    Chicken Butter Masala

So glad to have different options in the mall now! I tried it in the first week and wasn't that impressed. However I went back and it was definitely a lot better! I ordered a Junior Bowl and it was quite a good amount of food. It came out to $13 with taxes and tip, which is a fair price in my opinion. I got full quick! I got white basmati rice and butter chicken masala. It comes with toppings and naan on the side! The masala was honestly sooo good. Great flavor and the chicken wasn't overcooked; just perfect. I'm definitely coming here again and trying the other menu items they have to offer!

I tried the new Himalayan Momo & Kebob inside the Santa Rosa plaza today. The owner also owns the Himalayan restaurant in Windsor and Petaluma. I have dined at the Windsor location many times and enjoyed their food! This is a fast food counter in the food court of the mall with a smaller, condensed menu. The menu consists of appetizers, meal or combo with drink (rice, entree, side salad), Momos, drinks and desserts. You can also get specialty naans and fried rice combos. I got the butter chicken combo which came with rice, chicken, side of spinach, side of beans and veggies. It came with regular naan which didnt have much flavor. I also ordered a side of veggie momos to go (an extra 10 mins). I wanted to add a side of shrimp too but he told me it would be a 45 mins wait and I told him I only had a hour for lunch. For drink, I got the mango lassi which was delicious! I was also given a free veggie samosa to try! Food was fresh but the many items lacked flavor and spices. Given the lack of Indian food inside the food court, I think Himalayan Momo & Kebob is a good addition to what is already there (Mongolian, Japanese, Chinese (Panda Express), Cheesesteaks and Mediterranean). It also gives a chance everyone in Santa Rosa/mass market/mall shoppers to experience Himalayan food with ease.

I'm so sorry I started eating before I took a photo. I was too excited. This is my favorite restaurant in Windsor so to have a satellite location at the mall is knocking my socks off. Obviously the quality extends to this location same as expected from the main restaurant. Come one come all for fresh, delicious, healthy, and flavorful food .

Try the fish and chips. It's the bomb. They make it fresh right there in front of you. Really nice folks working there and the mall is a pretty chill place to get a snack.

    Jol momo

Literally AMAZING! Always looking for a good Himalayan Food and this is by far the best I've had! Didn't have jhol momo on the menu but chef was very welcoming to make it for me because I was craving. They also have a brick & mortar location in Windsor. Also got the butter masala and samosa and SO GOOD 10/10!

Absolutely delicious, you wouldn't think you'd find something so good in a food court. Flavours are bold but not overwhelming, rice is super pillowy, butter chicken is drool worthy, chickpea curry is milder in flavour but still flavourful, my mom had the cauliflower and absolutely loved it. People are super kind, can be a little hard to understand so just be patient and kind.

Chicken with butter masala sauce - DELICIOUS!!!!

It was a Friday night, and apparently, they have live music several nights a week! It wasn't amplified, or if it was, it was still provided a great dining atmosphere - not too loud, but I could tell the guy playing was really enjoying himself! We ordered an assortment. I always love Chicken Tikka Masala - I consider it the test of a good Indian restaurant. We got the Allo Gobi - a cauliflower and potato dish, as well as some of their lemon rice. I had never seen that before so we had to try it. We also had a Paneer dish with onions and peppers. Everything was fantastic! So fresh and flavorful, and absolutely packed with spiced! My partner said she thought it was the best we have ever had! We enjoyed everything, and the service was very friendly and personal. We spoke with someone who may have been the owner, who informed us that the food was from Punjab - far Northern India. We had a great meal, and felt like we made new friends as well. Wave if you see us there - we may have our own table there before long!

I ordered a CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA and Naan bread. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The meal came out quickly as was hot. The Tikka Masala looked like a small portion, but ended up with lots of chicken and was very tasty. The Naan bread was enormous. I mean it was a lot! I only used about a 1/4 or 1/3 to sop up the yummy sauce. Everything was good. I ended up taking the rest of the Naan bread home and enjoyed it re-heated. Nice place with a casual atmosphere.

Lately though, they expanded their menu, and holy moly, I had to write this review. They might have changed ownership too? Not sure, but something is definitely different. Generally, the food has always been good, but yesterday, our socks were knocked off by the tastiness of our meal here. First off: They now have deep fried momo's. And holy cow. We've had their steamed momo's which are good, but these deep fried ones are everything you want them to be. Crunchy on the outside and the chicken on the inside has a curry spice to it. It was a little on the salty side, but it didn't deter too much. The curry dipping sauce is also incredible. We also had a baigan bartha (eggplant) and chicken korma - both were way excellent! I feel like they really up'd the game. The chicken korma was so flavorful, even more so than before. I hadn't gotten the baigan bartha from here in a long time, but it was pretty awesome. Likely, they up'd the butter and cream... that's usually how it goes. But I dunno... maybe not just that, there's more complexity to the food. Anyhow, it was amazing. The service here is a little toned down, but not bad. You get the feeling that the workers / owners are pretty new here to the US... which takes me to the strange experience I had early on... On our 2nd time there, we asked for glasses of water, and what they brought out was incredibly hot water in water glasses. It was boiling hot. My husband asked if they could cool bring us cold water, and they were not super happy about that request, but they tried to do it. They came back with less hot water, but still warm. It was weird. You're eating spicy indian food, you want some cold water to cool you down. Anyhow, not sure if there was something going on with their water system, or what. But they were not very communicative, which makes me think perhaps they are new to the US. No judgement - coming from an Asian American myself. Anyhow, nothing weird like that happened afterwards, (they give you cold water) but I do sometimes deter from coming here because it's slightly hole-in-the-wall-ish. The lights are dim, making it feel a bit dingy. I hate to say it but as I get older, I just am less excited about hole-in-the-wall places, even though I loved them when I was younger. Now, I just want to eat in a nice enviornment. Either way, the food is great, and also not too expensive. So, we will continue to come. How can we not get those fried momo's!!!

The Most Underrated Gem in Sonoma County…read more Bollywood Kitchen in Healdsburg is genuinely one of the most underrated restaurants in Sonoma County. Don't let the humble setting fool you because once you walk in you are in for an exceptional experience. The food here is absolutely phenomenal. Some of my favorite dishes are the goat biryani, chicken momo, dal makhani, coconut lamb, and chicken vindaloo. Each dish is bursting with authentic flavor and cooked to perfection. The menu beautifully blends Indian, Nepalese, and Tibetan influences that keep me coming back again and again. The service is outstanding. Over the time I have been eating here I have gotten to know the staff and their warmth and genuine hospitality make every visit special. Rupesh is especially thoughtful and attentive and always makes sure you feel welcomed. Whether you are a local or just visiting Healdsburg I recommend Bollywood Kitchen to everyone I know. Probably a five or six minute walk from the plaza. The star of the dinner for me was the "Malai Kofta - Vegetable dumpling cooked in creamy tomato, onion sauce, cashew & Indian spices." Already thinking about the next visit, just for this dish. But really every thing from the sample soup we received (how nice), the vegetable pakora's to start and the papadam's which I just love. Also had the Palak Paneer which again was yummy. They have a spice rating and we went with the two peppers (mild/medium) and for me this was perfect. If you want medium (3 peppers) or more, I wish you good eating . It does not have the ambience of some of the other HBG dining places, but I would go here for sure if I lived locally or was just visiting.
