nicer if there were an option to have these lightly stirfried with a little flavor as an option ( they were completely bland) , and there was really not enough saucy stuff to add them to so only partially eaten, left remaining there on table instead of taking home with other stuff. We asked for a sample of their side sauces and we got a tiny (like a tablespoon each?) 3 dish sampling of their very tasty homemade mango sauce, tart and tangy cilantro mint sauce, and some sweeter tamarind sauce. But they were very tiny amounts. The Naan was light and crisp, very nice, but could barely taste garlic butter. We asked for our dishes to be medium heat and it was fairly mild for us still, but i guess with American palate, spicy can be relative. But oh well. We also had cups of chai (under $5.00) that had refills, and a glass of house white wine ( Murphy good Sauvignon Blanc was only $8.00 so that was a deal). I'm giving 4 stars for their efforts, but hope they read this so they can improve a few things.
