My oh my Namo Cafe and bistro was delicious. With tons of unique indian fusion options Namo cafe peaked my interest. When my bf and I went we were not overly hungry so we decided to get an entree and share and I am so glad that we did since the portions here were enormous. The service was also great and the ambiance inside was cute and bubbly with tons of bright colors! We decided to get the lunch special of the Duck confit monte cristo which is French toast stacked with bacon, duck, a fried egg and arugula and paired with cheese and maple syrup. I requested the cheese on the side since I am lactose intollerant but my bf is not. Everything about this dish was fresh, packed with flavor and perfectly sweet and savory. My favorite part was the fluffy French toast and the rich duck pieces. Slathering everything in Canadian maple syrup was the right move and the maple syrup elevated the entire dish even more! While the dish was incredible, the drinks sadly fell short as we decided to get the matcha latte and the oat milk masala chai. Out of the two the masala chai definitely had more spice and flavor but both were mild for my liking and a tad watery. read more

Very friendly and attentive staff and very neat place to try unique breakfasts! Gets crowded because place is as big as an en-suite, but not super noisy, and they really try to seat you fast as possible. The pastrami bowl was surprisingly good, with gravity defying poached eggs and the most gently creamy hollandaise, tossed with super soft curds. I would say the meat was more like Montreal smoked meats but it was super tender. The fererochere sp? French roast is not too sweet and a big hit. I don't think my wife was impressed with the donburi, but hey it was a good try. I'll def come back next time I'm in Alberta. Place was t a great find! read more

Food here was excellent! Came by to try some brunch on a random Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. We went at peak lunch hours around 11:30-12 and ended up waiting for about 30 minutes which wasn't too bad. They also have an online waiting list you can join before you get there so you don't have to wait too long. The food was very good and worth every penny. Excellent seasoning and the plating was beautiful. Server was kind and cheerful. Would definitely come back again! read more

Food wasn't mind blowing. Serving proportions were great. Taste and quality of food wasn't special. Honestly, just a step away from mediocre. I've had really good chicken karaage from Japan and other Asian countries so I'm not sure if my standards are unrealistic for a cafe in Calgary. Just being honest tho. I'm not the best judge for lamb so I'll say it was okay- good. Service was amazing. The staff were so kind and patient to give us time to order. She also explained a few dishes to us because the menu was quite large, a lot to choose from. It was hard. Ambiance is cute. I do want to come back because of the interesting selections they had. Namo is my favourite restaurant of Calgary 2021. It isn't new, but it was new to me. It was the first one I visited in-person post-isolation and the one I've revisited most since. First off, the food is incredible. Although leaning towards savoury, my most ordered dish is the Brioche French Toast with fresh berry compote. Namo awakens desires for tastes I didn't even know I had. They have beautiful cocktails and fortified coffees if you are in the mood for that. I've been ordering dishes one by one and haven't had a stinker yet. The flavours in the Lobster Benny are truly brilliant. The Duck Confit Monte Cristo is so creative and an adventure for your tastebuds. Also significant, the owners and staff are wonderful people and truly care about food and customers. From showing personal interest to offering a to-go cup for coffee, the staff have consistently been solid and a pleasure. I also appreciate the restaurant itself. It's small but mighty, with pleasant tones and open lighting that encourages the drinking of good coffee and great conversations. The parking lot is right at the side of the joint. There is a patio at the front in warmer weather. read more

Went a couple of times to the Beltline location before and prefer that location. The Renfrew location is small in comparison and was unexpectedly very busy on a weekday. We had a reservation and showed up on time, but were seated a bit late (waited a few minutes to be acknowledged, and waited some more to be seated) and then asked to leave a minute after paying the bill. Staff were polite about it and it is understandable given how busy it was, but it does leave a damper on the experience because our time was cut short (the menu states a 75 minute limit) and we would've liked to have a few extra minutes before being rushed out the door. Aside from that, the food was good but we will go to different locations in the future when returning. read more

This is the old OEB location on Edmonton Trail. Looks the same inside, limited seating. I started off with a hazelnut latte which was delicious. I ordered the truffle benny but they were out of potatoes as a side, so tater tots were given. The eggs were perfectly cooked (soft poached) and the perfect amount of truffle was on the dish. My friend had the truffle breakfast bowl which he said was delicious. Service was good, felt rushed as there was a lineup, so we were asked to leave before we were ready so they could flip our window seats read more

One of my favorite brunch places in Calgary!!! I really think they make one of the best egg bennies in the city! Their avocado benny is my favorite and the side of tater tots compliments it really well. I also had it with their home fries and enjoyed it too. Their bowls are delicious too. :) It's a small restaurant but they have a yelp waitlist. Therefore, you can put yourself on the waitlist and see where you'll be at before heading to the restaurant. Namo has been our go to breakfast place for a while now and I will say that they have the best vegan options for breakky in Calgary. We always enjoy our time here! Every single time we have visited Namo we have been impressed by their food. Their menu is very extensive an offers so many vegan and vegetarian options you cna choose from. All the menu items are so good, it is hard to choose a favourite! But for me, it will have have be the Mighty Buddha brunch bowl. This bowl has both vegan and vegetarian options! My only complaint would be that the dining area is quite small and it is always quite cramp where we sit. I wish it was a bit bigger so we aren't so squeezed in tightly together as a family. Mind you, there are 7 of us. Overall it is worth it to sit as sardines in a can for an hour in a half to have a super tasty breakfast! read more

Another wonderful brunch place that will forever be on my to visit list when I'm in town! Namo Café is a cozy little spot with a large menu filled with delicious brunch items. My cousin and I shared the lobster benny which features a crispy fried lobster, shrimp and cream cheese patty topped with a perfectly poached egg and hollandaise sauce. I liked the texture of everything and flavour was spot on. My biggest beef with brunch is when it's made overly salty and this was definitely not the case! We also shared the tiramisu waffle which featured a gorgeous stack of waffles with tiramisu filling in between and a generous portion of fruits and cream. I found the sweetness a good level and did not need to use the syrup at all! The waffles are soft and moist and the filling perfectly encapsulates tiramisu flavour. I also had a chance to munch on my friends french toast and to my surprise - it was absolutely amazing. The french toast had a perfect crunch to it, the spiced peaches were lovely and had a good punch to it. Although I didn't have a chance to try the chicken karaage bowl, my friends deemed it very good and a generous portion considering the price. Warning though - it's nothing like traditional Japanese karaage, it's more like deliciously fried chicken bites. Service was decent but since it's a busy spot, be patient with the food times! We also sat outside because the inside seemed extremely cramped so that may be an option if it's a nice day and you would like to have more space to comfortably dine. read more

Kashmiri chai which was steeped black tea, saffron and chai spice was just mind blowing. Great for a cold day in Calgary. Last time I had lamb shakshuka but today I tried the miso salmon quinoa bowl. The pan seared salmon, warm quinoa with sautéed vegetables was scrumptious! Service was outstanding, it was a busy spot, so make sure you reserve your table beforehand! Highly recommend Namo Café for small groups or solos looking for a good brunch just north of downtown Calgary. With a really inviting interior and diverse menu options this is a great stop to bookmark! I enjoyed my duck confit Monte Carlo and black chai tea- I pushed the arugula aside but the eggs and French toast had excellent flavor especially with that side of syrup. Monte Carlo is usually my fave sando, and altho this one didn't have any sliced or shaved ham, the bacon and bacon jam still hit the spot. It wasn't too noisy inside and our server was great and kept checking that we had everything we needed. Two hour free street parking is just north around the corner. read more

Normally it's a nightmare trying to get a table at a brunch spot on Sunday afternoon but it was a breeze here with Yelp wait list. Our server was a joy and super attentive. Pros: Great food and service but the place is very small (and popular). Cons: The Yelp reservation system is SO unreliable. It stops taking reservations whenever the resto is overwhelmed... It's an all or nothing system. 40ppl can get on the waitlist in 5 mins and then it will suddenly shut down. So to get on the "waitlist" for 1230 you may have to try for 1030. Even though it estimates a 60 min wait, get onto it anyways cuz it's NOT accurate at all. The worst part is, the reso system turning off whenever and then you're SOL. This is a deterrent for me to come here. Too unreliable when all you want to enjoy Sunday brunch on your day off. Please use a new reso/waitlist system. read more

I am extremely picky about brunch and have been disappointed many times by overrated brunch places, but I wanted to try Namo as their menu is unique and I've heard many great things from friends/fellow foodies. I was able to make a reservation on Opentable, which is amazing because most brunch places are all about the line ups. Namo is situated in the original OEB location on Edmonton Trail and is a cozy little space. Our table was ready upon arrival, and the coffee was of good quality (I believe they use Rosso beans, though I'm not 100% sure). Our server did let us know that they offer a complimentary cup of coffee to go upon request, which I think is awesome! The service was really great, as was the food. I tried the Truffle Bacon Mushroom & Egg Brunch Bowl which came on a bed of tots with some lentils and greens, topped with pea mash (strangely delicious and added a nice texture to the dish), truffle hollandaise, and parmesan. This was such a creative dish with a variety of good ingredients. My only wish was that it had more truffle hollandaise sauce. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return! read more

This is one of the top 5 brunch spots in Calgary! Worth a visit Stumbled into this brunch cafe by chance omw to diner deluxe. What I can I say it was such a wonderful and refreshing experience. Everything from the ambience and environment felt warm and inviting. Unpretentious but simultaneously felt homey and upscale . The service was pleasant and straightforward. And most importantly the menu was classic Calgary brunch but with unique twists interspliced throughout the menu. Yes you can order a classic alberta breakfast or your eggs bennys but what about a unique twist on chicken and waffles? I'm talking about 'Butter Chicken and Waffles' talk about redefining a genre. And yes I did try it and yes as much as it sounds incredulous..... it was amazing and has become a favorite of mine. Oh and if that was not interesting enough... the dish is sprinkled with gold flakes. Tried this place as it's been all over Instagram lately and honesty I was super pleased! They took over the old OEB in Edmonton trail and left the layout as is. Their bowls also seemed really similar to OEB. I like that Namo has a lot of variety such as vegan and vegetarian! I got the truffle bacon mushroom egg bowl and it was seriously delicious! It had a good amount of truffle flavour and I really liked that there's arugula and lentils in the bowl. It's a nice change from just straight up potatoes and adds other substance! I subbed my tater tots for potato wedges and was so happy with my bowl! It was so big as well! It's a bit pricey at $17 - I think their bowls would be better priced at $15 but it was still great My friend got the California dreamin which was also good but I still preferred the truffle bowl! I'd really like to try out the other dishes especially the sweets. One thing I really liked about this place is that if you order a coffee or a latte you can sub out regular milk for non dairy options like soy. I got a chai latte with soy and I liked that too :) It wasn't too busy so I hope they do well (for my sake and theirs!) read more

Great food great people and great service. It's so nice to always see the chef/owner on the grill he clearly knows what he is doing. The food is always fresh and hot and it's AIR CONDITIONED. He has the skill and courage to put some unusual things on the brunch menu. It all works. Front end is run by a charming young lady related to the chef. They make a great team. Everything I've eaten here is well prepared and tasty! Today I was just craving a British bacon sandwich and even though it's not on the menu they were happy to put one together for me.
